Chapter 2
I begin to walk deeper into the woods being slowly engulfed by the dark of night. The silence and the darkness is somehow calming to me, but unfortunately it did not last. I soon heard the crunching of snow behind me. It was quiet and light, so every once and while it would pause for a moment before continuing. It must be some sort of animal, but what kind of animal would have that kind of walking pattern? I take a deep breath and whirl around to face the creature that has been stalking me. I gasp when I see what has been following me. It was not an animal, but it was a small boy instead. He had light blonde hair and his skin was so pale like he hasn't been in the sun in a very long time or even at all. He was covered in bruises and scars and his scratches look like they have been inflicted recently. Who is he? Where had he come from?
I looked at him for quite a while before finding my voice.
"What's your name little one?" I asked him, my voice slicing through the silent night air.
He looks at me fear showing clear as day on his face, but he just gave me a little shrug. I take it he has as much information on himself as I do on myself. I give him a small smile and offer my hand. Whoever he is he can't be out here alone. He was young, maybe 4 or 5?
"It's ok. I won't hurt you I promise." I tell him hoping that I was right.
To be honest I don't know what I'm capable of. What if I hurt him? What if I hurt others? I push the thoughts away when I feel a tiny hand placed in mine.
