Another splendid day to you, fellas. As usual, I don't own Gate or Nazi Germany. This story is being written because fanfiction is filled with generic copy-paste stories and I want there to be something unique, amongst the pile of crap. A glorious diamond shaped dried poop. I am not a good writer, so bear with it as I drag you down the shitter with me. Since you've been good bois and grills, here's another chapter for you.
20th May 1939 - 0900 hrs. - Alnus Hill - Falmart
After coming over the initial shock, Rudolf ran towards the wall mounted intercom. "Achtung! Achtung! Wir werden angegriffen. Eine Großer Drache kommt an." Rudolf shouted into the intercom that was on the balcony of the fort. The operator could not believe what was being said so he asked "Say that again, I didn't hear you properly". Rudolf replied "I said, a giant fucking dragon is coming to attack us. Ready the fucking flak guns and pray to whoever you believe in. SS-Hauptscharführer Rudolf Hiedler reporting in."
The soldiers quickly started to prepare the Flak guns for the dragon. The gunners aimed their sights towards the rapidly closing in flaming red dragon. As soon as the fire command was given, all the Flak batteries fired their shells simultaneously. The 88mm AP shells buzzed through the air, flying straight towards the dragon head on. Some shots missed but the ones that made contact, they made the dragon lose its balance and it came crashing down.
It was the first time that this dragon had felt such pain. It was excruciating and it only made her angry. Yes, it was a female dragon. It was bleeding from its head, wings and arms. But it wasn't a giant red dragon for nothing so it kept crawling forward. Intent on at the very least burning these humans who had hurt her. She was supposed to be hurting them, not vice versa. She wanted to move forward but her vision kept getting darker and she couldn't move any further because 15cm shells of Kanone 16 Field Artillery guns had kept on landing on top of her. Thus the life of this menace ended in a rather anticlimactic way.
Meanwhile, at the balcony of the fort. Rudolf said to one of the other squad leaders "That was rather boring. By the looks of it, I had thought this dragon would have been tougher. But it died with a few Flak and Artillery hits. Guess it wasn't so tough, huh." and Gunther jokingly said "At least you showed seriousness for the first time, you always act like a clown". You see, these two had more or less grown up together and were friends since childhood so it was a routine for each of them to take a jab at the other. Such is the bond of friendship.
20th May 1939 - 1200 hrs. - Alnus Hill - Falmart
After this recent engagement, a report was sent back to Berlin regarding the Dragon attack. The report included complete details about the scales of the dragon along with its blood samples and a few scales. The corpse of the dragon was reduced to a smaller size and sent through the Gate as well.
20th May 1939 - 1300 hrs. –Reichskanzlei - Berlin, Germany
Once the report was presented to the Führer. The Führer along with Reichsmarshall Hermann Göring and Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler read the report and it was determined that the SS units along with Luftwaffe support would cross further into Empire territory and take it over. Suitable areas for mines, factories, laboratories and concentration camps shall be taken so that they could profit from this new world. These new orders were sent to the Standartenführer Hermann Fegelein who was in charge of the Neuwelt Troops.
31st May 1939 –Reichskanzlei - Berlin, Germany
It was decided that Germany shall form agreements with various nations to avoid further global tension for now. There had been some meetings arranged with prominent British, French, Soviet and Polish ministers.
A non-aggression pact with Soviets was to be made. Separate peaceful talks were being planned with Poles regarding the secession of the free city of Danzig under the auspice of German support of Polish Armed Forces in case of Soviet aggression towards Poland. It was decided that the Poles will be reminded of a simple thing that the Brits and French can't help them, not at least until it is too late. Also that if they were to accept the Danzig deal, they will benefit from German resource sharing and possible lands from the Soviets if a war was to happen. Some details of Neuwelt will be shared with them, albeit only minor ones. Reichsminister of Foreign Affairs Joachim von Ribbentrop would be busy for a while.
The whole Gate event had changed the situation in Europe. Before it was on the brink of war, well it still is but you know; things will be different. Poor Poland stuck between two giants with promised support from the British and French which most likely will never come. The Germans had begun amassing large amounts of troops at the Germany-Poland Border.
Various plans were made to increase the size of troops assigned in the Special Region from a mere Brigade to a proper Division or Multiple Divisions. Many doctors, engineers, chemists etc. will be assigned to the Special Region as well. On these plans, under the Doctors list on the last page. A certain "Josef Mengele" was mentioned and came highly recommended.
June 1939 – Alnus Region, Falmart
The Germans had managed to secure the nearby villages and a hidden elven village. They were shocked at their discovery of elves. They had blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin with the only exception of pointy ears and longevity of life. This was reported back in Berlin to Reichskulturkammer and was considered a marvelous revelation. The human villagers were captured and brought over to the concentration camps to house them where they will work, and sometimes be studied on. Also, the discovery of magic was yet another boon which would prove useful if the Germans could learn it. A few of these people that could use magic were encouraged to move closer to the Gate in specially made laboratories at Alnus Hill so that they could be useful to the Reich. This Gate had been a blessing, a blessing that Germans intended to take full advantage of.
20th July 1939 - Two months since the Occupation of Alnus Hill – Empire's Capital - Falmart
Back at the Imperial Senate, Emperor Molt Sol Augustus was being bothered by his senators about the recent events that have transpired at the Holy Hills of Alnus. Their thousands of troops being slaughtered in such a short period of time and the Prince missing as well, presumed dead. The thick headed senators were also worried about the vassal nations possibly revolting since the loss of Imperial Troops could make it easier for them to become free. So the Emperor devised an evil plan "Quiet, we can use this to our advantage. Summon all the vassal armies and have them attack Alnus Hill. Our Empire has faced obstacles before, but we always came out stronger than before. This time is no different. So do not be worried."; which would result in the vassal armies being crushed completely and not posing a threat to Empire. Besides, the enemy has so far shown that they are content with remaining at Alnus Hill so they can be dealt with later. Oh but little did he know that the Germans are coming for him, sooner or later.
