"Where IS that kid?!" Elsa cursed as she stepped out of her car, now standing before a club at 9 in the night.
Even after Elsa strictly told her to be home early, Anna had completely forgotten about her sister's rules and had went to the club after finishing up her project at her cousin and project partner's, Rapunzel's, house. And Elsa was furious when she got to know that Anna was at the club, even though Anna told she was going only to Punzie's house.
If not for Rapunzel's mom calling and telling her, Elsa would've been completely oblivious to the fact that Anna decided to go out, in the night nonetheless. After agreeing to her aunt that she would bring both Anna and Rapunzel back home, Elsa had set out in her sky blue car, to teach her younger sister a lesson.
And here she was, standing before the club, glad that there weren't any guards around as she snuck in. At least she wasn't alone. She had convinced Kristoff, Anna's boyfriend, to join her in hunting for the strawberry-blonde. And the blonde was somewhere in the other part of the club, trying to search for Anna amid the dancing people.
"You're gonna pay for this so badly, sister" Elsa muttered under her breath, escaping from another one of those pervs who thought she would do good in bed for the night.
After searching for about 30 minutes, Elsa sat down near one of the bars, ordering just an orange juice as she tried to control her breathing after squeezing herself through the crowds the whole time. She closed her eyes and bowed her head as she face-palmed, praying to God that Anna was alright. She heard someone sit on the chair next to her, but she was too tired and worried to look up.
"Never thought I'd be seeing you in a club, Snowflake"
Elsa froze, her heart dropping in anxiety and fear as she turned and saw him sitting next to her, a glass of alcohol in his hand.
The man sitting next to her was Jack Frost, who was none other than Elsa's ex boyfriend, with whom she broke up about two month ago.
The two had been a happy couple ever since Junior year in highschool, when Jack had finally decided to ask her on a date. They started falling for each other the more they got to know about the other, and they finally kissed and became an official couple when they confessed to each other on their prom night. And from that day, they had been a loving and strong couple, never hesitating to stand by the other. And they stayed as a couple as they went to the same university.
But all that had ended when Elsa suddenly broke up with Jack, after their exams in their last year at university had ended.
And that had been two months ago.
Of course, Jack, being himself, hadn't agreed to it when she wouldn't give him a reason as to why she was suddenly breaking up with him. He had not left her alone for the whole month, until she finally snapped, telling him to just leave her alone. Getting the message that she really doesn't want to see him anymore, Jack had finally stopped following her. Both of them completely ignored the other's existence, though it was painfully obvious that both were incredibly depressed ever since the breakup, and it stayed that way for the rest of the month.
And now, Elsa felt her heart sink in fear at seeing him all of a sudden, and in guilt when she saw how he looked.
His pale skin had turned even paler, his face looking hollow and dark circles below his eyes. He had become a lot more thinner than he used to be, and the bright glint he used to have in his eyes didn't even leave a trace behind and had completely disappeared.
But the way he spoke and looked at her today was different. It was kinda...sloppy?
"Jack? W-what are you doing here?" Elsa asked, trying her best to keep her wavering voice as straight as possible.
"Just on a little vacation to spend some time on my new girlfriend" Jack grinned, hiccuping as his eyes drooped again.
"G-girlfriend?" Elsa asked, completely shocked.
"This one, right here" he grinned before he took another sip of whatever was there in that glass of his.
"You're drunk, aren't you?" She asked suspiciously and worriedly.
"Nope. I had a few glasses, that's all" he waved it off, finishing the drink and ordering another one. The bartender just looked at him as if he was crazy, glancing at Elsa before he looked back at Jack.
"Kid, you've literally had about three bottles of alcohol. Maybe you should stop now, for your own good..."
Jack eyes lit up with fury as he slammed his hands on the table before he stood up.
"You got a problem with me drinking?! Its your damned job to give me what I want, so just mind your own business" he yelled, turning around and stomping off to somewhere.
Elsa just watched with shock, guilt and worry mixed inside of her, before she turned to the bartender and apologized.
"Nah, happens all the time. Dont worry about it" the bartender had replied before he turned to another customer.
Though her mind yelled at her to not do so, Elsa followed behind him, trying to catch up. "Jack wait!" She yelled, squeezing through a group of college students. She looked around, cursing under her breath when she lost sight of him. But then she saw the neon lights pass by his bright silver hair, and she saw him running to a corner of the club.
