"Mako-chan?" the blonde female called out to the brunette on the floor but received no answer. "Oh crap did I kill her." Mina thought in a panic and hurried to the taller girl.
"Mako…Mako…" she called her name and began to shake her. There was still no immediate response.
"Oh god!" she could feel the panic start to deepen. "Mako, don't you dare make me a widow this soon."
She began to lightly slap the green-eyed female across the face.
"Mako,"
"Ugh…"
There was a sound of revival.
"Hey I think that she's coming to."
She continued to shake Makoto until green eyes slowly started to open.
"Ugh…what…"
This constant shaking was making the brunette feel very dizzy.
"W-What in the h-hell…" she focused her attention on to the blonde. "Mina w-will you cut it out."
"Mako," Mina smiled as she ceased the shaking. "You are alive after all. Thank god I thought that maybe I'd have to revive you with a kiss." She spoke with a sexy wink.
Makoto could only groan but managed to sit up. Mina removed her hands from the taller girl. The brunette felt almost as if her head was about to split into two. If possible it felt worse than it did before.
"W-What happened?"
"You fainted." Mina reminded her.
"Oh, y-yeah." She remembered. "I think that I need an aspirin or something."
"Good idea." Mina nodded. "We need you up and at your best Mako-chan, especially since you're making breakfast."
Mina stood to extend her hand to the green-eyed girl in order to help her to feet. Makoto blinked a few times.
"Say what."
She knew for certain that she never agreed to make breakfast.
"Breakfast," she repeated. "I never said anything about breakfast."
Mina suddenly gave a too cute pout and batted her eyelashes.
"Aw come on Mako-chan you are the chef around here aren't you? Besides I'm hungry."
"So," Makoto shrugged. "I' am in no state to cook Mina."
A pair of pink lips began go quiver.
"Oh, no…" Makoto thought.
"Hey no fair, so you're just going to let me starve. Mako you're a neglectful wife. How could I have married you." she spoke in a highly over-dramatic tone that made Makoto inwardly groan.
"That's such bad acting Mina." She thought. "You'll never get an award like that."
Then realization hit the brunette. "Um I don't think that we we're in our right minds when we did this Mina. I think all the alcohol had a lot to do with it."
The blonde knew that Makoto was right but that did little to stop the fact that she was hungry.
"Well," she shrugged. "Details, details who needs them, huh it's done and you have to feed me?
"No," Makoto shook her head. "No I don't."
Mako!" she shouted. "I'm starving, feed me!" she screamed as she literally launched herself into the brunette's arms surprising her so badly that she fell backwards.
"Ah, Mina…"
Mina wrapped her arms around Makoto's neck. She was not afraid to take drastic measures if needed either way she would be eating.
"Mako-chan please, pretty please no one cooks better than you do, you know that."
It took everything Makoto had to stop from breaking into a triumphant grin not that she would ever toot her own horn or anything but she definitely had confidence in her cooking ability. She knew what Mina was doing though. She was trying to goad her into cooking.
"Nice try Mina flattery will not work here."
"Aw," She pouted again. "You're no fun since we got married. If this is how you're going to be from now on Mako we're going to have to seriously talk."
All Makoto could do was sigh in exasperation. The blond was simply too much sometimes. She then quickly realized that Mina was still in her lap and they were very close right now. Makoto swallowed.
"Mina…"
"H-Hai,"
"Will you please get off?"
"Eh," she blinked. "Oh," she suddenly smiled at Makoto's clear discomfort. "Mako-chan there's no need to be embarrassed I mean after all we're like hitched now."
Makoto shook her head.
"Okay cut it out with all that crap and get off of me before I remove you."
"Ouch, you're so very grouchy in the mornings. Mako, are you always like this?"
The green-eyed female shook her head.
"I'm only like this when crazy friends convince me to go out drinking and change my life forever."
Mina grinned then to the brunette's surprise she pecked her cheek.
"Mako you're really sweet when you want to be you know that?"
"Uh…Mina?"
