Elsa stared at her beaming little sister and blinked a few times to process what she just heard.

Marriage…

Love…

Kristoff?

Her eyes darted to the burly blond young man standing bashfully next to Anna.

"Well?" Anna asked, playfully nudging the queen. "Do we have your blessing?"

"Anna…marriage?"

The strawberry blonde shook her head frantically. "No, no. He's nothing like Hans. Trust me."

"But it's so soon!" Elsa protested, keeping her cool.

"I know but after being with someone as horrible as Hans, I know when someone is being earnest and genuine, and Kristoff is just that!" Anna pointed to her boyfriend.

Elsa shook her head and mentally groaned. Just a week ago Anna and Elsa had their first fight in years over a guy Anna had just met and nearly lost their lives over it and now there's another guy! Anna had the body of a beautiful eighteen year old yet the mindset of a lovesick middle school child. Then again, Elsa was to blame because of her powers.

"Anna, I trust him so much more than I did with Hans…"

The princess groaned. "But?"

"I don't know him enough to trust him." She looked over at Kristoff with a flustered face. "No offense."

"But Elsa!" Anna whined, dejected.

Kristoff rested his hand on her shoulder and gave her a warm smile. He stared at the concerned queen and said, "Your majesty, if there's anything I can do to prove my trust and loyalty to you, Anna, and Arendelle, please let me know. I'll be more than happy to prove my worth."

Elsa bit her thin lips. Honestly, she was hoping to be able to spend some quality time with her sister for a year or two before a man could enter their lives. But seeing how Anna is so head over heels for him, she couldn't find it in her heart to say no.

"Alright." She said, clasping her hands together. "I will allow you to live in the castle but I will be watching over you and your actions, Kristoff."

"Yes, thank you for your graciousness."

When the door closed behind the couple, Elsa was left alone in her throne room. She plopped her bottom on the cushioned throne and slumped into it.

"That was exhausting…" She mumbled. Her eyes wandered around the vast yet empty hall. She can clearly remember the day of her coronation and how it was filled with people, music, and life. Her head turned to the empty seat next to her.

It wouldn't be long until the head council of Arendelle expects her to wed to a suitable prince and yet Anna is already rushing to get married.

"I'm not ready to fall in love…" After all, she was still learning to love her sister again and to fully accept the love she receives.

The queen's eyes fluttered closed as she blew a stray tress of hair from her face.

"Elsa, sweetie, come to mother." Queen Katherina spoke when she saw Elsa walk by the opened door of the chamber. She was sitting on a deep red velvet chair knitting next to the warm hearth.

Elsa walked over to her and sat down on the floor next to her mother. "Yes?"

Katherina placed her knitting supplies on the table next to her and lifted up the light child and placed her on her lap.

"Mother was just curious about something." She smiled, fixing the stray hairs on Elsa's forehead.

"Hmm?" Elsa asked, wincing as a piece of hair tickled her eyes.

"What are your thoughts on Prince Klaus? He seems like a fine young man."

"Klaus? He's very kind and…what's the word you and father always use? Considerate? Yea, that." Elsa answered, finding amusement in her hands.

Katherina's eyebrow rose with an interested smile. "Considerate, how is that?"

"Well, when I showed him my powers, he immediately asked if I was hurt from the ice shooting out of my palms. It was pretty funny, hehe." She giggled at the memory from a few days ago.

"That's very good to hear." She smiled softly. "Very good to hear…"

"Why are you asking, mother?" Her bright blue eyes glimmered with curiosity.

She shook her head and cupped her daughter's face in her hands. "Oh nothing Elsa." She rested her forehead against Elsa's and exhaled in relief. "Nothing at all, sweetie."

Klaus.

It sounded so familiar yet foreign at the same time.

She hadn't thought of that name in years.

"I bet if I were to mention that name to Anna, she wouldn't even remember." She whispered. Anna must've been three or four when they first met Klaus.

If her memory served her well, Klaus was their first and only other playmate. It was a little before the incident that resulted in Elsa being isolated to the world around her.

I wonder what ever happened to Klaus. I don't think he attended my coronation… I'm pretty sure he would've, considering how we were close when we younger. Even people I never met once in my life congratulated me.

"That's odd…why didn't he come?" Elsa pondered aloud.

Immediately, she feared the worst, a bad habit of hers.

What if his ship sunk, like what happened to her parents? Was he waiting for her in his watery grave somewhere in the dark unforgiving ocean?

An image of young Klaus submerged underwater flashed in her panicked mind. His eyes were closed and seemed to have a peaceful expression. His face was pallid and lips tinted blue. His once delicately sewn clothes were tattered and disheveled from the restless waves. Elsa watched as his body sink deeper and deeper into the dark depths of the ocean. With hardly any light shining through the water, it was getting more difficult to see Klaus. Within seconds, he would be too deep down to see.

"KLAUS!" She shrieked, jolting in her seat and arm extended out, as if to grab the illusion of Klaus out of the cold waters and into the warmth of the sun. Her body was glistening from a thin layer of sweat and heaving up and down, desperate to catch a breath.

"…Your majesty?" A similar male voice softly asked.

Elsa yelped and locked eyes with Kristoff. Her cheeks tinged pink when it hit her how he must've seen her freak. Flustered, she pushed loose strands away from her heated face and tucked behind her ear.

"Kristoff!" Her voice semi-cracked. She cleared her throat. "Y-Yes?"

"Anna just wanted to let you know that dinner will be served soon and that we're waiting for you." He said, trying his best to avoid asking what just happened to her.

Dinner?! Just how long has she been in her throne room? She could've sworn she just talk to Anna and Kristoff a few minutes ago.

"Yes, thank you, Kristoff!" She stood up from her seat and straightened any potential wrinkles from her dress before stepping down the platform.

Kristoff pushed the door more open and held it for Elsa. She looked at him oddly, still a little hesitant to trust him but still thanked him regardless.

"Thank you, Kristoff." She said curtly as she walked coolly past him.

He nodded with his lips in a tight line. He took a glance at the hall behind him, his eyebrows furrowing when he felt a sense of nostalgia coming over him. Thinking nothing of it, he pushed the thought and feeling in the back of his mind as he closed the chamber doors behind him.
