I waited until the middle of the night. I knew my parents had gone to bed because I could hear their snoring. The place did have thin walls. I crept out of my bed and changed into the leather armor I had found. I grabbed the Daedric dagger my father had given me when I was young so I could protect myself and put it in its holster. Once I grabbed my satchel full of the supplies I would need, I would be ready.
I slipped outside, making the least amount of noise possible. I looked around to see if anyone was still up. The town was empty. I made my way silently to the boats, who would go across anytime. I was almost there when someone grabbed me, covering my mouth so I couldn't scream out. He dragged me away from the boats to a hidden place. He let me go and I whirled around to face him, my hand on my knife. I relaxed and let out a sigh of relief when I saw who it was. "Dahmien," I sighed," You scared me half to death."
Dahmien chuckled and explained," I saw you heading to the boats and knew what you were going to do. Look, Sophie. You can't go. You can't leave me here." I exclaimed," Then come with me! Come with me to Skyrim, and to freedom!" He shook his head and sighed," You know why I can't leave, Sophie." His eyes flashed yellow for a second. I sighed," I know. It's easier to control when you aren't around as many people. I just..I wish things didn't have to be so complicated Dahmien!" Dahmien nodded. I felt tears come to my eyes and I cried," I'm sorry Dahmien, but I have to go. I promise I'll come back for you. I'll find a cure so you can come with me." Dahmien smiled and sighed happily," That would be wonderful. I'll send you letters whenever I can." I laughed and said," Oh, don't I know it."
I stood on the boat. I had just paid the man who owned the boat and we'd be leaving in a minute. Dahmien stood on the shore, waving sadly. I called," I love you, Dahmien." He smiled and called back," I love you too, more than you'll ever know." I smiled too. The captain of the ship said that I should get some rest, so I went below deck. It smelled terrible, but not completely not smoke and ash. I laid down in a cot and soon fell asleep.
I opened my eyes. The morning air was wonderful and had lost all traces of ash and smoke. I knew we were close. I jumped out of my cot, grabbed my things, and ran to the deck. I went to the from of the boat and looked out across the land I could see. I gasped in shock. It was so beautiful. Skyrim was so beautiful. I was finally in Skyrim. I was finally home.
