The elf prince chapter 1

It's so hard being the prince

"Rise and shine Nagisa." The blinds where drawn open blaring the morning light into my room, I shielded my eyes wincing as I sat up in my bed. I looked over to the taller elf turning away from the window….

"Ah," I said yawning still waking up. "Good morning Piper." I greeted her with a smile. Piper was my older sister, she was the first born and four years older than me but in elf culture the males were the ones who where next in line for the throne while the females trained to be the next in lines guard.

A/N: Piper is one of my own personal characters I had made up years ago and never really made it into the story she was meant to be in so….please be nice to her my readers thanks :)

Her posture was refined and she had long hair a lighter blue than my own, her hair ended just past her mid back and she wore blue crystals hanging down from her ears on either side showing her royal rank. I had the same earrings attached to my ears as well as a blue ring on my ring finger to show that I was next in line for the throne and my statue as prince of elves.

"You should get ready dear brother, school will begin shortly." Piper spoke already getting my clothes from the dresser,

"You don't have to do that." I told her standing up, "Your my sister not my servant." Her red eyes looked at me and then she nodded wordlessly placing the neatly folded clothes down. "Of course my dear brother. I'll leave you to get dressed, I'll be waiting right outside your door." She told me as she closed the large double doors.

I sighed heading over to my mirror and looking at my reflection, I brushed hair until it was neatly combed down. I always wore my hair down, my hair was the average male elves hair length. It rested on my shoulders and my bangs hung in front of my eyes a little, my pointy ears stuck out as I adjusted my earrings.

My body and face was oddly feminine but it was actually common for prince elves of the royal family to appear this way. I didn't understand it fully but it had something to do with our ancestors. That was also the reason female elves took on the role of knight one that you'd think a male would take on but that wasn't the case.

I actually didn't mind it, I liked my sister being my knight, I got to spend time with her and she seemed to like it. She was tough and strong and I loved her.

I got dressed soon after that,

Today I was wearing standard royal clothing,

A black tunic with gold lacing around the outer edges

that ended at my knees with a silver belt around the waist to secure it, the family emblem planed in gold at the center, the caller went up and around my neck a little larger than it should be but that was so it was made to look more fancy. Along the interior of the caller and shoulder area down to my abdomen the tunic had gold-colored designs engraved into the black stitching of the tunic. I had a pair of dark blue pants on and a pair of the same color boots as my tunic that covered half of my leg and buckled at the top. Then a dark blue cloak that was an ankle length low to drape over my shoulders with a hood if I needed to cover my head which I usually did.

Finally I added the last touch the headpiece that went around my forehead it was a gold ring especially with a blue orb at the center and it fit around my forehead perfectly like a glove.

Once I was ready I headed out of my room as I opened the doors my sister was standing outside with her hands folded together perfect posture what I'd expect of her as she looked at me I surveyed her clothing for today,

My sister on the other hand was dressed more for combat than appearance. Her clothing was meant for battle, mine was meant to dazzle and show off so it easily ripped compared to my sister's clothing,

On this warm summer day she wore a sleeveless blue leather tunic that stopped just at her thighs with blue leathers cuffs on her wrist, black cotton pants and high boots that went just below her knee. She had her bow and arrows on the back of her gear and her long metal sword attached to her hip. Concealing all the weapons she had a blue cloak with a hood attached.

"Are you ready to go brother?" She asked politely,

"You know you can call me Nagisa.." I said a little awkward. Although we where related that's not how it felt at all…She nodded,

"I know, but you know that's frowned upon." Yeah...that was right, it was more of a bad thing to do for the sibling to refer to their...I guess superior sibling by name but only by brother. Although if we were going by my rules….as if I had a say, Piper was way more superior than me. But that was in strength and power, for me it was rank that kept me above her. Sometimes Piper slipped up and called me by name but that was only when we were alone and I never minded.

"I would love to continue this chat but if we don't hurry you'll be late." I nodded giving her a weak smile, "Sorry sorry….let's get going." She nodded and directed me towards the large stairs of our mansion that led downstairs to the main hall.

I had just arrived to the clearing in the forest and could see my fellow classmates sitting on the logs listening to our teachers lecture, he was a tall man and most woman who saw him would probably fall in love with him. Short brown hair, gentle hazel eyes and a kind smile. His ears were also pointed like the rest of my classmates, we were all elfs here so it made since.

Suddenly the class went quiet as they noticed my presence and stood up….I hated this part all the time. They bowed their heads simultaneously saying "Hello your highness." Ugh...I'll never get used to that…

"Well, I shall leave you with your studies brother, if you should need anything please do contact me." Piper spoke from behind me pointing to my cell phone, I nodded.

"Of course, and thank you for escorting me here." I gave her a kind smile and she gave a much smaller one in return it was barely noticeable but I could see it. I waved goodbye to her as she left before turning to my classmates.

I breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm sorry you guys have to do that everytime." A blond haired female elf walked up to me waving me off. "Don't worry about it Nagisa." Her name was Nakamura, one of my best friends.

"Come Nagisa," Koro-Sensei spoke beckoning me to join the class with his index finger. "Today we're learning healing magic." There where tons of more higher up classes and richer places than this class but...I'm glad I got to choose this, I like it here….
