Let's start with Eastern Washington
The eastern half of Washington Territory had just been taken by America. Officially a state now, half is controlled by England the other is American.
Currently America (Alfred F. Jones) was looking for the personification of his most recent state. Walking through fart field after farm field, it was starting to get dark, the newest personification couldn't survive the night with the threat of coyotes. Luckily Alfred was close to the half-state.
The child was rolling around in the tall wheat plants. Alfred realized the depression in the grass. Walking over briskly there was Eastern Washington, dressed in tI pical clothing for young personifications. Alfred picked up the small child, "Are you Washington?" "I think so..." Eastern Washington said. "Come with me," Alfred said, "I'll take you home."
When he got there it was time to give him a human name, Chase Jones.
