A/N: Well here it is, my first story. I've been waiting till I knew I had enough time to be able frequently update and create story's, and now I can do that. So here it is Knowing the Unknown, I hope you enjoy the first chapter.

This is it, I am finally leaving Phoenix after living here for almost my whole life, and the only thing I can really think about, well two things actually. One how awkward it will be to be living with my dad again, and two the weird conversations that my mother, Renee has been having with me these past couple of days, about some weird superstitions she believes in, and how I need to be careful while I'm gone.

"Beau" my mother called, pulling me from my thoughts.

"yes" I answered

"Come help Phil get your bags out of the car" She told me. Phil, he is a nice guy for the most part, I have no real problems with him, and I'm just happy he's going to be here for my mom while I'm gone.

Getting all the bags out and taking them to be checked in to my flight was easy enough. Sure enough once I turned around after giving the last bag to the woman at the desk, mom was standing there having a break down, tears going everywhere. On the way to security, every now and again, I would take a quick glance at my mom and see if she is crying and of course she was, but something else wasn't right, she's muttering something, I can't really tell what she's saying, I think I heard her mutter the word vampire. A word she had been using for the past couple of days in her warnings, but I just need to forget about those conversations, the things she spoke of weren't real. Vampires, they belonged in movies, and not something to be concerned with in real life. Well I need to get going anyways, they just announced my flight is about to start boarding.

"Take care of my mom, please Phil" I had to ask him, he just nodded to me in response. I needed to ask him that, after taking care of my mom all these years, I needed the confidence to leave her, it'll be nice for her to a real man to take care of her. Now it's my mom's turn to say goodbye, I don't want to face her, I know she'll be crying and freaking out at this point, while I faced her she didn't say anything, just crying. "Don't worry mom I'll be fine, I will message you every day, and come to visit you soon." I needed to say something. I just hoped that me staying in contact with her would ease her nerves, then I heard a noise as if she was trying to say something. "That's not what I'm worried about" she said while she stared at me with her teary eyes. Great now she is starting make me feel nervous, and over something that should never be a concern. I couldn't stand there any longer, I'm just going to give her a big hug and leave for my flight. "I love you mom" I told her while I walked away towards security line.

Man, security took a damn long time to get through, but that didn't matter now, I'm finally in my seat, and I get some well needed rest before I land in Seattle.

About 5 minutes into the flight, my eyes started to feel heavy, so I decided to close them and let sleep take over. It was about half way through the flight that I woke because of some turbulence. Since the turbulence wouldn't stop I just kind of stared off into the distance and went into deep thought, and I just kept thinking of what my mom told me. That she was genuinely concerned about me going to forks without her there so she couldn't help me be safe from the supernatural.

She had spoken of vampires, and how forks was the perfect place for some to be hiding out, which I think is ridiculous, and that she is crazy. Though she even went on to tell me the specific details of what they looked like, she told me about their crimson eyes, their inhumane beauty, and the paleness of their skin. But even with the specific information she had given me, I still think she is slightly crazy, and it must be rubbing off on me because I can't seem to stop thinking about it.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the captain has informed us that we will be landing in few moments, please buckle your seat belts, thank you" The flight attendant informed us. Finally, almost in Seattle.

I'm not really looking forward to car ride to Forks with it only being Charlie and me. I already knew that it would be an awkward ride with a few words spoken here and there. I got pulled from my thoughts again as the plane shook violently from it touching down on the runway.

A few moments later I was off the plane and getting my bags. I walked out into the arrivals lounge and of course I saw Charlie standing on the other side waiting for me. He was in his police uniform, as he was the police chief of Forks.

"Well it's sure nice to see you again kid" he said, and it was nice to him again, but of course he managed to make awkward as he tried to give me some weird side hug. "it's nice to see you as well dad" I said after he had finished his awkward hug.

As we walked out the door we bumped into a couple who thugs who didn't seem happy. "sorry" I said trying to apologize. They didn't seem to like my apology, but they soon calmed down after my dad cleared his throat prompting them to look at him and his police uniform, so they gave me one more angry look and walked off.

As we got in the car I started to think about school, and how I was going to get around while I was here, so I decided to ask him. "Hey dad, I was wondering about something, well two things actually" He glanced towards me as to tell me that he was listening, "first I just want to know, when do I start school? And second how will be getting around while I'm here?" He smiled and answered, "Well you actually start school tomorrow, and I thought I would buy a new truck or new to you at least as a welcome home gift. I got it from Bonnie Black, real cheap as well." I didn't want to push about how cheap it was.

After talking about the truck, we were basically done talking for the ride home apart from a few comments here and there. While I had time to think, my mind wandered back to the discussions that my mom has given me about supernatural beings and how dangerous they are. Even though I knew none of it was real, it just keeps nagging in the back of my mind. The only thing that really seemed to make me feel unnerved, was the fact that she said that Forks would be great place for their kind to be.

