When Rachel heard the knock on the door, she felt her heart leap. She stole one last peek in the mirror before bounding down the stairs.
"I'll get it, Daddy!" she yelled at her unsuspecting father. She took a deep breath and flung open the front door. When she saw Finn standing on the other side, she couldn't help but smile her signature huge Rachel Berry smile, but she noticed that he had a blank face. They looked at each other in silence for a moment, but then suddenly Finn's face broke into a crooked smile. Before either of them knew what was happening, she was in his arms.
"Finally," Finn thought to himself, smiling into her hair.
"Oh, Finn.." Rachel murmured from where her face was buried in his chest. He'd always thought they were the perfect height for hugging one another.

When Rachel looked up to Finn, he could see the tears glistening in her brown eyes.
"What's wrong, Rach?" he asked, worried that he'd messed things up already. She answered the question by standing on her tip-toes and kissing him gently on the lips.
"I'm just so glad you're back."