"Jack! Are you alright?" She asked once she reached him, and saw him puking in a basin.
"Why do you care?" He hissed before he puked again.
"Oh Jack..." Elsa bit her lip, reaching out and placing her hand on his shoulder. He roughly shook her off, reminding Elsa of who really broke their relationship.
"Just leave me alone" He repeated her own line, turning around and glaring at her. Biting her lip in guilt, she silently walked away, squeezing through the crowd again before she finally reached the door and stepped out of the club to get some air.
Elsa felt her phone ring in her pocket, and pulled it out to see that she's got a message from Kristoff, telling that he found Anna but she was too wasted and he doubted whether Elsa could handle her so he was taking Anna back to his own home. He also said that he found Rapunzel as well but the blonde was sober enough to drive back home so she had already left. Trusting Kristoff to take care of her sister, Elsa agreed and walked to her car. Just as she got her keys out, a rough hand yanked it out of hers just as she felt two more hands grab her own before they turned her around and pinned her to her car, her hands grabbed tightly in their own.
Elsa's blood went cold when she saw two bulky men, one with a huge scar on his face, holding her car keys, while the other, with a thick beard, held her against the car, one hand holding her hands together whole the other was clamped against her mouth. And before she could do anything else, the bearded guy pressed his foot on both of hers, trapping her completely. Elsa tried screaming but her voice was muffled by the hand on her mouth.
"Wow, this woman seems good. Why dont we take her hostage and ask her relatives for money?" The bearded guy asked.
"Getting a woman and a car on the same night? Damn, Satan must love us a lot." The scarred guy grinned. "And yes, that is a good idea. She does look like she's got plenty of money on her. And maybe, we could take the money and sell her off to some pervert" he suggested.
"I'll go get the ropes. Hold her down" Mr Scar Person said before he walked away. The bearded guy turned his filthy gaze back on Elsa before he gave her a top-to-bottom look.
"You know, I think I'm gonna have a little fun myself. That pretty skin would look beautiful with a few knife scars" he licked his lips.
Elsa desperately tried to get out his grip and even screamed at the top of her lungs, but it was no use. The guy just stood there, laughing like a maniac before someone suddenly grabbed his shoulder and roughly turned him around. And before he could do anything, the person punched him in the face, which completely knocked Beardy out.
Elsa's eyes were filled with tears as she saw Jack standing before her, breathing heavily as he struggled to even stand. His head was a little bowed, due to which Elsa couldn't see his expression. But then she saw the other guy come back, and he had a furious expression on his face.
"Jack look ou-" before she could finish her sentence, Scar Person swung a big piece of wood at Jack's head but Jack dodged it, before he did a roundhouse kick and kicked Scar Person in his face, which sent him flying. Jack slowly and painfully walked towards him before he bent and picked something up.
Elsa felt sudden anxiety run through her when Jack walked towards her and stopped when he was merely a foot away from her. He slowly reached out and lifted her hand, before he placed something in it. Elsa realised that it was her car keys, and she froze again when Jack suddenly placed his forehead on her shoulder.
"Jack-"
"Why did you leave me?" He asked in a broken voice. Feeling her heart plummeting in guilt again, Elsa bit her lip, trying her best not to burst into tears.
"I'm sorry" she whimpered. Jack stayed silent for a while before he wrapped his arms around her waist, face still buried in her shoulder. And before she could stop herself, Elsa reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him back.
"You left me...you left me..." Jack muttered under his breath. "I hated you...for the past month...you broke my heart..."
"I'm sorry" Elsa whispered, hugging him even tighter.
"But..." Jack continued as if he didn't hear her. "Why do I keep coming back to you?" He whispered in a completely broken voice.
Elsa stopped moving completely, his words striking her heart like a knife stabbing her. Realising that he was affected by the breakup more than she thought he would be, Elsa just bit her lip and buried her face in shoulder, trying not to cry as she felt his arms tighten around her.
They stayed like that for a while, completely silent, before Elsa got worried of his behaviour.
"Jack...?" She whispered. Her eyes widened when his legs gave out and he started falling, but Elsa quickly wrapped an arm below his shoulder, slinging his own arm across her shoulders as she held him up. She dragged him over to the passenger seat and gently laid him there before she hurried over to the other side and got in the driver's seat.