"Beau, Beau, Beau!" finally I snapped out of my trance. "We're home, I'll help you get the stuff out of the car" he told me.

It was the same two-bedroom house that he had bought with my mother in their early days of marriage. And that's when I saw my new truck or new to me, it was a faded red Chevy probably from the sixties maybe late fifties. To my surprise I loved it, I had no idea if it would run or not, but I could definitely see myself driving it. It was a beast of truck, solid iron, would have no trouble in an accident. "Thanks dad, I really do love it" he smiled at me, "I was hoping you would."

It took a couple of trips to get my stuff upstairs to my room. I had the bedroom that faced the front yard, it was the same bedroom I have owned since I was born. Charlie had added a desk and a second-hand computer and a phone line used for the modem. I'm glad I have this computer, I can keep in touch with my mother, so that eased some of my nerves being here, as I looked around the room I noticed that the rocking chair from my younger days was still there. Charlie and I had to share the single bathroom, but this won't be so bad as I had to share one with my mom, who had makeup and stuff all around.

I'm glad Charlie had left me alone to unpack and get settled, I didn't have to put on a façade to look happy and comfortable, I can sit here and stare out the window looking at the sheets of rain falling from the heavens, great a lot of rain something to look forward to.

Now I head real time to think about school that I start tomorrow, to be honest I'm not really looking forward to being the new student, everyone here had pretty much known each other from babies since it was such a small town. I wasn't a popular kid back at my old school, I never really fit in, maybe if was a big football star or something I wouldn't have to worry about tomorrow, but let's be honest I'm not that kind of guy. I'm to guy who gets shoved around until I hit my growth spurt a few years ago. I'm that guy who's too and too quiet, I should like video games and sports cars, but the truth is that I don't like anything that someone my age should.

My eyes started to feel heavy, so I decided to get ready for bed. Once my head hit the pillow, the nerves started to kick in about the first day of school, but I needed to push that out of my mind and get some sleep.

I didn't get that much sleep last night, even once I got my mind clear, the loud noise of rain constantly hitting my window kept me awake half pf the night. After stretching, I decided to look outside the window to look at the weather and to no surprise it was just thick fog. That was enough of looking out the window as there is nothing to look at except a white wall, so I guess it's time to go down stairs and have breakfast.

Breakfast was basically silent, just a few words exchanged. As Charlie walked out of the door for work he wished me good luck on my first day of school, and I smiled and thanked him. After he had left I felt uncomfortable sitting in the house alone, but I didn't want to be too early to school, but after seeing all the pictures he had of my mom in the house, I grabbed my back and rain coat, as I walked out the door my face was blasted with the icy rain, what a great start to the day.

It took me a little bit to find the school, but soon enough there it was. I drove into the parking lot, and while trying to find where to park I saw the front office sign, it was on the first building of the school.

Inside of the office it was warm, and well lit. Standing there a while looking at the office was weird, so I made a move towards the front desk. "Can I help you" the man at the desk asked while smiling. "Yes, I'm Beau Swan" answering his question. After a moment the recognition blew In his eyes, he must of realized that I was the police chief's son, and I knew at that moment that I was a talking point in the town right now. "Of course, we have been waiting for you" He told me as he went through a stack of papers, probably looking for my schedule. "Ahh, here it is. Here is your schedule Beafort, and here is a map of the school" he said as he handed me a stack of papers. "It's Beau, please" I corrected him. He just nodded.

I decided to go back to my truck, noticing other students arriving I knew it was nearly time to start, so I moved my truck to where students park, and went over the school map again to make sure I knew where I was going for my first class. I took a deep breath and stepped out of the truck. I quickly made my way to building three, where my first class was located. I got to the class room and introduced myself to the teacher her name was Ms. Mason.

The class went by uneventful, thankfully. As I headed for my next class a girl came up to me. "You're Beafort right." She asked, "Beau" I corrected. She wanted to know where my next class was, and she helped me get there, she told me her name which is Erica I believe. The rest of the morning passed the same way, the only thing different was, that my trig teacher made me stand up in front if the class and introduce myself, which I wasn't a big fan of doing.

After multiple classes I was recognizing a few of the students like this one guy who sat next to me in Spanish and Trig, and he also walked with me to the cafeteria for lunch. He told me to sit with him at lunch, so I did. We sat with a table full of his friends and he introduced me to each of them.

The girl I had met earlier in the day Erica waved at me from across the room and I smiled and waved back. When my eyes wondered across the cafeteria, is when I saw a table of five individuals. Everything in my body went numb. What I was seeing couldn't be real.

A/N: I know this first chapter isn't too much different from the original, but trust me it will get different. This chapter is a little short, but they will get longer as I get better at this. Now I know what I'm kind of doing I should be adding chapters every two days or so. If you have any suggestions about the story let me. I'll see you soon.
