Jack was putting his books and bag in the locker. Arcee had told him that he wouldn't need them today since it was the first day back from the summer break.
Arcee was waiting patiently next to him. Then another pair of students, a guy and a girl, walked up to the locker next to Jack's.
The guy had dark green hair with blue eyes and tanned skin. He wore green camo pants and shirt.
The girl was Japanese. She had dark hair tied in two ponytails with pink streaks similar to Arcee's. She wore a dark blue shirt with blue jean shorts with knee high boots. Her brown eyes sparkling with mischief.
Arcee waved at the guy. "Hey Bulk. This your charge?"
"Yeah. Meet Miko Nakadai." He replied. "Miko. Meet Ariana Cecil, but call her Arcee."
"Jack. This is Byron Hedison. Autobot faction name is Bulkhead." Arcee spoke.
"Hey." Byron, or rather Bulkhead said.
"What's up?" The girl, Miko spoke.
"Just got into my locker." Jack replied.
Miko nodded. "Cool."
"Say. What did you get accepted into the academy for?" Jack asked.
"Music. No one can rock out like me!" Miko replied happily. "What about you?"
"Linguistics." Jack answered.
"Nice. " she said.
"Oh! Hey Bee!" Bulkhead exclaimed.
The two freshman turned to see two more boys walking towards them.
One was a blond kid with streaks of black. He had bright blue eyes and wore a black striped yellow shirt with blue jeans. He also had a silver circlet around his neck. He was shorter than Bulkhead but taller than Arcee.
A much younger boy walked beside him. He didn't even look fourteen. He had short brown hair sticking straight up, red glasses over his brown eyes, and wore an orange vest with blue jeans and sneakers.
"This is Brian Bells. His Autobot faction name is Bumblebee." Bulkhead spoke.
Brian, or Bumblebee, waved at the taller boy. What sounded like buzzes and beeps came from the teen.
"Oh. This is my freshman Miko Nakadai, and that's Arcee's Jack Darby." Bulkhead replied.
"Huh? He spoke?" Jack asked.
"Yeah. He speaks through that speech necklace. It allows him to speak in a sort of code that we Autobots understand." Arcee explained. "He said hi, and that his freshman is named Rafael Esquivel, or Raf."
The younger boy waved at the others.
"Um, no offence, but...you're like, two years old!" Miko exclaimed.
"Twelve...and a quarter!" Raf replied defiantly.
"Okay. So what's a twelve and a quarter year old doing in Cybertron Academy?" Jack asked.
"I'm here for their computer science program. Plus, I already skipped several grades. I was eligible for application and I got accepted. Bee here is just taking me to my locker, which is here next to yours apparently." Raf explained.
"Okay then." Jack nodded.
"Hey...what happened to your voice?" Miko asked Bumblebee.
Bee looked down.
"His vocal cords were seriously damaged in a fight with the Cons." Bulk answered.
"What?" Jack asked.
Arcee nodded. "The Cons fragging leader did that to him because he wouldn't spill the info regarding the Autobots after school meeting places. We do all of our team planning and there! Competitions, homework, studying, not to mention all of our other secrets! Yeah, the Cons had him cornered but he didn't spill anything. The Con leader didn't take that too well and beat Bee to a pulp...no offence Bee. Sorry."
Bumblebee waved Arcee's comment off and shook his head. Another series of buzzes and beeps came from his neck.
"Yeah, Bee says it's his own fault for being astoundingly brave." Raf translated.
The other students looked at the young boy in surprise.
"You can understand him?" Bulkhead asked.
Raf nodded. "Yeah, it's not too hard really. It's sort of a really complex code. I'm a master at codes."
Jack and Miko smiled at the boy.
"Wait. You said that the Decepticons leader did this too him? As in, a student here at the academy?" Jack wondered.
Arcee scowled as she nodded.
"The fragger Mason Trone. His faction name is Megatron. He's the Decepticons almighty leader. The aft." Arcee replied.