I'm taking my ex boyfriend back home... God, I'm despicable...
...
His head banging with pain, Jack woke up, holding his throbbing head as he sat up. Once it reduced to some level, Jack opened his eyes, noticing that he was sitting on a white bed, that was definitely not his.
This one seems WAY too familiar...
With a painful and annoyed groan, he realised that he was in Elsa's room, sleeping in her bed while the said girl seemed to be missing. He looked out of the window and noticed that it was still night, before he saw the clock and got to know that it was 1 in the morning.
Feeling way too stuffy, Jack removed his shirt and threw it away. He closed his eyes, bowed his head and rubbed his face, wondering how on earth he ended up here out of all places, and whether she knows that he was here.
As an answer to his last question, Elsa entered the room with a glass of water and a few tablets in her other hand. She was surprised when she saw him sitting up on the bed, shirtless to top it off. Blushing at first, she looked down at the floor. And realising that he had given in to his habit of removing his shirt when sleeping, Jack blushed as well as he grabbed the blanket and yanked it up.
Stupid, stupid, stupi-
He groaned again, letting go of the blanket as he grabbed his head in pain. Elsa ran forward and gave him the water and the tablets. Eyeing them suspiciously, Jack took them after muttering a 'thank you'. Elsa worriedly sat down at the end of the bed, before she turned her head away.
The two just sat there awkwardly, and Elsa wrecked her brain to say something. But Jack beat her to it.
"How and why am I here?" He asked, staring down at his hands which were on his lap.
"You collapsed on me when we were standing near my car. So I brought you back home" Elsa replied, looking at anything but him.
"Near your car...?" He trailed off.
"Yeah... When you saved me from getting kidnapped. Thank you for that. I would've definitely die-"
"But why am I here?" He cut her off sharply. Elsa bit her lip, thinking that he probably didn't want to hear her ramble about things.
"I couldn't just leave you there" she replied softly.
"But why? We're not dating anymore. You dont have any reason to bring me back to your house. I may have acted recklessly by attacking those two men, but there was no need for you to bring me here. Even if you felt grateful or something, you could've just left me at the hospital or something and-"
"I said I couldn't just leave you there, okay?!" Elsa said, raising her voice as she turned and glared at him.
It's working... Jack thought to himself.
"And I'm asking you WHY?! Just answer!" Jack yelled.
"Because I couldn't leave you!"
"But why-!"
Its now or never...
"Because I still love you, okay?!" Elsa yelled, tears filled in her eyes.
Jack's eyes widened, his heart skipping a beat, and he stared at her as her own eyes widened when she realised what she had just blurted out as she turned away and stared at the floor.
"Tell it again" Jack whispered.
"What?" Elsa asked, confused, as she looked up and saw his intense gaze on her.
"Tell it again" he repeated. Elsa bit her lip, looking back at the floor.
"I love you" she whispered, almost to herself.
"Tell it again! Look me in my eyes and tell it again if you really mean it!" Jack demanded. Eyes filled with tears of anger, she took handfuls of the blanket before she looked up.
"I love you damnit-" Elsa's eyes widened and she tensed up when she was suddenly yanked forward by Jack, who wrapped his other hand around her waist and pulled her closer. And before she knew it, his soft lips smashed against her own.
Elsa stayed still for some time before she finally gave up fighting with herself, and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him even closer.
They kissed each other desperately and their hearts were full of passion, after two whole months of breaking it bit by bit. A few seconds later, they pulled back for air, but didn't let go of the other as they stared into each others' eyes. It took them only a few minutes to regain their breath before they pulled each other for another kiss.
"Why did you leave me, Elsa?" Jack asked, breathing heavily after they pulled back. Elsa looked down, her eyes filled with guilt and shame.
"Jack, I can't..."
"Please Elsa" he pleaded, his voice sounding like he was ready to cry. But she did.
Just hearing his vulnerable voice and realising that she's the reason behind it, Elsa hugged him around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder as she sat between his legs and cried her eyes out. Jack hugged her back, letting her take her time.
After some time, she stopped sobbing and was just sniffing as Jack stroked her hair, before Jack turned and looked at her.
