Hey everyone, so a huge thank you to all of you so much for all of the support for this story, thank you to all those who have reviewed and favorited and who are following the story so many of your reviews have been so sweet and so encouraging. There is one thing however regarding reviews that I would like to address, and that is that I am not a law or criminal justice student. So I have no idea if someone who committed the kinds of crimes that Jack did would be able to be paroled after ten years or not. I chose ten years because it seemed like a plausible time for a prison release and to show a new part of the relationship, a part where they are parents and have been married for a while. In any case, the exact amount of time is not the real point, this is fanFICTION so I think that we can all suspend our disbelief over a technicality. Honestly, if your gonna leave a negative review on a technicality or my grammar please just don't leave any review at all. I welcome real criticism about a relevant point in a story, or even better a positive review, one last thing then I promise to get to the actual story and that is people leaving reviews about how the story is not realistic enough, this is problem that I have noticed not just with my own stories but with other ones that I have read. So let's just be honest. Most good fiction whether it's TV, books or movies isn't going to be one hundred percent realistic, that's because these things are supposed to be an escape, so please understand that almost no good fiction is actually realistic. there, thank you for letting me rant but like I promised I'm done now and here is the story please enjoy. Actually just one more thing I'm going to be switching POVs from chapter to chapter so that's it, now I'm done.

Christian POV

I lie awake in bed, my beautiful wife sleeps peacefully, her head on my chest. Even after ten years and two children, she is still just as sexy as the day I married her. Her beauty, however, is not what is keeping me from sleep, since Ana told me that Hyde is up for parole I've been playing his attack on Ana over and over again in my mind. Every time I close my eyes I see her laying on the concrete, cold and still. I finally end up asleep somehow.

I enter the penthouse and it seems so much colder than usual, I call out for Ana, I listen for her footsteps for her to call back, but she doesn't, I go to our bedroom and she's on the floor cold, I run her

"Ana!, baby please can you hear me please wake up, I need you we all need you please come back to me," I wail but she doesn't wake up or move. I watch her chest praying for it to rise but it doesn't and have this gut-wrenching feeling that it never will again. I bury my face in her hair and sob, then I hear a high-pitched terrified scream from down the hall, I shoot up and run to Teddy's and Phoebe's rooms, they're both just like their mother cold, still, gone their little bodies so still, then I hear the footsteps behind me and hear a gun cock. I stand up and turn around, it's Hyde, he's covered in blood, in my family's blood. He smiles wickedly

"Now you know how it feels baby bird," he says and pulls the trigger

I shoot up in bed, in a cold sweat breathing heavily, I look over, and I'm beyond relieved to see my wife sleeping soundly beside me. She starts to stir, she seems to always know when something is wrong with me even in her sleep.

"Christian what's wrong, did you have a nightmare?" she asks worry coloring her face.

"I dreamed, I dreamed that Jack broke in and killed you, you and the kids, and I wasn't there to protect you" as I tell her she moves closer to me so I can hold her against me.

"Christian, it's alright it was only a dream, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere I promise, and the kids are safe too, would you feel better if we went and checked on them," she asks she always knows exactly what I need. We head down the hall, I breathe a silent sigh of relief when I see both of them sleeping peacefully.

"Until we know Hyde is staying in jail I don't want them or you away from security or me," I say, I hate not knowing what to do.

"I'll let the team know, and I'll do as much work as I can here, I don't have any meetings for the next few weeks, I tell Jerry that a family emergency has come up and I will have to do work from home for a couple weeks" she says, I know that she hates to not go work, the fact that she is willing to give that up just to make me feel better just goes to show how much she really does love me.

"Thank you for doing that," I say

The next morning we sit the kids down and tell them that there is going to be more security with them for a while

"This is only because I love you both so much, if anything were to ever happen to you it would make your mommy and me very sad," I tell them

"So does this means we can't go places that aren't with you?" Teddy asks

"Yea buddy it does, but it's not forever just until mommy and daddy can figure some things out, okay," I tell him

"Is someone trying to hurt us?" Phoebe asks, she may be only seven, but she's already an extremely bright and perceptive child.

"It's because someone might be princess, now I wanna make sure you know, don't leave school or the penthouse with security, don't talk to strangers, you guys know everyone that keeps us safe, if anyone you don't recognize tries to tell you that they are security do not go with them okay" I go over this with them once again, ever since they started school I have gone over this several times.

Once the kids leave for school Luke comes in and asks Ana when she plans to leave for work today,

"We'll leave in twenty but I'm only going for a short time to pick up some papers and Christian will be coming with me, if that's what you want of course," she says, knowing that it's exactly what I need.

"Yes, I would very much like to come, Luke did Taylor fill you in on the new situation with Jack Hyde," I ask

"Yes Mr. Grey, I called the courthouse and Hyde's parole hearing is next Monday at 3 pm," he tells us in his usual matter of fact tone

"May I say, sir, I think the fact that they are letting this lunatic out is complete bullshit, pardon my language" he says, honestly it's one of the most animated things he's ever said to me.

We leave for Ana's office and the whole time I keep one arm around her waist and my other hand holding hers tightly.

" It's okay Christian, stop think about your dream last night it meant nothing it was just a nightmare," she tells me

"The last time we had to deal with this fucker, you ended up in an over twenty-four hour coma, you had bruises everywhere on your body, and Mia got kidnapped".

"Well, I promise this time I will think more about my actions, if Hyde or anyone I don't know tries to reach out to me I will tell you and the security team immediately" she assures me. We pull up to SIP, Luke opens the door and Ana goes to step out of the car, I keep a hold on her wrist

"I'll be back in ten minutes, I promise," she says placing her other hand gently over mine.

"If you don't walk back out those doors in exactly ten minutes I will come upstairs and carry you out," I tell her, and I'm serious

After seven and a half minutes I can't stay in the car any longer, I go inside, when I get to her floor her assistant, Hannah is there

"Mr. Grey, Ana is in her office finishing a call she should be right out," she says.

A few seconds later, Ana comes out of her office holding a stack of papers,

"Hannah, I need all work calls forwarded to my cell and any work papers and or packages forwarded to my home for the next few weeks," she tells Hannah, apparently not noticing me. She turns around surprised a bit when she sees me

"I still have fifty-three more seconds to walk out the doors, your early," she tells me.

"I couldn't wait any longer," I tell her

"Come on you" she grabs my arms playfully and leads me to the elevator, when we get in we're alone.

"Your so tense, we're going to have to fix that when we get home now won't we," she says a sly smile crossing her face, and suddenly I'm no longer thinking about Jack Hyde
