The next day Squall woke up, or rather, was woken up by a loud crack of thunder. It took him a second to pull himself together as he was still sleepy, but he soon realized that it wasn't a thunderstorm that was occuring. In reality, he was being bombarded with Thundaga spells.

Squall quickly jumped and dodged out of the thunder's way but the attacks wouldn't stop coming. He had to think fast - if he hid in the forest the lightning would start a fire and if he were to dive in the lake, he'd get electrocuted by the second. Instead he hid behind a large stone that was next to the lake. Soon after, the series of spells stopped and he looked around cautiously. He didn't expect, however, to see a flurry of bullets coming his way. He jumped out of the way as the stone was broken to bits and turned to where the bullets had come from.

"Wh-what?!"

What he saw wasn't an ordinary manikin of any of his Cosmos allies. Even though the figure ran into the forest quickly, he couldn't help but notice the rose-colored hair of the person. At that instance he realized that the only other person who used a gunblade other than him was the person he had just been thinking about.

"No doubt about it, it's her." He thought.

Squall quickly grabbed his gunblade and ran after her through the woods. He nearly lost track of the silhouette a few times and in the end he lost all tracks of the person he was chasing.

He decided to go back to the lake and gather what was left of his provisions, but when he did, he found more than just the potions he had left there.

It was her, the person he suspected had attacked him was right there - it was Lightning.

But she didn't seem okay. She was actually unconscious and was lying down near where Squall's camp was.

"Huh? It can't be - Lightning? Lightning!" Squall exclaimed.

He ran to her and tried to wake her up by splashing her with some water from the lake. After a short while she came to and looked around wearily, trying to assess her current situation. When she saw Squall, however, her eyes widened and she immediately sat upwards.

"No need to be so surprised, we're allies, you know." Squall said with a low tone.

"What happened? How did I get here?" She asked.

"I don't know how you got here, but I think you were attacking me just a minute ago."

"What? I didn't attack you, it must have been a manikin." Lightning replied. "I remember coming to the forest to search for you when the others told me you went off alone, and then I woke up here."

"What about the mission with Cosmos? You were supposed to be gone for a long while, weren't you?" Squall asked, completely ignoring what Lightning said about searching for him.

"Turns out it was a false alarm, Cosmos managed to fix things quickly in the other world and she sent me back ahead." Replied Lightning. "So, why are you here? I don't think you'll defeat your enemies if you stay here all the time."

"Don't act like you don't know, this is the place we come to...talk, remember?" Said Squall with a quiet tone, turning his head away from the soldier mid-sentence.

"So you wanted to talk to me? If I didn't know you I'd almost say you missed me." Said Lightning.

"Just forget it, we should get going anyways." Squall asserted, getting off the grass, ready to leave.

"Wait, I was just teasing. What do you want to talk about?"

"...nothing in particular." Replied Squall.

"Then let me ask you something. Have you ever fallen in love before?"
