Author note: I forgot to mention Sean never came back. And Manny and Jay never dated. Ok. ALSO, to know what Elliot looks like, he's Elliot from Law and Order. As for Ray, Jay's little sister, She's very young Dakota Fanning, like in the movie Trapped. You know what the rest of his siblings look like because they're from the new cast of Degrassi. Alright, here we goo...

NEXT CHAPTER:

Elliot clapped his hands together, grinning happily with a toothy smile, "You must be the Simpsons!" He was tall, looked almost in his mid 40's, and was fit but since so tall, it seemed natural on him. He had dark brown hair, with a bit of silver grey on the sides. He looked good for his age, but Emma felt something wierd about him as she eyed the man she and Manny were to stay with for next few weeks; possibly months.

Manny had to laugh, turning her head to Emma who tried to bite her lip from smiling as well. What'd they look like? Bart and Lisa?

"No sir," corrected Detective Daniels, their bags still in his hands, "That's her father's last name." He pointed at Emma, "And This one," he pointed at Manny, "Share's no blood connection to the family, just lives with them. This is Manny Santos, and that's Emma Nelson."

"Well come on in Emma and Manny-"

"Daddy, who is it!" a young, very blonde, girl ran to his side, hugging his leg and trying to peak at the new 'friends' coming to stay with them! That's how her Dad, Elliot, explained new teenagers who came to live with them now and then. Those teenagers were just kids who needed places to stay while going through trial or mid foster homes.

Elliot was like a foster parent to those who won't be staying long; just to help them for the meantime. It was good money.

"Emma, Manny, this is Ray." he smiled happily at his little girl. She still wore her little school uniform, and she was a stick; kind of reminded Emma of herself when she was little, minus the height. The girl was also missing her front right tooth; but it looked so cute. "Come on in!" Elliot insisted, moving out of the way.

Emma smiled as friendly as she could when he kept smiling at her, and to Manny. They squeezed through the door after Detective Daniels and when they did, two other figures were skipping down the stairs and stopped by Elliot. Something in their eyes told Emma they weren't happy to see her, though, they kept their eyes down when Elliot introduced them next.

"Ah, you caught my other two kids! This never happens," he chuckled to Daniels and muttered, "They're usually off somewhere without telling me."

"Kids." Daniels joked and bellowed a laugh, having his own who did that too.

Emma though, suspected more of a bitter tone when she caught Elliot glare at his two kids before pulling them in front of him and then spoke softer, "This is Zig, and Imogen. Ray is 5, Zig is 14, and Imogen is 13 going on 30." he joked to her, squeezing the girls shoulders who had light brown hair that she often put up in piggy tail buns. Zig looked like a young Sean, both Emma and Manny shared a side smile for that. He had that 'bad boy' image going on but had such a baby face.

There was probably nothing to fear about him.

And there wasn't.

They were missing which exact man to fear in this house. And it wasn't the next one that entered the house.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

Both girls turned, and Emma recognized that deep voice before she turned and her eyes burned back into the grey orbs she longed to try and forget. The guy who took her 'innocence' but knew she was anything but. The only guy to know Emma had some darkness in her too, a craving, a bad girl in her little good girl charade. She shared secretswith him that she's never shared with anyone before.

Last she heard, he was some mechanic now after dropping out of high school and now was only seen at the Dot time to time. She hadn't seen him since their 'affair' almost a year and half ago since she had to mostly focus on her problems this year, like her anorexia, Peter, the break up and all this now. Now, she stood in front of him again...

Jay Hogart.

"You." Manny almost spat, her mouth dropping and looking to Emma worriedly. This was NOT good

Instead of responding, Jay just glared at them and then his father. "Why are they here?" his eyes still held what looked like burning hatred. Emma guessed it was directed at her. Only his looks could really kill.

Elliot went to reply, "They have-"

"It's none of his business," Emma snapped and then caught Elliot's look of shock and she went red, "Sorry," she muttered and looked between him and Daniels, then shot Jay a look like she wasn't happy about this either.

Daniels cleared his throat, "YOu have complete right to with hold information. Elliot knows everything though."

