That night, Fred found himself unable to sleep, thinking about Sienna and worrying that the same thing was happening that had the night before. After at least an hour of tossing and turning, he gave up and threw off the covers.

George groaned from his bed, blinking up at his brother while he was getting his wand from under his pillow. "Freddie? You're not pranking without me, are you?"

Fred grinned but shook his head. "No, I...left something in the common room. I'll be right back."

He seemed too tired to care, so George rolled back over and went back to sleep. Trying to be as quiet as possible, he dug the Marauder's Map out and left the dormitory. They'd planned to give it to Harry at Christmas, but there was no reason he couldn't use it in his favor until that point.

Once he was sure he was safe, he tapped his wand to the page. "I solemnly swear I am up to no good."

As the map filled itself out, he grinned. He quickly turned to the page showing the Slytherin dungeons, and saw Sienna's name moving around while the other fifth year girl Slytherins she shared a dorm with stayed put.

He nodded once to himself. "Lumos," he murmured before moving to push open the Fat Lady's portrait, ignoring her annoyed mumblings as he started taking the stairs as quickly as he could, watching Sienna's name move slowly out into the corridor.

Once he reached the right hallway, he tapped the map again. "Mischief managed," He whispered before shoving the map into his back pocket and running just in time to see her turn the corner.

He stopped a few feet from her, watching as she slowly kept going forward. Her arms hung limp at her sides, her head lolling against her shoulder. He could see her lips moving just barely, but he couldn't see what she was saying. He took another few steps cautiously until he stood about a foot away from her. Her eyelids were closed, but he could see her eyes moving underneath them, which was a bit disturbing, if he was being honest.

He almost forgot the reason why he'd been so concerned, but was quickly reminded when she suddenly collapsed in the same way, screaming just as ear-piercingly loud. Fred jumped before getting to his knees and shaking her awake in the same way the twins had seen Snape do before.

She thrashed for about ten seconds before finally waking with another cry. She sat up immediately, eyes wide and panting, tears streaming down her face. She looked at Fred, and a frown line developed between her eyebrows.

"I..where...where's Professor Snape?"

"Snape?" Fred asked, furrowing his own brow. "Were you... looking for him?"

Sienna sniffed, wiping away her tear streaks and wrapping her arms around her knees. "N...No, it's just...he's usually the one who...wakes me up."

"I guess I beat him to it, then, didn't I?" Fred said with a grin of triumph. She raised one eyebrow.

"I? Your brother isn't with you?"

"No, just me. I'm Fred, by the way. I know people have trouble telling us apart."

"Fred..." She mused, and the hairs on his arms tingled when she said it.

"Why are you here, anyway? Were you pranking Snape again? He was muttering about the prank you two pulled last night up until he finally got all those sores off his hand."

Fred grinned hearing this. "Serves him right. Bloody git gave us Ds on that Potions essay. George and I know we deserved better than that."

She smiled, and Fred felt pleased to have amused her to some extent. He stood, offering his hand to help her up. She stared at it for a moment, contemplating whether or not to take it, but she did, dusting off her pajamas.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" She asked him. "I thought all you Gryffindors hated Slytherins."

Fred paused, then shrugged. "I can set rivalries behind when something more important comes up. You intrigue me, to say the least."

She frowned, pulling her robe around her and looking at the floor. Fred got the sense that he'd said something that bothered her, but he couldn't tell what it could be.

"Thank you for waking me up." She said after a moment of awkward silence. "That...that only happens once a night, so you should go back to bed. I'll be okay."

"You're sure?" He asked, surprising even himself at the amount of concern in his voice.

She nodded and turned to walk back down the corridor. This time, however, he saw her glance back at him over her shoulder as she turned the corner before she was out of his sight.
