The day it happened was on a Saturday.

"Renji."

When Renji went to find out who was knocking on the door that afternoon, he was surprised to see his sister standing there.

There was a long silence. The hurt and scars caused by their last conversation were still not healed.

"Have you been drinking Ren?" Hikari asked him after she came inside and sat down on the couch. She the glass of wine on the table.

"Not a lot," He lied to her.

"You need to get yourself together Ren," she told him.

He knew she was right but he preferred to be depressed right now.

"D-Did you have to marry that guy?" Renji asked Hikari.

"I told you, Ren. I love him. One day when you fall in love with a woman perhaps you'll understand," she said to him.

Right at the moment, the only woman he loved was sitting right next to him. If only she knew how much she meant to him.

He wrapped his arms around her body, hugging her as their chests pressed against each other.

"What's this about?" Hikari asked with a strange expression on her face that was hard to read, as she also placed her arms around his shoulders.

"While I was away from you, I realized how much I loved you. I never meant to say those nasty things and make you cry. Please don't hate me. It's just that I didn't want to lose you. I don't want to be alone." He said, holding her tender body in a tight embrace.

"You know I'd never hate you. I could never feel that way against you. I'll always love you no matter what." She said while lovingly stroking his back.

Renji felt a bold energy within him right then and without thinking about the consequence he inched his face closer to hers, softly kissing her on her lips.