Mina had to know that she didn't mean that as a compliment in anyway.
"Um never mind. Mina," she called.
"Yes,"
"Seriously will you get off?"
"Okay, okay I will but on one condition."
Makoto didn't think she wanted to know but would take her chances if it meant to get the blonde to stop playing around.
"F-Fine what is it?"
"You have to feed me. I am hungry Mako, so again I'll ask darling…." She stressed the word for she knew it would bother the green-eyed female tremendously.
Makoto simply closed her eyes.
"What's for breakfast?"
Several different ideas ran through Makoto's head at the moment. Ideas like slap-a-bitch sunny side up or a healthy strangle the blonde in her sleep fruit smoothie. She shook her head and tried to rid herself of those rather violent thoughts.
"Alright, fine I'll make some breakfast but give me a second to pull myself together ok, and shower and change my clothes. Just get off of me will you!"
"Hai, "she spoke for she had won this round. "Maybe being married won't be so bad." She thought to herself.
The brunette was now on her feet. Her head wasn't spinning nearly as much as it had been before but she couldn't help but wonder how much longer that would last especially with the bubbly, blonde in her apartment.
"Come on Mako quit spacing out. The quicker you shower the faster I, I mean we eat so hurry, or do you need some help?" she said with another sexy wink.
Makoto raised an eyebrow to the blue-eyed girl.
"N-No…" she stuttered out. 'I'm good."
Mina sighed. "Alright but don't take too long okay. I want to shower too, or we could shower together you know save water and all that junk."
"Mina…" Makoto gripped her fist slightly. The blonde really was trying her patience.
"Aw come on Mako-chan, lighten up a little here. This whole marriage thing might not be so bad."
"Yeah, uh about that…" the brown-haired girl started as she ran a hand through her hair. "Never mind we'll talk later."
She didn't think she could talk about their current situation right now, especially since it was still so very fresh in her head. The room suddenly felt very heavy and tense neither one of the girls liked that. Mina simply decided to break the silence. She gave Makoto a cheery smile.
"Yeah, sure Mako-chan, just get a move on or I won't get to shower either and we'll never eat."
"Ok, okay I gotcha. Try not to do any damage while I'm gone okay."
"Roger," Mina smiled. "Huh, what, that's no fair."
But the brunette was long gone already leaving Mina alone for the time being. The blonde let out a sigh. Makoto was definitely not embracing the situation with optimism at all.
"Then again I can't blame her. We were probably really drunk."
She still couldn't remember much of anything. She only remembered inviting Makoto out to have fun and course the drinks.
"Yeah, a lot of drinks."
There had to be a lot of drinks for them to end up with no memories and even having gone as far as getting married. Main's eyes went back to the marriage certificate. It looked to be legit not only that but they were both wearing wedding rings. Her eyes then traveled to the ring.
"It's not flashy or anything but it just feels kind of nice."
She knew eventually though that she and Makoto were going to have to sit down and talk. For now though she didn't think she wanted to stop admiring the ring. As she was getting lost in her thoughts something very important hit her.
"Wait, whose last names do we use here?"
Deciding that question needed an answer right now the blond ran off to locate the brunette. Said brunette was indeed in the shower. The quiet as well as the heat of the warm water was soothing to the disturbed green-eyed girl. How in the hell could her life have changed so drastically in a day? She went from being single and not really looking for anything to married to one of her best friends.
"This is so unreal. I've got to be dreaming or something." Makoto thought to herself but deep down knew that wasn't true. She had woken up with her arms wrapped around the blue-eyed girl, a splitting headache, no memories, a wedding ring on her finger and a marriage certificate that said she was no longer single.
"But to be married to…" she paused. "One of my best friends."
She honestly didn't know what or how to think. It was a little too much to begin to process.
"Well maybe if she weren't…." the brown-haired girl cut off the water and then stepped out of the shower. As she was reaching for a towel the door suddenly burst open.
"Mako-chan,"
"Ah," the green-eyed girl screamed with the towel instantly covering herself.
