It's been another normal summer at the Burrow, Harry and Hermione come to visit just a few weeks before school began once again. Ginny slides down the stairs, her eyes cloudy as she mulls over the next problem to solve. Running right into the back of her big brother, Ron, she would stare with a stunned feature.
"Oi! Watch it will ya?!" He exclaims, Ginny just lifts her hands in defeat before the battle even has a chance to begin. Scooting past him one would almost mistake them for twins nowadays, their height equal, matching strong facial features, and of course the unmatched fiery red hair of every Weasley. Ron follows his sister into the kitchen, "What, no bite back? What were you even looking at?" her quiet hesitance to battle as usual is an immediate red flag for him, he knows his sister all to well.
"I just wasn't paying attention, I'm sorry." She speaks ever quieter, eyes on the ground, and this only alarms Ron more-so.
"Hey squirt, I was only poking fun, what's wrong?" He offered his best 'I'm your big brother, and I'm here for you' smile, uncharacteristic for the normally brash man, it seemed to disarm his sister.
"If I tell you… you have to promise not to hate me…" She looks at the ground again, Ron's feet shuffling nervously,
"Well if it makes you feel any better I have a secret to tell you as well, but you also have to promise the hating stays away." He looks pointedly at his sister whom nods firmly, having never seen her brother so fidgety or quick to lose his nerve, she speaks first,
"I… I kissed Hermione…" She whispers into the otherwise silent kitchen, everything freezing the second it leaves her pink lips. Watching Ron's wand hand like a hawk, every well toned muscle in the Quidditch player's body tenses in anticipation for his hexes. However, his wand hand does not move, his lips do, pulling into the smallest of smiles, full blown laughter pushing past them soon after. "R-Ron…" Ginny speaks hesitantly, her brothers maniacal actions frightening her just a bit, "Ron… stop it…" She speaks with the terror on her voice, which causes the man to pause just a moment, almost going into another fit of laughter as he stares at her,
"Thank the green world Ginny… I kissed Harry!" He loses it once again to a fit of laughter, his eyes closing for a moment. When they open again Ginny is right next to him on the floor, laughing just as hard as he.
