Act 3
Scene: A Forest (could be Mirkwood, Lothlorien, Fangorn or somewhere else entirely –look! The play calls for a forest so we have a forest OK?) [Oh and its night time.
Enter stage left: Legolas, singing: He is carrying Gandalf's staff which unbeknownst to him is in need of serious re-tuning (this is going to cause all kind of random happenings)
" I feel pretty
Oh so pretty
It's a pity that I'm not too bright
Still I pity any elf who isn't me tonight
Tra la la!"
Enter stage right: Random elf
Leg: "Greetings fair elf, though not as fair as moi, obviously! A star shines on the hour of our meeting!"
Elf "Does it? I thought it was a bit overcast myself"
Leg: "Allow me to introduce myself, I am Legolas, Son of Thranduil and Prince of the Mirkwood realm. My name means Green leaf, I was named for the fair trees which we elves love.!
Elf: " My name's Coriander , son of someone my mum met on a night out after a curry and several drinks. Funnily enough I suppose my name means green leaves too but I was named that cos my Mum kept telling my granddad her morning sickness was caused by an allergic reaction to coriander."
Cor: Here is that Gandalf's staff? you are going to be in so much trouble if he finds out you took it!"
Leg: My dad asked me to get it seems he has some plan to get one over on Galadriel, we're not speaking to her at present cos she wants to keep my friend Gimli as a pet and I want him to show me these glittery caves he keeps going on about."
Cor:" That's Glittering Caves I think you'll find." And I hope your Dad isn't in the vicinity cos Galadriel's headed this way, I've been sent ahead to find a nice picnic spot."
Leg: "Better make myself scarce then, but Daddy's on his way too, and much as I'd like to stay and watch the fireworks I've got to find a girdle for Elrond, the one he's wearing now is killing him!".
