Pearl continued to shoo the remnants of holo-Amethyst away as a periwinkle flush graced her cheeks. Amethyst brought her arms out of the water and folded them under her chin. "Well, well, well," Amethyst said, lowering her eyelids. "Looks like I came all the way over here for nothing. Your holo-Amethyst has everything covered." Pearl struggled to regain her composure and reclaim what was left of her dignity. "I don't know what you think you saw, but I-I'm sure it was just a...projection of your delusional subconscious." "You're right! It WAS a projection. It was your secret hologram-Amethyst f-toy! Ha! I knew you secretly liked me, but I didn't think it was THIS bad! This is rich," Amethyst said, kicking her legs out of the water and clutching her stomach while she rolled around in false amusement. Secretly flattered by Pearl's apparent lust, Amethyst tried her best to prevent any more cracks to form in her facade. "Oh Amethyst. Why do you always seem to appear at the most- inopportune times!" Amethyst recoiled slightly. Brow furrowed and teeth clenched, Pearl's frustrations clouded out the obvious offense that her words had caused. Amethyst turned away. Sudden realization crept across Pearl. "You know I didn't mean it like that! I...we fixed all of -this- at Kidnergarten." "That so? It was nice of you to try to calm me down. What you said what sweet. Really. But now that I think about it, it all just seemed like a half assed attempt at keeping me from being the monster you thought I would be." Deep down, Amethyst knew that this probably wasn't true- she just wanted to prod a good response from Pearl. Pearl buried her face in her hands. "Amethyst, I'm so sorry. I-I swear to you that I know you're better than what you came from- and there are no traces of monster in that heart of yours." Pearl's voice broke and squeaked as she started to break down, sniffing between intervals of breath. "I know...I know I'm hard on you, and our bickering seems endless. I would say that all of this attention I pay towards you is to toughen you up but, truthfully, I envy you. I envy the way you embrace your carefree personality, and the way you always seem confident in everything you do. I panic whenever my plans go astray, or if I'm ignored, or if I'm not sure how to handle a situation. Even when I do know what to do or say, everything comes out wrong. I just want to be sure of myself for once." Pearl dropped her arms to her lap. "Well maybe you could try to loosen up a bit by...uh...doing something reckless!" Pearl sniffed and added, "I wouldn't know where to start. You know I'm a stickler about caution and planning and-" Amethyst cut her off with a frustrated groan paired with rolled eyes. "Geez, P. Don't over think it, just do the first natural thing that pops up in that big ol' brain of yours." Amethyst stood up and started lightly bopping her hands on the sides of Pearl's head, with an objective of shaking her out of her funk. "Stop that!" Pearl said, with a tiny giggle. She grabbed Amethyst's wrists with her hands, and looked in to her eyes with admiration. Gaze locked, they stood there, frozen in that awkward position for a few seconds until, for once, Pearl knew exactly what to do. Pulling Amethyst closer by her arms, Pearl swiftly leaned in to meet her lips and paused. Looking in to Amethyst's eyes that shone with confusion and awe, Pearl whispered, "I want to make sure that this is what you want to. To be intimate with me, I mean." Amethyst paused, baffled over Pearl's willingness to finally make the first move. "'s long as you give me better treatment then your holo-Amethyst," she responded playfully. "Nothing," Pearl quipped while tracing her thumb across Amethyst's pillowy bottom lip, "could ever replace a gem as precious as you." Pearl started to lean in again until Amethyst burst into laughter. "What?" Pearl retracted her arms. "Ehh don't stress about it,"
Amethyst grabbed Pearl's willowy arms and pulled her close again, finding Pearl's cheesy word choice to be adorable. "You cornball." The shorter gem lightly kissed Pearl's pointed chin. Pearl laced her fingers through Amethyst's feathery lavender waves and roughly brought her lips to Amethyst's. Tilting her head upwards with the grip she had on the petite gem's hair, she turned her head and deftly pecked her soft lips. Kneeling in an attempt to better match Amethyst with her height, Pearl held her shoulders and trailed her kisses along her neck, on her gem, and down her arms. Amethyst found these tiny smooches to be adorable, but she was impatient. Grabbing her by her waist, Amethyst lifted Pearl on to the ornate couch a few feet behind them. Pearl's eyes widened in surprise. "Aw Pearl, don't look so scared. Stop me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me like something is holding you back. I saw you with holo-Amethyst, you were ready to get nasty." "I just didn't want to mess this up. I've done this hundreds of times before with my, er, substitute. I thought you would appreciate going slower." "Then I think..." Here Amethyst straddled Pearl's lap and cradled Pearl's head in her hands. "...we need to get to know each other better."
NEXT CHAPTER WILL HAVE SOME PEARLMETHYST FUN TIMES IF YA KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING AT SORRY FOR DRAGGING THIS ON but I like to savor these things, you know?