Emma nodded, a bit red now that she had snapped like that, but it was because she didn't want Jay to know. He almost didn't have the RIGHT to, he had hurt her in the past and besides, if he did find out, whose to say he wouldn't use the information against her? Emma eyed him, and he stared down at her back before sighing and pushed past her.

"I could care less." he hissed with that, and vanished out of site.

Emma let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. He looked the same, same ol' backwards hat, it was black, and his hair had grown out a bit. He had to be 18 now. He was still tall, and lean, but missing the old large wind breaker- which was nice, since his dark blue shirt fit him snugly- Emma shook her head.

She would not live under the same roof as that womanizing, arrogant, evil s.o.b

Emma jumped out of the way of the 5 year old Ray, who ran after what was probably her older brother. "Jaaay!" she sang almost, running after him.

Emma blinked, and tilted her head to gaze where Jay turned a corner and went of site. Who knew he had siblings? And it seemed the small girl almost had an attachement to him. EMma didn't know anyone would WANT to be attached to Jay Hogart; unlike the ho-bags down at the ravine.

She wondered if he still went there.

"Lets show you to your rooms!"

Emma snapped out of it and blushed, nodding.

(((***)))

"So this is nice." Manny said, peaking into Emma's room after she set her own up.

Emma sat miserably on her new bed, in her new room. Staying with the Hogarts. This was going to be interesting. She had the top floor, and a nice balcony and large window in front of her bed. It was huge and spacious, with a lamp next to the bed and dresser. Tv screwed into the wall across her room. Her walls were light, pale pink, and her bed covers were white. Manny's room was the same but red walls and black blanket.

"I guess." Emma muttered.

Manny landed on the bed beside her and sighed, "I know, Jay Hogart, who knew right?" she looked at the cieling and giggled, "and raised in a house like this? He acted like some..."

"Street thug?" Emma asked.

"Yea." laughed Manny with her. "Who knew he was really just a rich bastard."

"Maybe we don't know the whole story." Emma mumbled, not knowing where that came from. But she remembered the days Jay practically lived at The Ravine, or at his ex Alex's house, or sometimes crashed with Sean alot. Why was that if he lived in this beautiful home?

Maybe it wasn't so beautiful . .. . .

"Huh?"

Emma blinked and looked at Manny, "What?"

"You said something." Manny shrugged and waited for her to explain

"I don't remember." Emma admitted and stood up, grabbing Manny's arm and pulled her up. "Lets go explore the house-"

"Don't do that." they heard a voice and both Manny and Emma yelped in fright, turning to Imogen who had peaked in their room. She was goregous, and she looked a lot like Jay kind of; same hair color, eyes, slight natural tan color of skin.

"You know that's creepy right hon?" Manny joked to the younger girl.

Emma laughed a little too until she frowned at the serious look on Imogens face who looked behind her, and snuck a bit more into the room, "Please don't snoop around." she whispered, "It'll get him mad."

'And you won't like him when he's angry', the hulks movie quote sounded in Emma's head, making her giggle a little but oddly watch Imogen rush out the door after that.

"Wierd." Emma noted.

Manny nodded, tilted her head and furrowing her perfect shaped eyebrows. "Really wierd."

"DINNNNNEEERRR!" they heard a high pitch squeel, that could of only been Ray. The two went down to go eat, but Emma glanced back in her 'new room' before closing the door behind her with a bad gut feeling.

(((***)))

Oddly, Emma felt a little better when she entered the kitchen. The whole family, even Jay, sat at the dining table. Elliot must of ordered food and vanished with his own plate because he wasn't there for dinner.

"Do you like chicken chow?" Imogen asked Emma, making room for her to come sit. The dining table was like a big booth. Jay sat across from Emma and the blonde muttered to Imogen a bit shyly.

"I'm vegetarian."

Imogen seemed to sigh happily, "Good." she took Emma's supply of chicken show and dug in, making even Jay chuckle.

Emma smiled rolling her eyes and Manny 'yummed' from beside her, digging into the food herself and Zig sat across from her, sticking his fork into the same egg roll she went for.

"That's mine." Zig simply noted, raising an eyebrow at her.

Ray, from beside Jay, went to slowly eat her rice as it dripped down her shirt from the anticipation between Zig and Manny glaring at another.

