Chapter One: Music Boxes and Letters
Joe rests the small scrap of paper against the old wooden bunk before writing again. He takes a deep breath and sighed contentedly. Life would be so good when he was released. His sweetheart Sarah would be waiting for him and revenge on all of the people they hated would be in their sights. Joe looks around at his cellmates. Foolish morons. He has wasted nine years of his life on those imbeciles. The prison cell's pretty good though. Sky television, flushing toilets, wool blankets, it's one of the best Joe's stayed in. He stuffs the list into his grubby jeans pocket before sitting on the cold concrete floor. He bends down and looks under his bunk. He pulls out an old maroon music box. It was made of metal and decorated lavishly. Joe strokes the dust off it and gently opens the ornate lid. "Amazing Grace" is the tune that sweetly fills the air. The box is a gift from his ex-wife and, even though never thinks or cares about her, he still keeps special things in the box. Joe lifts out his last sheet of paper and a calligraphy pen. The only things left in the case are six photos. Three of these pictures were of three different teenagers: his son, his daughter and Sarah's son. Attached to them are pictures of the teenagers as young children. So innocent…yet so troubled. Joe gently picks up one the picture of his son before harshly tossing it back in the box. He gently closes the box and slides it under his bed. Momentarily he thinks of Sarah. She would defiantly freak out she found out he kept that old thing after all these years. Joe gets up and sat on his bunk with the paper and the pen. The paper was rather old and yellowing and the pen-nib is almost covered in rust. Joe doesn't care for he's writing a letter… to his son
Dear Drake,
I'm sorry but I'm free you see. And Sarah and I are coming to get our own back on everyone who crossed us. So you...
