"Sabine for the love of merlin please move a little faster than a crawl." the irritated tone coming from her twin was a delightful reminder that yes she was not the type to swiftly buzz through town, she liked to see things and browse. Unlike Fleur who wanted things done immediately with no sightseeing stops.

"I'm coming Fleur," Sabine sighed and picked up the pace following her neurotic sister through the mass of people littering Vendette venue.

Vendette Avenue is the largest and only hidden street in France for Wizards and Witches to buy supplies for school and such. At the each end of the street there is a small cafe. Muggles occasionally enter the cafes from time to time, although the back entrance is completely invisible to the muggle eye.

Stores packed along both sides of the street drew in witches and wizards. Looking for the cheapest best quality supplies to send their children to Beauxbatons. Pet stores boasted of the most affectionate and obedient pets in comparison to their competition. Stores selling robes flashed sales to attract mobs of shoppers.

Sabine scanned the list she had quickly scribbled that morning summarizing the contents of the one included with her acceptance letter.

3 complete sets of the Beauxbatons uniform, cauldron(Standard), 1 set of glass vials, wand, brass scales, textbooks for the following subjects; Herbology, Charms, Defense, Mythical creatures, Potions, transfiguration and magical theory, first year.

There was also the possibility of a pet... a possibility she put great hope into for once.

Sabine stopped for a moment to see where her sister had fled to, she glanced around and saw her standing with her best friend, Matilda Frysna, chatting animatedly away about some cute boy they had just seen.

She sighed knowing how they would stand like that until hell froze over. She stalked over and tapped Fleur on the shoulder indicating that there were things they should be doing. Fleur turned up her nose and dismissed her with the flick of hand, placing Fleur's own school supply list in her hand.

"Go fetch my stuff Sabine." She spoke in a lofty voice that she used when in front of those she admired. Especially Matilda whom belonged to a rather renowned wizarding family of purebloods. Matilda herself wasn't extremely impressive in Sabine's books.

The girl was their age and only a little taller than Sabine and Fleur. She had honey blonde hair that was usually tied back in an intricate braid. Her voice was sickeningly sweet and condescending to mainly Sabine and others she felt did not deserve her presence.

The shorter girl sent daggers at the backs of her sister and friend's heads. Her mother and Father had told them to pick up their textbooks and then meet them in the south café for lunch so the family could all go to get the rest of their supplies along with the girls' pre-ordered wands. Grumbling to herself Sabine turned to see where she was she found herself standing in front of a rather dusty looking wand shop. Desperate to get away from the pressing crowd of people littering the street she opened the door and stepped inside.

The inside of the wand shop was enormous. Almost making it look bigger on the inside than the outside. A scruffy man sat behind a desk overflowing in boxes containing wands.

His eyes caught hers in a second his face lit up in a delighted grin, resembling a happy puppy in many ways.

"Hello Dear! Welcome to Daenan's Wand shop." He stood about 6 feet tall with a ragged black and silver coat that drooped to his knees. He grasped her hands and led her around the store with ecstatic energy pouring off him in waves. Brown eyes met her own green eyes and even his eyes had a smiling factor to them. He gestured to the wall of wands along the shop walls.

"Well my dear-" He gestured for her name. Finally finding her voice she spoke,

"S-Sabine?" His grin grew wider though it didn't seem to be physically possible.

"Good strong name Sabine is yes?" She shrugged and opened her mouth to let him know that it was only a mere coincidence to have entered his store and had no urgency to buy one of his wands. However she stopped herself and decided to hear Daenen out. He probably doesn't get many customers guessing from the amount of joy I got from him. She thought observing him clambering through the boxes looking for something.

She took this time to just admire the store in it's dusty and rather creepy looking glory. The walls were lined with boxes and boxes of wands organized by wood first and then the core. Finally it was organized by wand length. The rafters of the store looked as though they could house the father of all spiders.

Daenen's beefy hand grasped her own tiny hand, shocking her slightly. He had a small wand in his hand and a playful gleam in his eyes.

"Try this one for size lil one." He place the small wand in her hand . She felt a slight jump of energy course through her body producing a flash of red sending it into the corner of the room. She yelped and dropped the wand, eyeing the offending wooden device. Daenen chuckled and lightly plucked it from the floor.

"Clearly it ain't that un." Daenen's guttural way of speaking contained a certain charm to it Sabine decided watching him place the wand back into it's box returning it to the Ash:Unicorn hair:10' Category.

Daenen was rather nimble for such a large man, easily manoeuvring through the stacks of wand boxes slightly mumbling to himself. Before crowing,

"Eureka!" He very proudly presented a wand to her.

"This un be of good stock! Dragon heart string Ash and 10 1/2 inches" He pressed it into her hand.

"Give er a whirl" Sabine nodded and brandished the wand, she felt energy coarse through her body, blowing through her hair. A wild grin flew to her lips as she looked to Daenen.

"That be the un for you missy." Daenen chuckled with a twinkle of laughter in his dark brown eyes.

Saby realized as she followed Daenen back to the front of his dusty shop that she no longer wanted her pre-ordered wand because it would never really be hers, Saby had found her wand in this dusty place.

"Well lil one would you like this wand, because it looks like most of the crowd has dissipated outside? Daenen tilted his head slightly had a small knowing smile on his face, he looked remarkably like a bird when he did that.

"Umm well uhh," Saby stuttered for a second before blurting, "how did you know?"

"Well lil miss, most of the people who stumble in here are hiding for from the crowds or someone in them. So lil Sabine would you like this wand or did you have other plans for a wand? Daenen tapped the wand box lightly, before cocking his head at her again.

Sabine looked at him, reevaluating, his happy giant of a man. "There were plans made, but they were not mine. I would like this wand, odds are it will suit me better then the other one ever will." Saby watched his expression trying to see it she made the right choice.

Daenen's face broke into his huge grin, "Alrighty then lil' miss, that'll be seven sickles for ya."

Sabine counted seven sickles out of her monthly allowance and handed it to him. Daenen handed her the small box containing her wand. "Good luck fer yer first year lil' Sabine."

Saby smiled "Thank you, good bye." she muttered fleeing the small shop. She liked Daenen maybe if she got the chance she would go see him again next year.

The big clock over looking Vandette Street began to toll eleven, Saby gulped, there were still books various supplies and robes, oh and she had to get Fleur's as well, all by noon. Saby took off at a sprint heading for the nearest bookstore.
