Chapter One

I sat in my royal bedroom, head in my hooves. I sobbed softly, tears streaking through my starry mane. "Nopony appreciates me. Even after the Nightmare Moon incident, everypony treats me the same."

Celestia quietly walked into the elegant room. "Luna, are you alright?"

I hastily wiped the tears off my face and whipped around to face my sister. "Of course, I am alright." I exclaimed sharply.

Celestia looked concerned. "Okay... I was worried about you, sister."

"Of course you were," I muttered under my breath.

Long after my sister exited, I emerged from my chamber into the royal hall. Celestia sat atop her dazzling throne with two unicorn guards on either side of her. I trotted up to my throne to the left of hers, my hooves clicking on the cold marble.

"Luna," Celestia said solemnly, "why were you crying?"

"Wha- How did you know?!" I exclaimed, with a look of shock plastered on my face.

Celestia remained calm. "It's still trapped in your mane, dear." The two royal guard ponies huffed.

I shot them a dirty look. "This is personal!" I roared, turning to face my sister.

"Luna, nothing is personal enough to not be shared with your loving sister. I can help you," soothed Celestia.

I could feel red hot anger boiling inside of me. "You don't know me! You CAN'T help me, you... you... YOU MULE! Mind your own business, you USELESS CREATURE!" I shrieked, as I rose from my throne. I stormed through the gates of the Royal Palace as I muttered under my breath all the terrible things I could do to Celestia.

"Guards, catch her!" I screamed.

As tears choked me and streaked my flowing rainbow mane, I watched as Luna unfurled her majestic wings and rose to fly. One of my guards pierced her wing with an arrow as she rose into the air. Luna turned to him and shouted, "I AM IMMORTAL, MULE!"

My sister faltered as her wing started to fail but ultimately took off. In an instant, her wing healed and she soared through the beautiful night sky.

As the dark alicorn streaked into the night, I climbed to my balcony. Choking back sobs, I watched as my sister flew towards the faint glow of Ponyville and silently wished that my faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, and her friends would be able to stop her before she could cause any destruction.
