Chapter 2 | After School Frustrations

After the bell signaled for dismissal, Yume made her way to detention with Haruhi.

"Can you believe this, Haruhi-chan?" Yume asked, clearly annoyed. "I have to clean up my own crime scene."

"Well you shouldn't have talked bad about Sakura-chan like that... I mean, I know you don't like her and all, but it would have been better if you kept cool like you usually do. What made you lose your temper so easily, Yume-chan?" Haruhi asked.

"It was that damn Yamanaka girl..." Yume seethed. "If it wasn't for her, none of this would have happened. If I'm going to destroy pinky I'll have to take out blondie first..."

"You're going to destroy Sakura-chan?" Haruhi gasped. "Why?!"

"She took everything from me," Yume retorted. "You of all people should know that, Haruhi-chan!"

"I-I understand..." Haruhi gulped, not wanting to anger her best friend further.

"The classroom's down there, I'll see you later." Yume said coolly.

"Bye, Yume-chan... Take care of yourself, okay?" Haruhi said gingerly before quietly leaving for their dorm.

Yume entered the room first and gazed at the hole in slight disbelief. Sakura Haruno, the wimpy pink haired girl who was always smiling and so carefree, was capable of that? Not even Yume herself was capable of such a superhuman feat.

"I know it's not that big," Sakura said, walking in and noticing Yume gaping at the destruction. "I didn't want to take down the whole wall, you know."

Yume remained silent, but stared at the elite ninja before her. Sakura smiled warmly, extended her hand, and said: "I'm sorry for what happened. I really shouldn't have overreacted like that."

Yume turned away, much to Sakura's dismay. She sighed, and waited for Sasuke to arrive. An uncomfortable silence settled between the two before Yume decided to talk aloud.

"It's not going to last long," Yume said bluntly.

"Huh?" Sakura asked, confused on the sudden statement.

"Your relationship with Sasuke," Yume said, turning to face Sakura. "It won't last,"

"And why is that?" Sakura asked, getting annoyed.

"You're a bad match for him." Yume answered, avoiding the pink haired girl's piercing gaze.

"And you'd be better for him than me?" Sakura inquired, catching Yume off guard.

"N-no… it's not about me, so get that jealous trope out of your large head," Yume countered, "I reached my conclusion through simple sociological equating,"

"And what equation would that be?" Sakura challenged.

"Honestly, if you really deserve to be number one, then why can you not see it?" Yume retaliated.

"Enlighten me then, number two!" Sakura dared.

"Sasuke Uchiha is renowned for his collected temperament. You, on the other hand, have an infamous record for being loud and annoy-"

Sakura quickly clenched Yume's collar of her uniform and lifted the ebony haired girl off the ground, despite her smaller stature.

"I don't annoy Sasuke-kun," Sakura fumed.

"Oh really? Then tell me this. Does he always give you long replies to your boring stories, or does he just answer with 'hn'?" Yume asked, piercing the Haruno with an equally harsh stare.

Sakura remained silent as her mind recollected the numerous times Sasuke had replied to her conversations with his simple grunt. Realizing she had struck a nerve, Yume continued:

"And if you truly did not feel annoying to him, then why did you just physically threaten me for a second time?"

Sakura had no choice but to release Yume from her death grip. Her emerald eyes had dimmed as she allowed her thoughts to be consumed with the idea that she really is a bad match for her lover.

"Hah, I thought so," Yume said, with a slight chuckle, making the Haruno feel even more defeated.

As if on cue, Sasuke walked into the room and immediately sensed his girlfriend's melancholy. He walked up to her, examining her sullen face, and slowly wrapped his arms around her.

"Whatever she said to you, don't let it get to you, okay?" He whispered before kissing her on her forehead. He then turned back and glared at the obvious perpetrator. Sakura looked up at him, and forced a smile.

"Let's just fix this wall, okay?" Sakura suggested and walked over to the damage she had caused.

"Hn," Sasuke grunted, further startling Sakura. Noticing this, he reached for her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. He looked over at Yume, who couldn't conceal her satisfaction.

"Don't just stand there. You caused this," He glared.

"Whatever," Yume scoffed as she began to help with the reconstruction.

It's so clear now, Yume thought as she worked, I know exactly how I'm going to knock pinky down.

Later that night, Sakura was preparing for bed when a cloud of smoke materialized in her room.

"Is Ino here?" Sasuke whispered as the smoke quickly faded.

"No, she's been going to Shikamaru's ever since you taught her how to get here without the charka sensors going off." Sakura smiled, embracing her raven haired lover.

"Good," Sasuke said, "Now tell me what's been bothering you."

"Yume said you think I'm annoying..." Sakura admitted, knowing she couldn't hide it from him.

"And you believed her?" Sasuke asked, slightly surprised.

"Well...yes… she said she could tell through the way you always say 'hn' when I tell you something important..." Sakura explained uneasily.

With this, he lifted her from her feet and carried her to bed. Gently laying her down, he replied: "That doesn't mean I think you're annoying…" Climbing over her, he kissed her softly before explaining further: "…I just don't say much because of two reasons,"

"And those are...?" Sakura asked before her lover locked her within a passionate kiss.

The Uchiha smirked. "For one, I'm not much of a talker," He kissed his way to her neck and started lightly sucking on her skin. Sakura, brightly blushing, hesitated before asking:

"And two?"

"Two..." Sasuke whispered, sucking and biting her neck, "Is that I really love your voice,"

"Y-you do, Sasuke-kun…?" Sakura asked, trying to cover her small moans.

"Yes," he answered, his arm extending to the side of her as he clicked her lamp off,

"Now let me hear you say my name again".
