When Boris woke, it was a sunny day. Artyom was sitting next to him. He almost yelled ANOTHER DAY IN THE ZONE, BLYAT before realizing his surroundings. He was in an alley in a rather large city, though he didn't know until he climbed to the roof of the shop he slept behind. What he saw was an endless sea of houses and roads. It looked like an ocean of beauty, like he was staring at heaven. He looked down at his gear and saw something. A red bottle sat upon his pack. He climbed down from his perch and read the label. "Devil's Kiss" it was called. He broke the top off by banging it against the corner of the wall and drank it in one swig. At first he felt nothing, but soon he saw flames begin to sprout on his arms and hands. When he tried to put them out, they just popped up in other places. Just when he thought he would die, the fires evaporated and his arms were normal again. Boris threw the bottle to the corner of the alley and saw it shatter.
"Blyat," was all he could say, "What was that." He looked at his hands and got and idea. He snapped his fingers and a small flame, like a lighter, ignited on his index finger. "Oi blin!" he said, "I must thank whoever gave me this."
Boris then took inventory. Considering he had no guns, he disposed of his ammo. He still had his knife at his side and his axe leaned against the alley wall. He tossed his burner as his new fire abilities could substitute it and he needed as much free space as possible. He kept all the food that won't be eaten for breakfast later in the bag. His MP3 player and earbuds were unharmed by the trip. Then, a sudden noise caught his attention. He turned to see his cat Artyom asking for food. He looked through his bag and found some canned fish for him. Leaving him for a moment, Boris ate his breakfast consisting of butterbrod. After eating, he put on his axe's strap. It was a simple leather strap with 3 rings on the back;2 to hold it to him and 1 with a bottom to keep it from slipping. It was angled to be over his right shoulder. He then heard the sound of footsteps rapidly approaching.
"Artyom, hide," he said in a hushed tone. He began to climb the wall again and looked down once at the top. A kid in what looked to be clothing similar to his arrived. He was wet and carrying his jacket under his arms.
'Is this the boy Lutece was talking about? He looks only 18 blyat' thought the Slav. The boy sat on the stairs in the darker part of the alley. Boris quietly climbed down and listened.
"Is this how it's supposed to be? Because NONE OF IT MAKES SENSE!" the teenager yelled in frustration, "THIS IS A DIFFERENT WORLD SUMMONS, RIGHT? WHERE'S MY MAIN CHARACTER SETUP AND STATUS BAR? Damn." Boris chuckled, and the teenager heard him. He looked back to see a man in yellow with a mask over his face. He jumped and fell in a graceless manner, earning a hearty laugh from the Slav.
"It's alright debil," he said, taking off his axe strap, "I'm not here to kill you."
"Well what are you here for?" asked the kid.
"You came to where I was. I just hid from you until you passed." Boris replied, "Say, where did you get those clothes?"
"Y-y-you wouldn't know it. It's not from around here," stuttered the teen.
Boris smiled, "I think I might. My name is Boris. What is yours?"
"S-Subaru Natsuki," he replied, "Where are you from, Boris, if you don't mind me asking?"
Boris chuckled, "I am from the Ukraine, but born in Russia. And you?"
"Japan."
"OPA!" yelled the Slav, startling Subaru, " So we are of the same world, yes?"
"Clearly."
"Then I say we should stick together. What are the people like? I only woke up an hour ago." Asked the Russian with new found vigor."
"Well, there are normal humans and cat people, reptile people, and other strange ones I haven't even found yet." said the Asian. Boris was about to speak, but a sudden voice interrupted them.
"Well what's this?"
3 men started walking down the alley with the sunlight to their backs, so only their outline showed. One was tall and muscular, another tall but slim, and the final one was quite short.
"I'll handle this," said Boris, "HELLO, dear bandits." They stopped in their tracks. "I would kindly ask that you come no closer on pain of death." The slim one toke a step forward.
"Yeah, and what if we d-" he was quickly drowned out by a little girl.
"Move it. MOVE IT!" she yelled as she entered the alley.
Subaru perked up, "Finally! Are you the cute girl who summoned me?" Boris slowly turned his head to Subaru.
"Summoned," started the girl, "I don't know what your talking about but I'm really busy. Sorry. Now live strong, okay." She then jumped to the wall on their right and rebounded to the roof.
Subaru looked mortified, "Wait, what? Where are you going?" He looked at Boris.
"I don't know where you specifically are from, but please don't be so stupid with me around blyat," came the Russians voice, "She would have said more than move if she cared about your existence." Their attention returned to the muggers, who had gotten within range to be identified clearly. The slim one had blue hair, the muscular one was actually quite fat, and the midget was a strange looking being.
"So what n-" Boris started as Subaru threw a haymaker at the fat one. He flew quite some distance before the teen kicked the midget. However when he charged the blue-haired one, the mugger drew 2 knives from behind his back. Subaru skidded to a halt
and proceeded to beg for mercy at his feet. Boris watched and laughed at the last part. This caught the attention of the mugger. "Hey, you," he said, "Give me your money or your friend dies." He pointed his knife at Subaru's throat. By this time the fat one and the midget were on their feet, aiding their friend. Boris thought of fighting them all, but he would probably die in the attempt. Just as he was about to give up, a voice came from behind the bandits.
"That's enough."
