I stirred slowly, groaning the next morning from Tivan's bed.

"Valor."

Tivan was seated in a red leather chair, smoking a cigarette.

"Valor, this isn't going to work out, my dear."

"What?" I asked, dumbfounded.

Tivan didn't answer. He blew out more smoke rings.

"Don't tell me I'm a one night stand."

He sighed, another wave of the smoke spilling from his lungs and nostrils. "I am afraid that is precisely the case."

I got up from the bed and began gathering my things together.

Tivan eyed me curiously. "Valor, where are you going?"

"If I'm a one night stand then I should be allowed to find someone who will appreciate me."

"No, my dear..."

"Go fuck your attendant, Tivan. Tell her she's a one night stand tomorrow morning."

Tivan sighed again. "Valor, I did not intend for it to be that way."

"That's funny. I could've sworn you fucked me last night and waited until this morning to tell me it's not working out and you've basically used me to fulfill your sexual fantasies." I spat.

"Valor..." Tivan put out his cigarette. "That's not true. I don't want to hurt you. At least this way you spent a wonderful evening of passion with me. If you stayed here with me, you would be dooming yourself to a lifetime of pain and anguish."
