Here's a reminder that this is the same story I posted a few years ago I'm just updating it with more details and history and some slight changes. It shouldn't take too long, but just keep in mind that if you're reading this the other chapters will get replaced and updated. We also get very little info about history and the like(why authors, why? There's so much I want to know!) so I'm trying to make a history that matches with what we know from the comics. On Earth, we didn't always have history as we know it. A lot of what we know is based off on archaeology as people always didn't write everything down. We also have legends and myths that may have been based on history, and a lot of things are written down but we don't have 100% proof that they happened and all that, and I assume the same thing happened on Metamoor. Also, please tell me what you think their culture and all that is like, I love hearing others' interpretations. In the comics we see that Phobos has a private garden with a pool of water that he soaks in, yet it doesn't say that the pool is magical or that that's how he absorbs energy. In issue 11 we see him in the Abyss of Shadows which is a separate chamber and we see life-force being drained. And of course we don't know much about both rooms and if he made them or if they're secret chambers that he discovered. So since I reread the comics I'll be changing some things in this chapter from the previous version to make everything fit better. I'm also trying as hard as I can to make my history be as compatible as possible with the few facts we get from the comics.

The next morning, Phobos ate breakfast and went to the classroom as usual. Lord Xavier came in soon after with Cedric and began teaching. After going over the alphabet and math and having a snack, he continued with history.

"Our planet has an unusual history." he began. "The Oracle banished all the evil beings from other worlds to Metamoor, which caused chaos and which is why those times are called The Ages of Chaos. Eventually, people realized that it would be more beneficial to work together and that is what they did. All the people worked together to build cities and live peacefully together. Many of the people built families together. But as time went on, they formed their own tribes and groups and conflict arose. Many of the tribes left and went to live on other parts of the world. Some, like the Kahedrin, stayed and waged war against the others. The Oracle sent Escanor and his men from Earth to help fight the Kahedrin, and after his success the people wanted him and his bride, Leryn, to become the rulers. He accepted but decreed that Leryn would be the one actually ruling while he took charge of the army. The four towers were built to honor Escanor's men Grendal, Brandis, Didier, and Hoel. To honor Escanor and Leryn they had the palace built over a magical pool of water that was said, among other things, to enhance your wisdom, intelligence, and charisma. The Crown of Light was—"

"—There's a magical spring of water underneath the palace? Do you know where it is?" the prince demanded. Lord Xavier was unsure if the prince was allowed to know about it or not, but he figured there was no harm. Besides, the servants were all informed about it so they wouldn't go there(not that there was a reason for them to). So with a gesture he teleported them to the chamber where both boys looked around in wonderment. Phobos immediately went to the small pool and looked at it. It was disappointing in size, but it glowed with power. He stuck his hand in it and twirled it. He then noticed his hand was glowing. He took it out but noticed he felt different. He felt more powerful, as if the spring had given him energy. With a mischievous grin, he aimed his hand at Lord Xavier's feet and released a spray of magic. The tutor let out a surprised yell as he was lifted in to the air and turned upside down, his robes flapping about his ankles. Phobos laughed gleefully while Cedric just stood there dumbly. Phobos put his tutor down after a few more seconds and watched with a grin as the older man slowly got to his feet.

"Your Highness, perhaps we should get back to the lesson?" Lord Xavier asked as he teleported them back to the classroom. The tutor sighed to himself as he resumed teaching. He hoped the prince wouldn't cause too much trouble at his lessons from now on.

As his tutor continued talking, Phobos tried to concentrate on the lesson but his mind kept on wandering to the pool. He couldn't wait to go back and experiment.

Thanks for reading! Here's another reminder that this chapter is an updated and slightly changed version of the previous version. Coming up with Metamoor's history is hard so I understand why the authors wouldn't go into such great detail, but come on! At least they gave us the bit about Escanor coming to Earth, but they gave the bare minimum. And Yan Lin did say that all evil was banished to Metamoor and that's technically history, but there are so many questions about that that we don't get the answers to! We need to make a petition for a Metamoor special!
