Where am I? Nightfall didn't know. The last thing he remembered was going to sleep into the RainWing palace.
How do I get out of here?
Just then an archway appeared, and out came a IceWing. It looked at him and then said "Hello, Nightfall."
"Who are you?" Nightfall tried to sound brave.
"That right is does not matter, what matters is what I'm here for, you exactly."
"Why do you want me?"
"I am the old ghost of Arctic, the once prince of the Ice Kingdom, Nightfall, I need your help. My ghostly spirit has been trapped and tortured since I died, and I want you to fix that," Arctic said.
"Why me? Why not the most powerful dragon in Pyrrhia?"
"Why? Because you are the most powerful dragon in the continents," Arctic said back, "and I just want to be free, do you know what it's like when all you can do is watch things unfold while burning as well? I just want to be with my beloved Foeslayer and Whiteout. Don't you understand that?" His voice sounded sad as if all he could think of was the two dragons he spoke of.
"If I were to accept, you lived over two thousand years ago, I wouldn't know what to do," said Nightfall.
"I could guide you through it!" He said back.
"If your still in my head when I wake up I will do it, but, I get to take as long as I want to,"
"Deal," Arctic held out his claw, and Nightfall accepted it. He was jarred awake.
Was that a dream? Nightfall did not know the answer all he could think about was what Arctic said.
Wow, you are really a jittery Dragon, Nightfall. Was that his imagination?
No, this is Arctic, the one dragon from your dream.
The dream was real? Your still alive? Well, alive? No. Just a ghost you can communicate with.
Couldn't I just get an animus dragon to free you?
No. The spell put on me to keep me a ghost stopped all animus magic working on me, except his own.
Who put the spell on you?
I don't know, all I know was that he wanted revenge for something I did.
All right Arctic, what do I need to set you free?
You would need his scroll of animus power.
You mean Darkstalker's scroll?
Wait, Darkstalker's scroll?
That means he did this to you, your own son!
So that is who did this to me.
I have an idea. I could go to the eventually go to the school the dragons of destiny made!
How would that help us?
Darkstalker will reappear, in three years from now, and I could get his scroll while he is there.
You are a seer?
Yes.
Oh, wow. That actually would help us.
All we have to do is wait for three years.
That is a long time, you know.
Don't worry, you have me to keep you from going insane.
Thank you, Nightfall.
No problem, it is the least I can do for you after your sad story.
The least he could do…

Three Years Later, Jade Mountain Academy…

Were here, Arctic! Can you believe it!
Arctic laughed, Yes, I can believe that we are here, Nightfall.
Soon, I can set you free!
"Nightfall, Starburst, were here, you know," Glory said.
"I know mom," Starburst said excitedly,
"I wonder who my classmates are going to be," was what Nightfall said.
"Clawmates, Nightfall," said Starburst.
As they were walking into the school, they were getting weird looks, even though Glory stayed outside to talk to Sunny, one of the founders of the school.
"Hi!" a NightWing appeared next to them.
"You must be Princess Starburst and Nightfall! Here is your welcoming scroll and map." She shoved two scroll into both of their claws.
"Thanks," said Nightfall, studying the teardrop scales on the sides of her eyes, remembering that he had similar scales , but two of them in the same places.
Princess, your room is the fourth hallway and fifth room on the left. Nightfall your room is seventh hallway and second room on the right,"
"Thanks," said Starburst, and left for her room, to wait for her clawmates.
He looked around, and saw Glory waving at him, he waved back as she left to go back to the rainforest.
Time to go to my room that I will be sharing. He thought mournfully.
You do know you will have to make friends, right?
Oh shut up, Arctic.
He laughed, but trust me, you will need friends in a place like this.
What do you mean by that?
Just some advice for you.
OK?
While the two were talking g he got some weird looks as he made his way to his room.
Before he opened the door, he looked at the welcoming scroll.

Gold Winglet

NightWing: Silverscale

RainWing: Nightfall

IceWing: Icefall

SandWing: Dust

SeaWing: Waterflow

MudWing: None

SkyWing: None

As Nightfall read the scroll, he noticed that his winglet did not have a SkyWing or a MudWing.
That's weird.
That means two less friends for you, that you will need.
You know, it's really annoying when you do that.

Oh REALLY now? Arctic said sarcastically.
Yes.
Well to bad. Your stuck with me until I'm set free.
I still don't understand why I can't use my magic for you.
Because then you won't lose your soul for me, plus it won't work, remember?
Right, right. I gotta enchant something to block mind readers. I'm getting weird looks. Plus the loud noises from inside my room stopped. That means one of them is a mind reader. That might not be good.
Yeah, it might not be.
Arctic had tested Nightfall for animus magic, by trying to get his necklace on. The one his mother wore.