"Well then, do the Autobots have a leader?" Miko wondered.
Bulkhead nodded. "Orion "Oppie" Pax. His faction name is Optimus Prime."
"Cool. Can we meet him?" Miko asked.
Arcee shook her head. "Not now, no. In fact, you won't see him very often at all. During most of the day he's up on the fourth floor."
"Why?" Raf asked.
"He's a part of the Prime Program." Bulkhead replied.
"That doesn't help in the slightest." Miko spoke.
"The Prime Program. It's Cybertron's special program where the students who get accepted learn through an entirely different curriculum. Most people believe that the academy itself is for the best of the best. Well, the Prime Program is for the best of the best of the best." Arcee explained. "Only those with the Matrix Pass can enter the fourth floor, where the Prime Program is situated. Apparently the way they teach is some uber secret stuff and they don't want anyone else budding in."
"Who else is in the Prime Program?" Jack asked.
"No one. In fact, no one has been in the Prime Program for years before Optimus came along. He's the only one in the program." Arcee explained.
"Well, good for him I guess." Jack said.
Just then, a loud bell rang from above them. All of the students around in the hall began rushing about.
"Well, let's get going." Arcee told Jack.
"Where are we going?" Jack asked.
"The gym. There's gonna be a beginning of the year assembly." Arcee answered.
Jack nodded and followed suit. Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Raf and Miko filed in behind.
They walked down into the massive gymnasium. It was filled with chairs and the chairs were filled with the many students of the school.
The three freshman walked in and were almost overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the student body.
Although, they did see that the students were very particular about where they sat and with whom.
Most of the kids with darker coloured clothes sat on the right side of the gym. While the rest of the students, the ones wearing brighter colours, sat on the left.
Jack, Raf, and Miko, followed their guides to the right side of the gym, that they could only assume was where the Autobots were seated.
They sat in the third row from the front. Sitting in the front was a tall boy with dark hair. He wore a red jacket, with a white shirt, and dark blue jeans. He sat in a relaxed fashion but had an air of discipline to it. Was he the Autobot leader Arcee had told them about?
He sat next to another kid wearing similar, however brighter colours. Also a girl, with brown hair and pink clothes. The guy sat up straight with impeccable posture. The girl sat close the boy in the middle.
Jack looked over to the opposite side of the gym, and looked at the front row of that side.
On the two sides of the front row sat another three kids, all guys. One was lean and slim. He had brown hair with a single red streak going up in the middle. On the other side sat another guy with black hair. He wore dark wrap-around sunglasses with a matching scarf around his mouth so no one could quite see his face. He wore a black leather jacket and...wait, was that a bird on his shoulder? Then there sat another tall kid in the middle with silver hair(what?). He wore a dark grey hoodie with black pants and dark combat boots.
He glared around the gymnasium with his piercing red eyes. It was like he was looking for a fight. The his eyes fell on Jack who was still staring at him, then the boy smirked and winked at him before turning back to the front.
For some reason Jack felt a shiver go through his spine.
"Turn around Jack." Arcee warned. "You just met Megatron. You don't want him to take too much notice of you."
"What? What did I do?" Jack asked.
"You're a freshman. You're still a Neutral. You're the two people the Cons love to torment in one body." Arcee explained.
"All I did was look at the guy." Jack replied.
"Yeah. And he looked back." Arcee concluded before turning back to the front.
Jack sighed before glancing back at the opposite front. Megatron was still looking his way. Then his cocky smile disappeared in favour of a scowl when he noticed that the tall kid sitting in the front of the Autobots side was glaring at him.
They glared at each other for another two seconds before turning back towards the front.
Jack couldn't help but wonder what he had gotten himself into, joining this school.
Woah. I did not expect this to have this much positive feedback. None of my stories have ever had that many reviews for a single chapter.
Thanks so much! Please, keep on commenting and reviewing!