"Oh," Mina blushed red slightly.
"Mina!" Makoto shouted. "What the hell?"
"Uh, s-sorry, I uh didn't realize."
"You do realize the meaning of a shower right? Didn't you think to knock?"
"Eh, not really." The blue-eyed female noticed how the brown-haired girl seemed to be holding on rather tightly to the towel. Sure Mina couldn't see anything however the curves of Makoto's body were clearly visible.
"I…" her mind then went blank for a split second as it went into the gutter. Perhaps that towel could fall off or be dropped to the ground somehow.
"Hello earth to Mina? What's up with you?"
"Oh," Mina snapped back to reality then remembered why she had come running into the bathroom in the first place. "Yeah, hey since we're obviously married now since the license says so. Whose last name do we use?"
It took all the strength Makoto had to keep from falling flat on the ground again. Did Mina seriously come barging in to the bathroom while she took a shower to ask a question that could have waited until later? Or better yet it didn't have to be asked at all. Makoto coughed loudly.
"M-Mina, you're not serious right now? Are you?"
"Oh you bet I 'am." the blonde nodded. "So what is it, are you Makoto Aino? Am I Minako Kino? Or better yet." She smiled. "How about we just hyphen it. "I think Aino-Kino has a nice ring to it."
Makoto's mouth flew wide open but there were no words formed right away. Makoto took a breath before pointing towards the door.
"Mina!" she shouted. "Out, get out right now."
The blue-eyed female flinched. "B-But….Mako…"
"Get out okay. This is not the time or place to talk about this. For the record who said anything about using your name first?"
Mina's eyes lit up instantly. It sounded as if Makoto cared or better yet was the brunette beginning to open up to the idea of marriage.
"Heh, heh, Mako-chan I think you're loosening up." She thought.
"Anyway get out okay I need to get dressed. You still want to eat at some point don't you?"
"Okay." Mina sighed. "I'll go. I'll go but for the record Mako you don't have to cover up for me. I'll eventually see it all anyway."
Instantly the brunette turned red. She clenched her fist. "M-Mina, out!" she pointed to the door while biting down on her bottom lip.
Mina let out an amused giggle. It was too easy to mess with Makoto, way too easy.
"Okay sweetie I'll go. You get dressed so that we can eat already. I'm starved."
She was nothing if not consistent. The green-eyed female simply sighed in defeat and the next thing she heard had been was the door closing.
"This is unbelievable." Makoto thought while she dressed. Also knowing it probably was too much to hope that she may very well still be asleep and that hopefully this dream would end soon.
"Nope I think it's already been established that I'm not dreaming."
She needed a distraction of sorts so she figured once in the kitchen she could probably forget for a while. As the green-eyed girl left the bathroom she spotted the blonde sitting on the couch with a thoughtful expression on her face. Makoto found herself staring at her for a few moments. When Mina was calm and not so hyper she seemed almost angelic.
"Mako-chan what's wrong?"
"Hm," hearing Mina's voice brought her back to reality. "Oh, uh…"
"You were just staring into space. Are you okay?"
Makoto gave a nod. "I'm fine. Oh, the shower is all yours okay."
"Yeah, thanks."
There was a slight moment of awkwardness between the two women as Makoto headed to the kitchen and Mina headed to take a shower of her own. Neither of the two liked the weird feeling they received.
"We can't go on like this." Makoto thought.
"Things feel so weird. I hope this isn't what the rest of our life is going to be like."
Mina found herself wanting to give this a go and be optimistic. She however did not know exactly where Makoto stood on the issue. They certainly did need to talk.
"Hey Mina, hurry or I just may change my mind about making breakfast." The green-eyed female teased lightly.
Mina smiled playfully and stuck her tongue out at her.
"You're terrible Mako-chan. You'd really let me starve huh? We're going to have to talk about those wife skills of yours."
All Makoto could do was watch as the blue-eyed girl headed for the shower.
"Oh yeah, we definitely need to talk. I know."