"ya well, I'm the guest." Manny shot him a more fierce look, and won that egg roll, happily dropping it on her plate. Imogen even laughed when Zig frowned and leaned back, biting into the rest of what he had.

After a few minutes of them all eating, Ray was full and practically falling asleep on Zig who sat on the other side of her, and he too rubbed his full belly. Imogen had left to go study, and Jay eyed Emma's untouched plate.

"You gonna eat, Greenpeace?"

Emma looked up, shocked to hear him talking to her and then glanced at her plate to tense. She hadn't noticed she wasn't eating anything; but that must be bad. For being a recovering- well, you know, that wasn't a good thing to not be eating. She swore it was only there was a lot on her mind right now; and adding living with Jay to that, didn't help. She caught Manny turn her head to look at her as well.

"I will." Emma snapped at them both, but more Manny, and grabbed her fork. Couldn't Jay mind his own business? She snuck a glance at him as she chewed slowly, hoping he wouldn't catch her. She swallowed hard, seeing him just giving her that wolfish look of his, his full lips looking naturally pout-ish as always and his arm resting on the booth top and he leaned back so smooth and cooly.

What was going on in that head of his?

Oh boy. The temperature of this house was getting way too warm for only being October 3rd. Maybe she could ask one of them to turn it down?

His eyes finally ripped off her, nudging his little Ray's arm, "Let's go sprout." the blonde girl groaned but nodded, sitting up and getting off her other brothers arm. Zig crawled out so she could bounce out and Jay slid out next, bringing her to bed

Emma cornered her eyes, watching them go. It was a little 'cute', but she be damned to ever say that out loud.

"Jay-Jay will you read me a stor-e?" Ray asked on the way up, and Emma heard him grumble in response until their footsteps faded away.

Emma bit her lip smiling until she even heard Manny gush, "Awwww," Manny stopped when Emma nudged her, "What?!" Manny then paused, and sighed. "I've been single way too long." she admitted. Sure Manny knew Jay was bad news, but she couldn't deny he was hot stuff with a bad cherry on top. "Maybe this place won't be so bad after all."

Emma leaned back, now just playing with her food .

Great. Manny wanted to go for Jay.

Thing just kept getting better, and better.

((((***))))

Emma was getting ready for bed, just having showered in her personal bathroom and had to admit she loved the space of this house and what she had. Manny had texted her on her cellphone from down the hall, insisting the same thing.

Emma giggled a bit, putting her phone down and now had semi-dry hair. Her face was clean, and glowing from her sun kissed tan. She wore a white tank top and snug grey pants for bed.

She gasped, when her door knocked.

She went over, and creaked it open, shocked to see Jay Hogart leaning on her door frame and he turned his head when she opened it a bit. She opened her mouth, but she was speechless.

What was he doing here?

He too looked wordless for a second, before he avoided her eyes and itched the back of his neck, "I know why your here; gossip spreads fast at The Dot."

Emma's mouth fell, and she tried to stop the tears from coming. "You ass-" he stopped her from slamming the door on him with his foot. He leaned close, too close, Emma gasped a bit.

"Weather or not it's true that your Step Daddy is some-"

"He's not!"

"Ours is."

Emma felt taken back, and she saw the tensity and was that...worry? in his eyes.

"Is what?" she whispered,a bit of fear rising. She had a feeling she knew what he meant though, and she was playing stupid for reason of fear.

They both looked down the hall with a small gasp from Emma when Elliots bedroom light went on. Jay turned to Emma quick, and grabbed her arm, making her wince a tiny bit. "Just lock your door. Got it?" he nearly had snapped at her and walked off, going down the stairs after he grabbed his jacket from off the banister and pulled it over his shoulders.

He looked like he was in a rush to go, that if Elliot caught him, he might be in some big rouble.

Emma too shut her door, leaning on it and looking around with fright in her eyes. What did Jay mean by that? Was he messing with her head? Who would joke about that? Elliot seemed so nice. . . .

Reviews! Authors note guys ! How you liking it so far? I'm re-booting it and fixing tons of my past spelling mistakes and putting more detail in but trying to stick with the same story. So Jay's coming up, and soon so will this evil of a Step father. What do you think is in for Emma and Manny ? Or Emma and Jay? Hehe.
