Chapter Two
Flipping the wooden scythes around in her palms, Rebekah waited in the center of the matt as Rhage, Tohrment, Mehrcy and Nightmahre took their spots on the four ends. Standing on the sides to take the four in case they fell were Phury, Zsadist, Ahnger and Phride. In each of the males' hands were wooden weapons in the form of weapons they used on the field so she faced her opponents who wielded two wooden daggers and two wood swords.
The five took their stances.
Rhage was the first one to come at Rebekah who just rolled around his arm when he attacked. Spinning on her toes, the female jumped up using her rotation and landed a strong kick on the male's skull. Landing on her feet and going down to catch herself on her hands, she avoided a sword wielded by Mehrcy and pushed herself under Nighemahre's legs when he came at her from a different angle. Sliding up to her feet, Rebekah stopped Tohr's attack and knocked it out of his hands while she struck the male around his neck with the wooden edge of her scythe. This would've been considered a kill shot so the male stepped back as Z took his spot.
Rebekah did a back summersault where she jumped clean over Mehrcy who came at her with an attack from below and landed behind the male. Going down low and sweeping his feet from under him, the female spun on her balls of her feet in a crouched position and struck the male on the chest the same time she cartwheeled out of the way and slashed at Rhage at his back when he came for her. The male jerked forward from the attack that Rebekah used his back to kick herself up and flipped over Nightmahre. She then caught the male's sword with her scythe when he spun around and the two had a small battle circling their weapons around until Rebekah got in his guard and elbowed him in the gut. The male came down and she head-butted him in the chin before doing a jumping back-kick. As she did, she jumped in midair and brought down her scythe as she blocked the same time to counter Z's move.
Kicking Zsadist back and lurching forward, the female spun around on her toes as she came at the male attack after attack. He attempted to block all of her moves but missed when she doubled things on him and struck him both in the shoulder and the heart. Going back down in a crouch and rotating on her feet, Rebekah launched herself in the air and came down with a roundhouse kick on Rhage. The male stumbled back which gave the female enough time to come up at his chest all the way up to his neck with her scythe.
Phury was the first to jump in as Z and Rhage stepped back. The male came at her fast and strong but all Rebekah did was dodge all of his attacks. She then caught him by the arm and banged her head against him. As Phury attempted to stay up right, Rebekah quickly did a back kick and knocked the male in the air since she kicked him in the chin. Once he fell on the matt, she flipped the scythe around in her hand and brought it down on his chest to show the kill shot. The male got up to his feet and made his way back at Ahnger and Phride brought up their wooden twin blades. The brothers were different than the others considering the three of them used similar movements for their weapons. It would've been four but Victoria wasn't around to spar with.
The brothers flipped their swords around as they walked around Rebekah in a circle. Flipping her own scythes in her hands, Rebekah spread her legs and stood sideways. She then rotated on her back foot and came swinging at Phride. The male managed to block and that was when Ahnger came from behind. Rebekah spun around to avoid his attack and came at him only to have him turn in a circle as well and knock her attack down. Phride went low and danced around on his feet under his brother to jump up in front of Rebekah with his swords. As he came up, Ahnger used his brother's back to kick himself up in the air and twisted around to come at Rebekah from above.
Rebekah caught Phride by the wrist and leaned backwards, bringing the male above her and colliding with his brothers. She then released the wrist and flipped backwards as the two came crashing down and did a front flip to land on top of Ahnger. However, the male moved fast enough to get out of the way and Rebekah sent the killing blow on Phride instead. The two waited for Phride to get off the matt until it was just them left. Rebekah watched as Ahnger's pupils dilated before they turned completely back. The male then flipped one sword around to catch it by the hilt and brought the other one up front.
The two ran up at the other and spun at the same time, clashing their weapons together in perfect harmony. Ahnger was just as fast as Rebekah so the two danced around one another as they struck at every opening they saw. As for the Brothers sitting on the sidelines, they were watching every move made since they knew they couldn't move as fast as them. Going faster and faster, Rebekah and Ahnger continued their endless dance as they blocked move after move. But no matter how much the male thought he was good, Rebekah was better. Her strength showed when they collided again and she pushed herself away but continued her relentless spins. Switching up her feet, the female began to spin both ways that Ahnger's eyes darted around to keep up with her. Her movements and his confusion was all she needed to pretend to go left and then right but keeping to the right two more times and going left to end up close enough to Ahnger to land both of her scythes at his heart.
Rebekah won. Again.
She backed up so Ahnger could step away and flipped the scythes in her hands.
Something hard hit her in the head and she fell over.
Falling to the matt and clutching her head, the female glared at whoever threw what apparently was a lifting weight without the weights. The Brothers turned their heads towards the doors since they were swinging close because Gabrielle was standing in front of them.
"Now that's how you take out an opponent."
"What the fuck was that for!" yelled Rebekah.
"You like dancing. I like throwing projectiles. It was all I could do to get you to stop fighting." She looked over at the others. "V wants to see y'all guys anyways. He's got a lead on that phone Rebekah brought in and everyone's already at the Pit."
