A/N: Again, I do not own these characters. They are legal property of Rick Riordan
All the harpies were busy cleaning, so Percy drove the van, with Annabeth in the passenger seat. It was 5 pm, rush hour downtown, so it took an hour and a half to drive what with no traffic would have been a 15 minute ride. After they finally made it to Sally's apartment, Percy parked the van (with some troubles), and brought their luggage inside and up the stairs.
Sally was in the kitchen when the couple walked in, cooking some sort of soup in a pot. She turned around. "Oh, Percy! It's been so long, I thought you forgot about me!"
"Annabeth and I have been… busy…" Percy muttered, looking at his feet shamefacedly.
"Oh, and you brought Annabeth, how wonderful!" Sally crowed as she ushered them into seats at the table, and immediately brought them steaming bowls of blue chowder.
"Wow, your mom sure is prepared," Annabeth whispered. "It's like she was expecting us."
"I didn't tell her anything…" Percy looked slightly baffled. "Maybe Dad overheard something and told her, but that doesn't seem like him." Just then, Sally sat down with them.
"How's Camp?" She asked, cutting right to the point
A/N: If you didn't know, Sally is one of the few mortals that can see monsters.
"It's been wonderful," Annabeth chirped. "Almost no monster threats, although a few more powerful half-bloods were chased in within the past few months."
"That's good to hear!"
"Anyways…" Percy cut in. "We came here to talk to you about something very important to us." Sally looked worried.
"It's nothing bad Mom," Percy exclaimed. "We just wanted to ask for your blessing… you know, like…" he blushed.
"What Seaweed Brain here is trying to say," Annabeth cut in, "is if you would be willing to give your blessing in our marriage."
"You're going to get MARRIED?" Sally exclaimed.
"MOM! We aren't engaged yet, we came here first. We had been talking about it for a while, and we thought it would be best to ask our mortal parents first." Percy tried to calm his mom down.
"My dad already said yes. I called him, because he moved back to San-Francisco." Annabeth chimed in to help.
"YES, of course I give my blessing! I've been waiting for you two for the past few years!" Sally said.
The conversation continued on, and around 10, Percy and Annabeth went up to the guest room to sleep. Annabeth curled herself up and set her back against Percy's abdomen, and fell asleep, snoring softly. Shortly after, Percy fell asleep as well, his hand keeping her from rolling away.
In the morning, Percy nudged Annabeth's sleeping form. "Wake up, Wise Girl. We're gonna get you a ring!" Annabeth groaned and tried to roll away, but Percy playfully rolled her onto his stomach and held her there. But Annabeth would have none of it and quickly untangled herself from Percy and his grasp. They both got up and got dressed, and walked down to the kitchen, where the smell of bacon wafted through the air.
"Hey, Mom," Percy said as they walked in the kitchen. "Breakfast smells good."
"Last I checked, I wasn't your mom, Percy." It was Paul who had made breakfast. "Your mom's still asleep."
"Thank you, Mr. Blofis," Annabeth said.
"Ah, brought your girl with you eh, Percy? And you can call me Paul."
"Sure did, Paul. We're gonna go get her a ring after we eat." Percy said.
"I'm right here?" Annabeth joked. "Let's get going!"
After a delicious breakfast, Percy and Annabeth took Paul's car out to Tiffany's, because why get anything less?
Inside, the couple found the ring section, and the person behind the counter greeted them warmly. "Percy, Annabeth! Looking for an engagement ring?" Calypso was there?
"Yes." They said together. Calypso didn't invade their privacy, although she looked a little hurt. The only questions she asked were professional ones, like 'white or yellow gold' '3 stones or 1' and 'how big do you want the diamond'. None of them suited Annabeth. So, naturally, they called Hazel.
Hazel was perfect; she didn't intrude, and only asked similar professional questions. She managed to pull up some gold and diamonds, and took them into the crafting room to customize the ring. Annabeth created a shiny yellow-gold slim band, with a medium diamond in the center, and two slightly smaller rubies on either side. It was perfect for her.
While there, they decided to be productive and pick out the wedding bands as well. They were simple yellow-gold, but had a small carving of an owl riding a hippocampus clutching an olive branch.
When they went back to Sally's to pick up their stuff, she and Paul fawned over Annabeth's rings. They left for Camp happy, and without worry.
They had only been gone for 2 days, but a lot had changed. And it wasn't for the better.
A/N: I hope you enjoyed! Sorry about the cliff hanger... Not really! MWAHAHAHAHAHA
