BODICE RIPPER

Chapter 2

WOW - Rain. Due to popular demand, I've made this week's drabble challenge into a follow up for my 'Bodice Ripper' story. If you haven't read the beginning of this story, please read the first chapter before this one otherwise it won't make a lot of sense!

I've written 200 words to match the first chapter which was a special challenge.

Sam finds something he really doesn't expect! Vague spoilers for season 8 because I mention the B-place.

Strolling through the Batcave, Sam headed toward the library where he'd left Dean tidying up.

He wasn't optimistic.

Dean had planned on servicing the Impala today, but Sam had different ideas, and judging by the bitching, sighing and eye-rolling that went on as Dean stomped around the library, duster and polish in hand; together with the total lack of sympathy for the dust's debilitating effect on Sam's sinuses, Sam guessed any progress at all would qualify as a small miracle.

Peering through the door, he froze.

There, feet on table, Dean sat, absorbed in a novel entitled 'Rainclouds of my Heart'. On its dog-eared cover, some rugged, bare-chested hero was grappling passionately with a willowy beauty swathed in voluminous layers of taffeta from which her breasts were in very real danger of escaping.

Sam noted Dean's brow furrowed in rapt concentration, the tip of his tongue peeking out from between pursed lips; and - Sam's eyes sparkled with glee - surely not ... could that be a faint blush across Dean's cheeks?

Unnoticed, Sam snapped a photo on his phone, and grinned.

Suddenly he didn't care about the library any more.

Or his sinuses.

Not when his life was about to improve so much.