Rebekah picked up the weight and threw it back at Gabrielle who just leaned her head one way to avoid it. The human told the males to hurry up and left out the way she came in. now that their sparring was done for the day, everyone began putting up their weapons and snatching towels before heading to the Pit. Gabrielle hadn't been lying about how the others were already waiting for them because Rebekah and her group were the last to show. V turned around in his swirling chair to see the others were behind him and clicked something on the keyboard to magnify the picture on his screens.
"This is the location from where the call was made last night," the male began. He then clicked something and the picture changed. "Since the phone still has the chip in it, I was able to track the phone to this new location. From what I've been looking at, this is a lesser stronghold. There has to be at least fifty to eighty lessers in this building. I already pulled up the blueprints for this building and found out only the first four floors are accessible. The rest have rotted away so we won't have to bother about attacks from above."
When V finished talking, he looked over at Rebekah to speak. She cleared her through before talking. "From what I heard, there's something going one with the lessers. I think they might be moving drugs or weapons. Maybe both considering how the lessers I took down talked about this being a weekly thing."
"By any chance did you hear who the ringleader was?" Tohr asked.
"A lesser going by the name Mr. R. The one talking about him seemed pretty obedient so I'm guessing the bastard's got a lot of pull."
"He may be a Fore-lesser if you say that," said Phury.
Some nodded in agreement.
"Wrath wants us to handle this situation fast but carefully. I already sent the prints to everyone's phones so you can get familiar with the layout before we raid it. We'll be leaving in twenty."
Wiping her face clean of sweat and heading for the door, Rebekah knew she had to get to her room fast if she wanted wash off her hard work and be ready to leave when the Brothers left. They hadn't seen this big of a gathering since Sam died so it would help the vampires once they took out this stronghold. And Rebekah saw it as another chance to either kill to her heart's content or die. Unlike the other nights when she hoped for the ladder, she was actually looking forward to living through this night.
The female jogged down the tunnels and up the stairs leading to the mansion. She had a room in the mansion even though she had been offered one in the other mansion. Since Adam, her cousin's hellren, was considered a brother to the family, he had moved in since the cabin he lived in burned down along with Edynn. Rebekah kindly refused the offer and sold the apartment she and her cuz used to live in so she could move into the Brotherhood's mansion so it wouldn't take her long to get to her room.
Rebekah was close to jogging up the grand staircase leading to the second floor when she paused in the middle of the stairs. The doors leading to the dining room were open and Rebekah could see the females inside standing around the table. One of the females looked in Rebekah's direction and made her way out to the stairs. Rebekah jogged back down the stairs and put on a smile as she embraced her cousin.
Feeling Edynn squeeze the female tight, Rebekah patted her on the shoulder a playful sign of uncle and the two took a step back.
"I didn't know you were here."
"Yeah, well. The others didn't feel like staying on the estate so we decided to come over and keep the other females company until all of you returned." Edynn paused as if to consider something and looked at Rebekah like she was asking permission. She just rolled her eyes and waved her hand for her cousin to speak. "Lhyra, Annahbeth and Ehmma actually wanted to come over because they didn't want to be alone. They usually work these night while their hellrens are out. I guess they just don't want to be reminded of their old jobs."
Old jobs being that the females used to work for Sam.
Sensing the discomfort in the air, Rebekah decided to change the subject for her cousin. There were plenty of things to ask her when one looked at the female. One was how Edynn was doing since she was seven months pregnant.
"So tell me? How's Adam dealing with the idea of him being a daddy?"
Edynn actually sighed and smiled at her cousin. "He's pretty nervous. I actually caught him looking up things since all of his knowledge about raising a child is pretty outdated."
"Adam has full use of the internet?"
"Well, a good handle. His version of research has to do with books."
That sounded more like the male.
Rebekah looked at her cousin's rounded belly and gave her cousin the best of luck for the future. The two hugged once more before heading in different direction. Before making it all the way up to the top, Rebekah looked over her shoulder to see Adam approaching his shellan. The male no longer wore his shades except when he went out in public so his red eyes were visible. The reason why Adam's eyes were red was because he was half sympath. In fact, he was the first half sympath and half human in existence. It had been a surprise to the Brotherhood when they found out about his other half when Adam's father, Rheaper, had tried to make a move against Rehvenge. Then there was the tiny fact that Adam wasn't just half human and half sympath but something else. Jane and Manny had done many tests to find out what the tiny percentage was only to come up empty. Whatever the part of Adam was couldn't be identified so not many worried about percentage since it didn't seem to effect the male.
He took Edynn into his arm and kissed her as he laid a hand on her belly. They both smiled at one another and were talking but were too far for Rebekah to hear.
Looking away and continuing her path to her room, Rebekah figured she wasted her chances in taking a shower. She would clean up later. Besides, with the numbers she and the Brotherhood would be facing, she might as well shower when she got back. Right now she just couldn't wait to get out on the field and kill as many lessers as possible.
