First off thank you to everyone who visited chapter one, I got 39 visitors and I truly appreciate each one. I just want to say if the story seems to start off slow it is only because I want to show Jeanette in a regular class/school day environment and her interactions with others. I don't think this chapter is boring by any means though. Oh and for those looking forward to Dramine they interact a bit toward the end of the chapter.

ThEyOuNgAnGeL: Thank you so much for being the first to favorite and alert my story. It made me really happy to know someone was interested in sticking around for the next chapter! Your username is very suiting as you were the first sign I got for this story that someone was interested. (_ _)

Interactions and Confrontations

I was in a dark room only the glow of light at the bottom of the door seeping in was the only source of light. "My Lord," screeched a female's voice.

"The boy still lives! How can I have been thwarted by an 11 year old boy," rasped a man's voice.

His voice…

A loud clatter and crash is heard. "My Lord, it was not the boy alone who had defeated you! I swear it that Dumbledore has interfered. He sent the boy there knowing full well what happened. The tricky bastard," her voice screeched and more crashing along with curses and black magic sounded in the room not so far away from me.

"Double no triple the girl's training! I will not have him make a fool of me! We will surely get back at him and kill the boy beneath his nose," his voice rasped. I try to clasp my hands over my ears, but I am unable to move.

I look down and an inhuman hand is strangling me.

I jolt up out of bed.

It was just a dream.

No it was a reminder.

I had already gotten too complacent.

Being the first one awake is nice. I have enough time to get ready and have no one bother me. I hop into the shower and take good care with my hair in properly washing it. I tap my wand on my head and instantly my hair is smooth and dry. I brush my hair to the left side and put it up in a ponytail. I put on a necklace chain with green beads dangling close to each ring down the length of my hair. The other strand beside it covered with silver beads running parallel to the green.

I place three silver bangles on each arm and then change out of my pajamas and into my uniform. I roll up my over the knee black socks up my legs and then place my boots on. I look in the mirror that covers nearly half the wall. Nothing is out of place.

'Just when is someone going to make a big deal about my clothes not following the school's code,' I thought to myself.

Although, the only change in the school regulated outfit was a cuter skirt (the same length) in my house colors, my longer socks, and boots.

The great hall was empty when I arrived. It was surprising that none of the teachers were even in the hall for breakfast. Just how early did I wake up?

A few minutes of waiting at the table the food appeared and I placed my book down. At the site of scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, bacon, and cheese I couldn't force away the smile that appeared on my face. It did not matter since no one was around to see it anyhow.

As I withheld piling all of my favorites on my plate another student finally walked into the hall. It was a Ravenclaw boy who I could not see the face of as his book nearly touched it. He was tall enough to be a sixth or seventh year student.

He glanced up and looked my way. I gave him a small smile, unsure if he would accept it. Something flickered in his eyes and after a pause he gave a slight nod back and sat down. He piled food onto his plate without restraint and I had to bite down on my lip to keep from laughing.

I wanted to eat the bacon badly, but knew it wasn't worth the repercussions. I looked down a t my plate half of it covered with eggs and one fourth covered with potatoes. The last fourth of the plate I decided to place spinach on.

By now the hall had around seven people in it. A Slytherin had joined the table, but she was a seventh year and I knew her not.

"Well how long are you going to stare at your plate," a voice I had not expected to hear asked from behind me.

"Cedric, I was sure you wouldn't," I paused, "Why are you talking to me?"

"Why would I actually confront you after all that has happened in the span of one day," he guessed.

"Yes a great question indeed as I did see your anger yesterday after my sorting. Was it that I lied and pretended to be a first year or the Slytherin bit that drove you off the edge," I asked keeping the hurt out of my voice.

'Why am I already having expectations for someone I just met,' I berate myself in my head. This was too dangerous of a mistake for me to continue.

"To be honest, both," he offered.

"Well then I don't see the reason you have come to talk to me, unless you are here to make amends," I said picking up my fork and eating some of my scrambled eggs. This was it, he was going to walk away and I wouldn't have to deal with him again, except I was wrong.

"Well I came to apologize I was hoping we could still be friends," he offered a nervous smile.

"I don't know how safe that is," I mutter under my breath. He looked at me startled.

Oh dear I hope he didn't catch that.

"What did you say," he asked.

"I said if your fine with being friends then it's alright with me," I mumbled glancing away from him and down at my plate.

"What's a Hufflepuff doing here talking to you," Draco drawled as he looked at Cedric with a slight disdain.

