Forgotten

A/N: I'm totally not procrastinating.
I'm not going to make these chapters too long, then I can hopefully update more frequently.

I stared out the gap blankly, watching as the sun disappeared, leaving behind a dim glow in the sky.
The longer I sat here, the more I regretted not reaching out, maybe he would have helped me get me out of here and- ... then what?

I realised my only thought for the past years I'd spent in this room was to get out of here, not once had I even thought what I would do if I did ever get out. Where would I go? What would I do? I had no idea what a normal life was like, what people did with their free lives. Most seemed to just wander about, talking and buying things, there were some though, the ones in the uniforms, I'd seen some come back injured, and sometimes they didn't come back at all. Would that happen to me? Would I even last 5 minutes out there? I heard them say things, say things I didn't understand. Whatever they said was muffled, the voice they used to communicate with each other was lost to me. I didn't know how to speak. I'd sometimes try to repeat what they said, but I could never clearly hear what they were saying. If I had no idea how to communicate with them, how long would I last? I began to wonder if it was better not to leave, looking around my barren room.

... I'd figure something out.

That is, if I ever did managed to get out in the first place. I turned back to the gap in the window, the sky was still fairly light, but I could already see the stars coming out and the air from outside was beginning to cool. Outside was quiet and still, which made the sound of wood suddenly breaking all the more startling. I jumped to my feet, eyes wide, heart pounding and legs trembling slightly,' Wood doesn't just break like that on its own... So who's there?' I thought. All was silent for a moment, then there was the sound of footprints, they were slow and steady, and with them was that sound again, the sound of... sand moving? An image flashed in my mind, the memory of the boy with the crimson hair I'd seen moments ago, was he here? The steps were becoming louder as whoever it was came closer, and I found myself holding my breath when the steps stopped in front of the door. I felt my heart beat fast and heavy, the only thing I could do was stand here and wait for whoever it was to open the door. I couldn't hide even if I wanted to, the room was completely empty, I could try attacking but I had nothing for a weapon and I was too weak, besides what if they were friendly?

I listened closely, eyes locked on the door as the boards on the other side of the door groaned and broke, like they were being torn off. The doorknob rattled, locked and rusted, and my whole body froze, hearing the rushing of sand and something click. Slowly, the door opened, I stood locked in place, holding my breath and trying to stop my hand from trembling as I watched the door swing wide open.

He was taller than me, with crimson hair and pale green eyes outlined in a thick black. He stood tall and firm, arms folded and an expressionless face, his eyes casting over my pale figure. I stood a little taller, taking a small, slow step back, my shoulder resting against the rough, dusty wooden planks, my eyes locked onto his. He made no move towards nor away from me, merely standing there. I'm not sure how long passed, but it didn't really matter, because when he finally did something, that's the beginning of when everything changed.

" Who are you?"

A/N: I'm sorry it took me so long to do this, I thought I should actually create somewhat of a plot to this before continuing... not that I really did but you know I thought about it.

Maybe if you guys have any ideas of what the hell should be happening you can tell me?
