"Where IS she?" Carly fretted, pacing back and forth in front of the tall apartment building.
"Hey! I'm here!" Sam ran up. "My mom wouldn't let me leave."
"Why?" Carly asked. "I thought she didn't care where you went."
"Yeah." Sam replied. "But, she wanted my opinion on her new bikinis."
"This is the first time in history that I've ever felt sorry for Sam." Freddy laughed.
A black limo pulled up to the curb, and the back door opened. Sam, Carly, and Freddy all hopped into the backseat.
In the limo, there were two rows of seats, one on either side of the vehicle. Sam, Freddy, and Carly piled into one side, as the doors closed and the limo pulled away from the curb. Across from them, was a handsome boy, who looked about 18. His black hair was gelled back, and he was wearing a tuxedo.
"Greetings!" He said with a warm smile. "My name is Jake. Jake Belanger."
"Hi Jake." Said Sam, entranced by the boy's deep blue eyes.
He laughed, and extended his hand to Freddy.
"I've heard about you. I haven't gotten time to watch very many of your web shows, but I'm sure we're gonna become great friends. I'm a tech geek too!" He laughed, and pulled his vibrating phone out of his pocket. "Sorry, I gotta answer this. Gimme 1 second."
"Nerds just got a whole lot better." Sam whispered to Carly.
"Hello? I've what? No. It can't be. That's just a rumor." Jake looked confused, exited, and disappointed all at once.
The faint buzz of the person on the other end of the conversation was inaudible, but the girls strained to hear.
"No." Jake said to the phone. "No, I have no idea. I haven't heard that. What if you get the facts, and call me back tonight?"
There was a hum on the other end of the line, and Jake hung up.
"Sorry about that. Just been some rumors floating around about me." He said apologetically.
"Ooh, what kind of rumors?" Sam asked curiously.
"Just about teams that might be interested in me. I'm a professional hockey player as well as many other jobs for Nickelodeon." He explained.