"I was just leaving," Cedric smiled and walked away back to sit next to Jasmine who just entered the hall.

"Could you not fraternize with the other houses unless necessary," Draco raised an eyebrow at me.

"I know we have an image to uphold, but don't forget I'm Slytherin as well as you are," I answered taking a bite of potatoes after.

"Yeah well you sure don't act like it sometimes," he sighed.

"Not my fault," I laugh at my inside joke. An image of a familiar elderly lady appears in my head.

"What's so funny," Blaise asks as he sits down beside me, a little too close for my comfort.

"Nothing that I can understand," Draco answered back.

"It's an inside joke, no one is supposed to get it," I grin.

"Except for me I suppose," Theodore said as he sat down in front of me next to Draco.

"And why do you suppose that," I frown.

"Well you'd have to be bloody mad to think that Blaise and Draco could ever figure out such a thing," he smiled.

This made me break out into a wide grin, this time I didn't even try to squash it down.

"Oi, that's not funny," Blaise whined.

"Leave it be," Draco sighed, "It's not my fault they can't understand the strength of my intelligence and I for one would like to keep it that way."

"Always a good thing to do," Pansy added as she snatched the seat next to Draco. Crabbe and Goyle missed their chance and sat next to Blaise.

"I'm surprised no one has forced you to change your uniform," Daphne said as she sat down by Theodore.

"I suppose I will have to change it sometime today, I can't seem to not notice McGonagall staring at me with a dire passion in her eyes."

"You better hope we don't have Transfigurations first today," Delinda added as she walked by to join her friends at the middle of the table.

Finally breakfast was finished. Food vanished and students where having their schedules handed out to them by the head of their house.

As Snape handed us our schedules he gave us a stern lecture about behaving.

"Yes, yes we know why don't you go and tell that to the first years," Draco said with snide.

"You always boss the first years around, I'm sure they'll be fine," Snape said before walking toward the fifth year students.

"Well it seems you didn't jinx us," Theodore smiled as he looked at his schedule, "Transfigurations is our second class."

"Fantastic," Draco sighed.

"Let me guess, we share that class with the Ravenclaw's this year," Daphne sighed.

"How the goblins did you manage to guess that," Blaise said as he had been looking over Theodore's shoulder.

"How does one not guess when their looking at us like were prey," Pansy answered gesturing to fourth year Ravenclaws .

"Well we can't let them get away with thinking of us like that. Just imagine what our parents would do if we did," Theodore shuddered.

"Best we not get caught or in trouble as well. That would make it ten times worse," Blaise shuddered.

"Well I have a plan," Pansy smiled.

"Hopefully a good one," Blaise added.

"It is," she smirked rather like the devil would when sentencing a human to hell.

That was all it took for us to agree and plan out the finer details.

First class we had Herbology with the Hufflepuffs. Thankfully Cedric was older than me so I wouldn't be running into him in any of my classes. The first class of Herbology was awful; Professor Sprout tried to get us to stride through snake like plants unharmed.

"How do we get through them," she asked us.

Draco looked sick just from looking at the vile plants. Theodore took several steps back from the monsters leaving Blaise, Draco, and I in front of him as a barrier. No one raised their hand.

"Draco," Professor Sprout asked.

"Well, their weakness is their huge distaste for bugs…however, the amount of bugs you would need to induce fear in them would be quite a vast amount," Draco shuddered slightly.

One Hufflepuff girl burst out crying and ran out of the classroom. Apparently she had an acute fear of bugs. It wasn't like any of us Slytherin girls liked them either, no most of us were so disgusted by them that we feared them just as much. Heck the Slytherin boys dislike them as much as us. We couldn't flee even though many of us did want to. No we had a reputation to uphold even if we are the biggest wimps.

"Correct that is part of the solution to avoid getting injured by the Imaculas plants, but it is hardly the full solution. Five points to Slytherin. Now who can tell me the rest? Fifteen points for the person that can."

I was about to raise my hand, but Theodore began to speak.

"Usually people use the bugs to distract the Imaculas, but that won't last forever so they combine it with slug slime. Not only will the person use bugs and slugs to capture the plants attention, it is a necessary precaution that the person traveling through completely covers themselves in boggart slime," Theodore shuddered.

"Fifteen points to Slytheirn. Now off you guys go the supplies you will need are over in the cupboard."

