The Well of Souls: A Shadow Talk…

Getting close to the Shane Hideout, Eli smiled and dismounted his mecha. The books he carried were held close to his chest, like if they were the most precious and delicate thing in the world (Actually all Slugterra but… anyways… -.-).

Burpy woke from his slumber and looked around. He chirped at Eli. "Hey, what's wrong bud?" Eli asked his Infurnus slug.

The slug pointed at the books; it looked like the poor little orange slug had fallen asleep when Trixie lost her spirit. "Oh, that… well um… how do I explain you…?" the Shane fell silent for a moment as he entered his house silently. "Oh! So, this is what happened Burpy…" then he started to explain what had had happened to Trixie and what Tobias had told him. While he did that, he walked to the living room and set the books aside, looking at them and passing a finger over them.

After the whole explanation, Burpy was horrified to be exact. The slug jumped down from his slinger's shoulder and hopped quickly over to a book; opened it and started to look through the pages.

Eli smiled and looked at the page where his slug was pointed. He frowned. "Hm… This sounds interesting…" the Shane murmured under his breath. He began to read the whole paragraph, breathing only when he finished a sentence, like if he were absorbing all its information to not forget it later.

"A test is what was done to Brook, the Slugterran God had chosen him, and him only from the 50 chosen Slugterrans–– these people who called themselves heroes…"

Eli was wondering what kind of tests… from all the books Tobias had given him, none told him about what they did to the chosen people…

Eli sighed in frustration. "These books tell me everything except what I need…" he mumbled. He buried his head in his hands. "C'mon Burpy, we'll leave to Shadow Clan Territory now…" the Shane said getting up and walking to the kitchen.

Burpy was still looking at a picture in the book, studying it closely. Joules came up to the Infurnus and looked at the picture as well.

"Doesn't that drawing remind you of something?" the Tazerling asked Burpy.

Joules was talking about the picture on the page Burpy was observing, it was like a kind of shadow… black. It had a slug on its shoulder, but, you couldn't see which breed it was.

"Yes, it does, but I cannot get my fire on it…" Burpy mumbled scratching his little head.

Eli was preparing some food for the trip, the long trip. "Come guys, you have to get ready too." He told his slugs; he had seen them playing around.

The slugs looked up at their slinger and nodded. They hopped to their little house and got out a few stuff, and they left them beside Eli's bandoleer.

Eli returned to the Living room a few minutes later, with an extra backpack with supplies. He put his slugs' stuff in the extra backpack and slung it over his shoulder after closing it. "Come on guys, we got to go…" he said.

The slugs hopped to the orange backpack on Eli's back and stayed in there. Burpy like always on Eli's shoulder.

"It might be getting late, I know… but… *sigh* I need to know more…" the Shane mounted his mecha once more, turning it on and attaching the supply backpack to the seat.

Opening the garage door, Eli drove as quickly as possible to the Dark Periphery, home land of the Shadow Clan.

The white wolf mecha's feet crunched the small rocks to pieces as it ran over them, running as fast as the wind.

Its rider, on its back, worried about Trixie… the redheaded, green eyed girl, Ms. Temper.

Eli, while riding, was reading a book, the book of the Well of Souls. His heart kept beating fast, he couldn't control himself, but he had too…

He barely noticed it, but when he couldn't read anymore by loss of light, he noticed that he was already in Shadow Clan territory.

Lucky stopped in his tracks and stood still as Eli dismounted. The Shane looked around, looking for any Shadowlings or any clan member.

Luckily, one of them felt his presence and shadowported to him; Eli put the Shadow Talker on his head.

"Eli Shane… what a surprise…" the young clan member said. "What brings you here?" he asked.

"A friend… she's in trouble and I need your help." Eli replied standing upright. "She… I need to speak to your leader…"

"In that case, follow me." Eli followed as he carried the book he was reading in his hands, holding it close to his chest.

"Well, well… look what we have here…. Eli Shane…" said the Shadow Clan leader seeing the dark haired boy.

"Yes, it's me. Now, I really need your help now." The boy said seriously. "What do you know of the Well of Souls…?"

I-I don't know what happened… I just remember me in the jungle with the gang… sick. I feel lightheaded and… floating…?

I look around myself and notice everything black…

"Where am I…?" I mumble…

Trixie was as white as snow, transparent like water, all the colours on her where really pale.

She stood up and started to look around, then, she saw a bright white light start to appear in front of her.

Confused, she walked closer to it, wondering what it was. But she got too close and was blinded. She closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she saw a figure in front of her, making her jump back in surprise.

"Beatriz Trixie Sting?" the figure said as he looked at the redheaded girl.

Trixie nodded slowly, wary of the figure of light.

"Follow me..." he said starting to float away.

Trixie followed it, extremely confused at where she was.

She was so concentrated on her thoughts that she bumped into the wall. "ow... that hurt..." she mumbled, rubbing her forehead.

"So, here's the she hero..." said a new voice from behind Trixie.

She turned around and looked up. "Wait... what?" she looked at the figure's clothing and the room she was in. "D-don't tell me I am in–"

"–The Slugterran Court of Spiritual Justice... yes." The new figure replied.

Trixie flinched away in surprise, a bit frightened knowing where she was. "D-Did I do something wrong? Am I dead or what?" she demanded.

Once Trixie and the new figure were in the middle of the court, all of the men gathered there began to chuckle.

Trixie was confused; why were they laughing at her?

"We see you're confused." A lady said, standing up to go to Trixie's side. "Fear not." She said. "Come, I'll explain you. They– those men– brought you here for a reason; you are working for the Shane..."

Trixie looked at the woman. "Yeah. I am working for Eli." She said. "So what? The Shanes' are the guardians of SlugTerra."

"Yes, they are, but almost all the Shane Generations worked alone. We see that Eli Shane is working with a cave troll, a molenoid, and, you." She stated.

"And...?"

"You need to be tested. Are you truthful to take the title of, 'Hero'?" she said.

Trixie flinched slightly and looked away. "Don't tell me..." she muttered under her breath.

"I am sorry to say this but... good luck." She said.

"Hey! What?" too late, the woman was long gone. "Arg... guess I am on my own now..." Trixie said, shoulders lowered desperate.

She looked around and noticed herself in a new place. "Oh, please..." she whined slightly as she walked to the middle of a white circle...