"Do you wanna lie down and talk about it?" He asked softly. Elsa nodded and soon enough, the two were lying down on the bed, wrapped up in each others' arms.
"It was a few days before we broke up. I finished my exams and was waiting outside for you, when I got a message from an unknown number, telling me that they have Anna and they might harm her if I didn't go to their place within an hour. I knew it wasn't a prank because Rapunzel had come and told me she didn't see Anna from the morning. And I knew she had come to the University since I was the one who sent her with Kristoff. I even clarified with Kris, who told me that he had left her in front of the main hall as usual, before he had headed over to his own classes.
"So I went to the location they had sent me, which had been the Westerguard mansion, and saw Hans, Anna's ex boyfriend, holding a knife against her neck as she laid there, knocked out with blood oozing out of a wound on her head. I-I almost fainted when I saw her like that. It- it was so-" Elsa whimpered, tears threatening to spill out again. Jack rubbed his hand up and down her back comfortingly, his other hand still stroking her head.
"Shh, it's okay" Jack whispered softly.
"Hans- he, told me that if I want Anna back I should first break up with you, telling me that if we break up then you would be devastated and you would stop 'poking your nose into his business'. He threatened me, telling me that he wouldn't hesitate to do anything to Anna" she cried, hugging him tightly for comfort. Jack hugged her back, his heart breaking at how vulnerable Elsa was right now.
"I asked- I begged him to leave Anna out of this, but then he got impatient, told one of his men to hold me back while he walked over to Anna. Two more men came and lifted her, chaining her to the wall. And-" she stopped, struggling to breathe.
"Its okay Elsa. She's safe now. You're safe now" Jack whispered. Elsa stayed quiet for some time before she sucked in a breath.
"He started ripping her clothes. He- he grabbed her shirt and tore it till it was just below her breast before making a huge scar on her stomach using his knife. I cried and begged him to stop. He asked me whether I'm ready to break up. I stayed quiet and in that moment, he grabbed the rest of her shirt and I- I couldn't help... I told him I would break up with you" Elsa finished her story, continuing to cry.
Jack was filled with fury, before it was replaced by sadness as he realised what she had been going through.
"T-thankfully, Anna doesn't know anything about this. For her safety and for his own as well, I told Kristoff about everything that happened, and I trusted him to keep it a secret. He cried as well, and promised me to protect Anna no matter what. We managed to convince Anna that she had gotten drunk thanks to a few students pulling pranks here and there, and the scar was because of a brawl that took place between her and a senior student." Elsa continued.
"Why didn't you tell me about this, Elsa?" Jack asked as he continued to stroke her hair comfortingly.
"H-Hans had set up a few men to stalk me, and to report to him if I were to even see you. When I made it clear that I dont want to see you anymore, the stalkers were convinced that you would be too mad and you wouldn't come back again, so they left me alone. I tried to speak to you after that but then I realised that it would probably be better if I was away from you" Elsa explained.
"I- I'm sorry! I'm so, so sorry! I caused you so much trouble, I made you hate me and I broke your heart. I really regret doing all of that. Please forgive me" she pleaded, burying her face in his chest.
Heart clenching in pain at how she was degrading herself, Jack lifted her head up and kissed her. She kissed back, though tears continued to trail down her face. Jack pulled back, resting his forehead against hers.
"Its not your fault, Snowflake. It was either break up with me or lose your sister forever. Honestly, if I had been in your shoes, I would've done the same thing. Yes, I admit, you did break my heart, but you didn't have another choice. You were forced to do it. What I had to endure is nothing compared to what you were facing." Jack spoke softly.
"But that doesn't mean you weren't hurting" Elsa sniffed.
"Yes, it doesn't mean so. But it does mean that you had it much more worse, and you were completely wrecked. I just want to ask you something" he stated seriously.
"What is it?" Elsa whispered.
"Do you really love me?"
"Yes" she replied without hesitation. A warm smile took over Jack's lips before he softly rubbed his nose against her cheek.
"That's all I wanted to hear" he smiled.
"Can I ask you one thing now?" Elsa asked quietly.
"Go ahead" Jack encouraged her.
"Will you- be my boyfriend again?" She asked, like she was almost scared of asking him. His smile got wider as he placed a loving kiss on her forehead before he hugged her.
