Summary: Set in my "I'm Needed: Redux" AU -based on chapter nine of "Collision: Love to Annoy"- though some occur in my "Not What You Bargained For" AU. Disclaimer: I do not own Neon Genesis Evangelion

Notes: I decided that I wanted to do a Fifty Sentence Challenge for Asuka and Kaworu after seeing the pic I used for the cover. Sorry for the spoilers, but I couldn't resist the plotbunnies backed-up by my muse.

011. Text
When he was first issued the NERV-standard cellular phone Kaworu had been both confused and impressed by the simple device, finding it facinating that humans would both willingly put distance between themselves and yet invent a machine that allowed them to remain always in contact, and perhaps it was the latter that had him -initially, before Asuka had explained some of the etiquette- texting his newly gained friends almost constantly.

012. Melancholy
"But in dreams I can hear your name, and in dreams we will meet again, and at the setting of the sun we will walk in bitter rain," Kaworu finished giving Hikari's eulogy, tears in his eyes but none falling -wishing for a moment that he was not an Angel and had been able to grow old with her- while Asuka laid a gentle hand on her son's should with the final words.

013. Honest
If she was completely honest with herself, Asuka was initially unnerved at how Kaworu looked to her and at what she felt concerning him, the instant recognition when he strolled into school that day and their frank conversation that afternoon on the roof had bothered her for several days until she'd idetified what the emotion was; a mirror, positions reversed, of what she'd felt for her mother until she discovered Kyoko's sins: Parent and Child.

014. Mundane
Being an Angel set them apart from Humans on many levels, but the one that bothered them the most was something as mundane as aging; they would never age -no matter that they could change their appearance to mimic it- as their loved ones did.

015. Worn
Asuka watched her little white-haired, brown eyed granddaughter dance around happily, showing off to her parents the worn red A-10 clips Asuka had placed in her hair.

016. Solitude
"As friendly as you are, I still shouldn't be surprised to find you isolating yourself," Asuka sat beside Kaworu as she spoke, allowing the silence to wrap around them on the roof of the apartment while her son simply leaned against the rails with his knees drawn up, eyes closed and face turned to the sky.

017. Jaded
Asuka knew she could be rather jaded, outliving your husband and other loved ones could have that affect, but she'd hoped Kaworu -her ever smiling son in Spirit- would not follow her down that lonely path.

018. Depressing
Kaworu had not believed himself capable of depression, not when surrounded by so many happy humans and family, but after Hikari's death he often found himself unable to muster any smile or positive thought, and without the constant presence of his children and his nephew and niece Kyo and Mana he shuddered to think of just how deep he could have fallen.

019. Anticipation
Asuka had to laugh at Kaworu's excitement over his wife's pregnancy, and Hikari often joked with her that she hadn't known anyone could so energetically anticipate fatherhood.

020. Sensible
He'd thought the sensible thing to do would be to summon Asuka to the Regeneration Cage so she could stop him, but in the years that followed and he saw the hurt in his mother's eyes whenever that day was mentioned he realized it would have been far better to go to her instead of bring her to him.

A/N: A bit darker this time, but I hope you all enjoyed it none-the-less.

On a brighter note, I'm writing a "Time Loop" series on the side where Asuka must relive the same year over and over until "Reality" is repaired and time can continue on. Inspired by "Log Horizon Loops" by Mivichi [and a little bit from SG-1 "Window of Oppertunity"], I'm willing to accept any ideas for prompts, be they silly or serious. Called "Instrumentality Loopers", check it out.