One Year Ago...

"Come on, necklace!"
It doesn't do any good to say that, if I'm testing you.
"Necklace I command you to go around my neck and stay there!" Nightfall said. The necklace floated out of his talons, and latched itself around Nightfall's neck. Huh, that's odd. That only happens when your ancestors were animus.
My grandfather is Darkstalker, which makes you my—
Great Grandfather.
I'm still gonna call you Arctic.
That's fine. It sound weird for me to be called that anyway.

Present time…

He opened the door. He was immediately was hit with a banana peel.
"Your mental!"
"What are you doing, thinking to yourself!"
"Loser!"
This is just great.
Wow, I did not expect this.
Neither did I, Arctic.
"Who's Arctic?" The NightWing named Silverscale said.
"What?"
"Who is Arctic?" She said again.
Lie.
No.
Don't tell the truth.
That's the same thing as lying, Arctic.
Tell them a fake truth.
Still the same thing.
Fine then, tell them a half truth.
I guess that would work.
"He is my friend."
"The friend in your head?"
He didn't say anything. He walked over to an empty room and went inside and closed the door.
That went well.
Shut up, Arctic.
You know, you will have to deal with them everyday for the school year.
Kill me now.
Sorry, can't.
He sighed as he fidgeted with his dragon shaped necklace.
Don't do it.
Don't do what?
Enchant it.
I enchant this necklace to block out any mind reading powers, unless I say they can hear my mind.
You are an idiot.
At least I can still hear you.
Whatever.
Just then his stomach made a sound.
Food time.
Look at the map, you might find what you need.
He opened the map scroll to where it had a list of places in the school.

Rooms:
Library
Dorm rooms
Prey center
Attendance office
Main office

Classes:
Math
Literature
Science
Animus Studies (optional)

Physical Education

There's a 'prey center,' that is probably where you can eat.
No shit sherlock.
That's a little mean, Nightfall.
Sorry.
It's all right.
He made his way through the school, guided by the map to the prey center.
We're here.
I can tell, thanks.
Your welcome.

He sighed.
He walked over to the counter with the prey on it. He took a fish, then walked to to a secluded table.
He was about to take a bite, when a frightened looking SkyWing with orange scales along her snout, with pink scales covering the rest of her body. looked at him the fled before he could say hello.
I wonder who that was.
Looked small. Probably insecure, nervous, and frightened at the sight of new dragons and friend making.
You could tell all of that by looking at here?
Yes.
You are very observant.
Thanks.
Your welcome.
He took a bite. Very slipper, just how he liked when he had fish with he blood family.
I'm sorry for you because of that.
Why?
Because a one year old should not have to deal with something terrifying like that.
Nightfall didn't answer.
He still had nightmares about his mother's dead body on the floor. The blood around her. His father's insane smile. The last words his father spoke to him. The hole through his head. The voice recorder. He actually still had it. He kept it with all the time. He listened to it when he was missing his mother. Her soft voice. Her nice smile. He could never forget her. But his father, his icy voice. His insane smile.
Since you are an animus, you can enchant something to help you with the sadness.
And lose more of my soul? Not thanks.
Darkstalker enchanted something to contain all of his animus magic.
He still lost his soul.
By doing things evil, not by animus magic.
Still, I don't want to risk it.
You still will have to do something about your friend situation.
I have you.
But once I am free, you will need friends.
I know that, Arctic.
He looked at his fish. He threw it into the trash can. Nightfall lost his appetite.
"Nerd," the voice came from behind him. He turned his head to look at the dragon, but was instantly his with a fist, but Nightfall didn't flinch. He had a high pain tolerance. The IceWing that hit him was surprised.
"What was that for?" Nightfall asked.
"You're a lazy RainWing,"
"So you decide to bully me for that?" He said.
"You're tribe did nothing in the war. All you did was eat fruit in the trees," He responded, "while dragons died in the skys, desert, and ice."
"But there is your mistake," the IceWing looked startled, "I'm not only a RainWing."
Nightfall stood up. He was taller than the IceWing.
"I'm also a NightWing," and shot fire at the IceWing, who dodged it.
"And I will fight you if, I have to," Nightfall left the prey center leaving a trail of ashes.
That went well, you even made an enemy.
I can tell, Arctic.
But, no friends.
Really? Right now? I almost got into a fight, and we're having this conversation, right now?
But, they might help you with freeing me.
Do you know if I will ever get friends?
It… is possible.
Can you see the future?

Cliffhanger? I can't tell. Thanks for reading this chapter. I don't have any thing to say, so please review. Thanks!