"That's goes without saying, Snowflake. I love you, and nothing's gonna change that" he whispered. Elsa, who had stayed completely still, suddenly wrapped her arms around him.
"Thank you, Jack" she whispered.
"Anything for my Snowflake" he whispered back, smiling as she leaned into his touch.
"Goodnight Jack" she said, one last smile.
"Sleep well, Snowflake," he smiled. But his face adopted a serious expression once she was sleeping peacefully in his arms. He quickly got his phone out, searching for a particular number.
I promise you Snowflake. Hans won't get away with doing this to you and Anna.
...
Elsa stirred awake, feeling the familiar warmth around her, which she had missed for the past two months.
"Morning Snowflake," Jack whispered, greeting her with a smile on his face. Elsa just smiled back, burying her face in his chest again.
"So it wasn't a dream after all," She let out a sigh of relief and smiling again when she felt his lips on her forehead.
"Of course it wasn't. Now come on." Jack said, sitting up and grinning when Elsa sleepily sat up as well, her eyes barely opened.
"Where?" She asked before she yawned again.
"Well, I just got back with my wonderful girlfriend and it wouldn't be fair to just sleep all day when I should be spending the day with her" Jack grinned as he stood up.
"Whatever" Elsa muttered before she rubbed her sleepy eyes. Jack smiled adoringly before he bent forward and hugged her close, startling her.
"I missed this," he whispered.
"Me too" Elsa muttered, wrapping her hands around his head. Jack smiled once again before he pulled back, enthusiastically placing his hands on his hips.
"Now, get up and freshen up. I'll cook breakfast" he grinned.
"Oh God, I'm gonna get poisoned. I wanted to live a longer life, probably adopt a dog or something and-"
"That's enough now. Get up already"
"Yes mom"
...
"Just what exactly is this?" Elsa giggled, looking at the mug filled with milk, Hersey's syrup and marshmallows.
"Well, you like Hot Chocolate so I tried making some..." Jack trailed off, scratching the back of his head. Elsa laughed before she placed a kiss on his cheek.
"Go to the living room, I'll whip up something"
"Okay, I'll leave it to the experts" Jack shrugged, entering the living room and switching on the television.
A few minutes later, Elsa smiled proudly as she brought a tray full of breakfast for the two of them.
"That smells delicious" Jack licked his lips.
"It tastes delicious as well" Elsa said with a proud and self-satisfied look on her face.
"The food isn't the only thing that's delicious" Jack wiggled his eyebrows. Elsa narrowed her eyes, smacking him on his head when she realised what he meant.
"Shut it, pervert" she muttered as she settled down next to him. Jack automatically wrapped his arm around her and Elsa leaned against him. She took a sip of her hot chocolate, paying attention to the news that was going on and her eyes widened when she read the headlines.
"What the-"
"Hans Westerguard, the thirteenth heir of the Westerguard family, was accused of abuse and blackmail. The detectives managed to find proof for all the disturbing things he has been doing and he was finally arrested today morning. His hearing is to take place on the 29th of May..."
"But- but how?! The only ones who know about Hans are Kristoff, me and you-" Elsa stopped, her suspicious gaze resting on her boyfriend, who was innocently whistling. "Jack..?"
"Yes Snowflake?" He asked in the most charming voice ever.
"You did this, didn't you?" She asked.
"I might or might not have explained everything to my grandfather, who issued a complaint against him at once. And I definitely didn't know about the fact that the police raided him last night and found plenty of other stuff going on as well.."
Elsa just stared at him before tears filled her eyes. But these were tears of joy, of love and of gratefulness.
"Thank you" she whispered, hugging him tight around his neck.
"As I said, anything for my Snowflake"
"I dont know what I should be thankful for; Hans getting punished or getting myself the best boyfriend a girl could ever ask for" Elsa laughed, wiping her tears.
"Well, he put you through pain, so I put him through Hell. The bastard deserved it after all." Jack shrugged, shooting her another grin.
"I just pray to God that no one messes with me again. Or else they will have to meet with your wrath" Elsa giggled.
"My whole family is with me, sweety. They might as well be dead meat if they mess with you" Jack deadpanned.
"I'm never gonna leave you again" Elsa smiled, leaning on him. Jack, whose arm was still wrapped around her, just leaned his head against hers.
"Damn right"
