"Jake! Come on, man!" Finn shouted from the bottom of the ladder. A cluster of clangs travel through the air as Jake makes his way down the ladder with a comically huge backpack on his back with multiple pans, pots and other equipment sticking out. Marceline looked at the dog then at the huge backpack. "Do you really need all that junk?" The vampire asked. "Hey, you never know when you're gonna need something you haven't brought." Jake replied. The vampire rolled her eyes and responded, "Yeah, I'll never know when I need thousands of cooking utensils and buckets." Finn chuckled before turning to his brother. "Let's go." Finn said.
The trio walked out of the treehouse, out under the noon sky. Jake got under Finn and enlarged himself, making Finn ride on his back, backpack behind him, with Marceline flying beside them. Finn pulled out the map from his pocket and looked at it. "Where do we go?" Marceline asked. Finn concentrated on the map, turning it around and around to try and get a sense of where they were supposed to go. Marceline rolled her eyes at her friend's stupidity and took the map from him. Looking at the map, she scanned it before pointing north. "That's where we go. Come on, you dorks." Marceline said, handing the map back to Finn and flying north. Finn put the map back in his pocket, and he and Jake started following the vampire.
They travelled for a good hour or so before reaching the edge of the Desert of Doom. They stopped for a bit, scanning their surrounding for any bad guys lurking around. When the coast is clear, they continued. They continue travelling north under the heat of the scorching sun. Both Finn and Jake were sweating buckets and were on the verge of passing out from the heat before a scream was heard from a distance. The trio looked to the direction of the noise and travelled to it.
It took a good minute to get to the source of the noise. They walked up a dune and looked over the ground below. As they scanned it for anything, Jake saw a small goblin being threatened by a group of bandits, at least nine of them. "Guys, over there!" Jake said, pointing at the goblin's direction. "We have to help him!" Finn stated. Before he could get down to help the goblin, Marceline grabbed his shoulder, stopping him. "Dude, no. If we do, we'll get off the path." The vampire stated. Finn turned to the vampire and whined, "But he's in trouble! We have to help him or he'll get hurt!" Marceline stared at Finn and glanced at the goblin being threatened. Marceline sighed and groaned in frustrarion, "Fine. We'll go help him, fricking dork."
The trio travelled down the dune and rushed to help the goblin. When they approached the band of bandits, Finn pulled out his sword and Jake set down his backpack. Finn pointed his sword at one of the bandits and shouted, "Yo, bandits! Stop hurting this poor goblin or else!" The bandits and goblin turned to look at the trio. "Or what?" The leader of the bandits asked, his voice deep and husky. "Or else you're in for a good beatin'!" Finn replied, while Marceline rolled her eyes at him. The leader laughed, the others following suit. "You think a kid, a dog, and a chick can beat us?" The bandit said before laughing again. "Get 'em, boys."
The bandits pulled out daggers and other weapons and brandished them at the trio. They approached the group before one of the bandits jumped at Finn, aiming for his head. Finn dodged to the side, making the bandit fall on his face, and soon enough, every bandit charged at them. One bandit tried to shank Jake in the stomach, but got punched in the gut before he could and went flying. The bandit on the ground got up and attacked Finn, swinging his dagger at Finn. He went for his right shoulder, but was quickly parried by Finn's sword. The bandit tried to stab him on the head, but that was quickly parried too. Before the bandit could attack, Finn stabbed his stomach, causing him to drop his dagger and fall to the ground. Another bandit tried to get Finn by his left arm, but was quickly dispatched by a swipe to his right hip before the bandit could attack.
Three bandits circled around Marceline who had her axe bass in hand. A bandit charged at her, wielding a rusty sword and aim for her leg, but he instantly fell when the vampire chopped his left shoulder. The two bandits looked at the fallen bandit in horror, while the vampire chopped one of the horrified bandit's head clean off. The other bandit, with two daggers in hand, got out of his horrified trance and started attacking the vampire, swiping and slashing. Marceline dodged them easily, and slashing his left leg, causing him to fall down and scream in pain. But his scream was instantly stopped to a slash to the head, body going limp and falling to the ground.
Two bandits charged at Jake who stretched a huge hammer with his right hand. One bandit charged at the dog, going for his gut with his sword, but was met with the dog's hammer and was crushed like a pancake. The other bandit charged instantly, getting Jake by a slash to his hammer that's still crushing the other bandit. "Ow! Hey!" Jake yelled. And soon enough, the bandit was grabbed by a huge hand and was thrown into the horizon. "Ooh. Ow. Jeez." Jake said as he inspected the wound on his hand.
One of the last two bandits charged at Finn, swiping his sword at the human. Finn dodged and parried, and then caught the bandit's sword with his and disarmed him, then falling to the ground by a stab to the gut. While Finn was distracted by the bandit, the other bandit slashed his right leg. The human fell and screamed in pain. The bandit was standing over Finn, lifting his sword and ready to stab the human. But before he could, he dropped his sword next to the human and dropped dead, with Marceline's axe bass on his back. Finn tried to get up but fell due to his leg, but he was caught by his brother before he could hit the sand.
"Wow, dude. The guy got you good." Jake said when he inspected the wound on his leg. Marceline flew over and retrieved her axe bass. Finn looked at the vampire and her bloody axe bass and thanked her, "Thanks, Marcy." The vampire replied, "No prob." Finn tried to smile but flinched in pain from his wound. "Yeesh, that's definitely gonna slow us down." The vampire said, looking at the wound. Jake stretched a hand into his backpack nearby and got out a vial of cyclop's tears. He popped the vial open and poor some tears onto Finn's wound and the wound on his hand, both wounds healed instantly. Finn got up from his brother and stretched his leg, testing it. "No, it won't." Finn said to the vampire, chuckling a bit from saying it, which caused the vampire to roll her eyes. The trio looked at the cowering goblin and approached.
"Is it over?" The goblin said. "Yup, you're safe." Finn said. The goblin got up and dusted himself off. "Thank you so much! Those bandits could've killed me." The goblin said. "No prob, bob." Finn said. "Do you need a ride home or something?" Jake asked, causing the vampire to scowl at the dog from behind his back. "No, it's okay. My village is just near here." The goblin replied. Soon enough, the goblin was walking off to his village, waving goodbye to the trio as he did. The vampire lightly punched the two heroes in the arm and said, "Alright, you saved that goblin. Now, let's get back on the trail." The two nodded and followed the vampire to the trail, sun setting in the distance.
So, here's chapter 2. Remember, this is my first fanfic (and first action sequence written) so please guide me here. Tell what I should improve on, that kind of crap.
And as you can guess, it's Finnceline, but the fluffy stuff occurs later. I also have some events that could happen in the story, but I ain't gonna spoil 'em.
One last thing, tell me if should go with "bulk updating" (make a bunch of chapters at one and upload them all at once) or go with "single chapter updating" (make a chapter, upload that, and make another chapter).
Another one last thing, there's no set schedule of when I update this. But since it's summer vacation over here, hopefully I'll update often since I got nothing else to do.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Peace.