Princess Piña Co Lada had confronted her father; Emperor Molt about what he plans on doing about the occupied Alnus Hill. The Emperor took advantage of her stubbornness and tasked her with finding information about the enemies at the Hill. Pina was a bit angered at this but she then departed the Capital with her knights and headed in the direction of Alnus Hill. She will finish this task and confront her father again. Her trip will take her about a month and a half of riding nonstop towards the hill but of course, she needs to rest along the way for sustenance etc. so it will take even more time. The time that neither she nor her nation have.
26th August 1939 - Alnus Hill - Falmart
Once the vassal armies had arrived at the location of Alnus Hill, they were shocked to see that the enemy had already taken over the nearby villages and fortified the area. But they decided that with such overwhelming numbers they can secure victory over the Germans. King Duran remained at unease about the whole situation and shared his concerns with King Mudwan to which he replied "It seems even the Lion of Elbe has been affected by the passing of time". "It's not that, my friend. I am just curious as to where is the Imperial Army and why are just our armies here." Said King Duran of Elbe. "Ha-ha. Just Relax, my friend. This will be an easy victory for us. We outnumber our enemies by at the very least tenfold" replied King Mudwan. "I hope you're right my friend. For both our sake and our soldiers' as well." King Duran said.
As they progressed further, they noticed signboards that had the following message "If you cross any further, beyond this point. You will be annihilated and those who survive, will suffer a fate worse than death. This is your last chance." Undeterred by such signs, the vassal armies took this as a sign of weakness. After all, who gives warnings like these. Only fools do, the ones who are bluffing.
Well, they were warned. So it was time for the show to begin.
The Germans opened fire at the enemies. Artillery shells, bullets, mustard gas etc. rained havoc amongst the vassal armies. They were expecting glory but they only found death and destruction. At this moment, King Duran realized just what had been done. He was played like a fool, just like the other vassal kings. The emperor knew about the enemy, their capabilities and sent the vassal armies knowingly so that they would die and pose no threat to his rule. King Duran could only curse the Emperor as a stray 150mm HE shell landed right next to him, detonated and sent mud and shrapnel flying directly over towards his body and maimed him leaving him an unrecognizable mass of flesh.
This was a massacre, the survivors who had seen this destruction; they fled like chickens with their heads cut off. They ran and ran till their feet bled. They thanked whatever Gods they could, they will live. They might be cowards but they'll live. A fate far better than those who were left behind.
3rd September 1939 - Italica City – Falmart
The Imperial soldiers who had survived the Alnus massacre had formed a bandit group over the course of time and they decided it would be easier to just loot the nearby cities or become rulers themselves. It was a large group of almost a thousand former soldiers with a few demi-humans too. The nearest city was Italica, which was ruled by the daughter of a vassal king who had perished at the Alnus Hill. So this was going to be very easy. At least they hoped as such.
Princess Piña had arrived at Italica after learning little to nothing about the enemy from beyond the Gate but she stayed at this city as the bandits had attacked the city. She decided to help defend the city with her knights. They had gathered all the men and armed them with whatever they could. Pitchforks, spears, shovels, bows etc. Women and children helped prepare oil, traps and spikes. These people were peasants but they had to fight for their survival.
Then the bandits attacked them, they came from all over. They had attacked the Southern side first which had been damaged extensively but the inhabitants of the city persisted and repelled the attack. As for Northern, Eastern and Western sides. It was somewhat more serious. The walls hadn't been damaged that much but the arrows launched by the bandits had managed to kill quite a few people. The morale was falling low. The bandits had retreated for now so at least that was something.
Princess Piña was exhausted and sweating a lot. Growing up as a spoiled princess and playing around as knights with her fellow noblewomen. She formed her own Knight group when she grew up. For the most part, they were just ceremonial knights. They had learned combat from various renowned and skilled trainers. But at the end of the day, they still had no proper battle experience.
The Head maid of the Formal House had asked her "How are we going to win against these bandits, Princess? We don't have proper soldiers, all the soldiers went to Alnus Hill and never returned. Can we even win? What is the point of even fighting?" to which Princess replied "We have to fight no matter what. If we lose, we will suffer a fate worse than death. I am sure I will manage to survive maybe once, but against 10's of men. I wonder, Countess Myu is young but I am sure that amongst the bandits; there might be some sickos who like them young". The head maid visibly gasped "How can you say that Princess? She's too young."
"That's why we have to fight to the bitter end. Our survival depends upon it" the Princess said. Then her knight entered the room and appeared to be in a hurry. "Gray, what is wrong? Why are you so out of breath?" asked Pina. "I am sorry Princess, but you won't believe what I am about to say. There's an unknown army heading towards Italica. They ride in strange carriages made of metal and they carry a red flag" said Gray; one of the senior male knight in her group. "What? Who are they? Are they the enemy from beyond the Gate? Of all times, now? We have to send word back to the Capital. We don't have enough men. Send pigeons or something. This day couldn't possibly get any worse."
***At first, I was planning on the humans of Falmart being treated somewhat okay-ishly but this story is about Nazis so we can't have them acting benign. So reading the review by loltuan123, I decided to go the pure Nazi route***
**Don't worry, the Apostles will be in the story as well. Just in a different manner. For now, they are in a different place. They will be useful in the progress of the Reich. For now, Europe is stable so no wars shall start. At least, not the global ones. I am planning on writing two chapters at a time. So I have something to release later, while I write the next chapters. So that this poor deformed child will survive rather than being abandoned in this cruel world to suffer a harsh fate**