Students sent bugs and slugs at the vile plants. All of us covered in slime that stunk 20 times worse than garlic could ever try. The Imaculas still attacked us. No one came out unscratched, though because we stuck together Slytherin didn't look as bad as the Hufflepuffs who were too freaked out to come up with a plan.

Still everyone screamed. The bites stung and little drops of our blood seemed to make the plants even more violent.

So reluctantly the Hufflepuffs and Slytherins had a silent agreement. None of them would mention this disaster to anyone else.

"Oh good Merlin that was awful, I doubt we will be able to get this stink off of us for weeks," Pansy groaned.

"I swear we should sue this school, who thought it was a good idea to teach that sort of lesson anyway," Draco whined as he tried to stop a bite from bleeding.

"You think they would have been nicer to us Slytherins, I mean the snake is our house mascot," Blaise glared behind him at the classroom we exited.

"We can't go looking like this to our next class. We have a reputation to uphold," Daphne frantically added.

All of us used magic to clean ourselves up and look more dignified. I used a quick spell on all of us to get rid of the awful odor.

Transfigurations wasn't that much better, apparently Professor McGonagall thought it wise we start off with the complicated transfiguring of turtle's into pillows. It sounded easy enough, but the shell refused to make the pillow soft. Only a Ravenclaw boy was able to perfectly do the spell and it was only just before class was finished.

"Miss Ellevan I will not tolerate your clothes again, follow the school rules," she stared at me sternly before letting the class go.

"Fine," I sigh, "but I really think you should reconsider the school uniform. They seem a bit outdated if you ask me."

"Miss Ellevan the uniform is in place for a reason, and it will not do for you to bring chaos to this school just because of your clothes."

That's hilarious coming from her a teacher of the school famous for separating its students into houses and then doing nothing to discourage hate between the houses.

"It's always lovely when teachers assume things about me on the first day professor, but I have better things to do than be judged for my style."

I was out the door before she could say anything else.

"What was that all about," Pansy asked as I caught up to the group.

"That was about her taking one look at me and judging me to be a troublesome student," I answer swiftly.

"Really we should be the sorts to judge them, how dare they treat us like they know anything about us," Draco snarled in the direction of the classroom.

"Well it just proves we will have to put them all in their places," Daphne said with an air of contempt.

"I know, but what can we do to get back at everyone? It's not like we can work on winning the house cup now that the Triwizard Tournament is going on this year," Blaise wondered.

"Well, Theo what do you think," Pansy asked turning to said boy who had been reading the whole time as we were walking to the Great Hall for lunch.

Theodore looked up from his book momentarily before shrugging and hiding his face behind the book once more.

"Thankfully we've got a break after lunch and we can come up with ideas then," Daphne smirked.

"Yes just don't forget that I do have to actually get started on my homework," Draco sighed.

"As if anyone could forget that you have to impress your dad," I moaned with a roll of my eyes.

"Hey this year is the year I'm going to take Granger down and get first place," Draco bragged.

"Don't worry mate I believe you can do it, if only we spent less time picking on the first years," Blaise gives a reassuring pat on Draco's shoulder.

"I tell you my father wants the impossible of me."

"I doubt it is impossible Draco, it's probably more a matter of do you want to have a life or have none," I butt in.

"I'll never win if father keeps placing so many tasks on me, but somehow I will find a way!"

"Alright, let's get eating we still need to discuss ideas for a plan to prove everyone wrong—not too wrong because we still want to scare the crap out of everyone if it need be necessary," Daphne argued while taking a seat at the table.

Draco was the first to follow her example and the rest of us shortly after.

It was an interesting process to watch Daphne try to help Blaise with his Transfiguration homework during our break. Apparently, Blaise's parents weren't too happy with his results in the class last year. Oddly enough it got us all working on the homework together and decent progress was being made rather quickly.

I found the different turns each of us took in our essays pretty interesting as McGonagall suggested we try to find the differences between two very similar spells by observing the spells and checking different things out.

"Merlin, I swear that this is the first time I have even seen Goyle and Crabbe get halfway through a homework assaingment," Pansy gasped.

"The rest of us have finished, but this is huge progress. Nice job Crabbe, Goyle." Draco beamed at the two.

Crabbe and Goyle look brain dead with all the concentration it took for them to get as far as they did.

"We don't have much time left before class, but do any of you have an idea," Daphne asked folding her arms under her chest.

"How about we ignore everyone that isn't Slytherin? We avoid picking fights, yet we subtly piss the other houses off while looking like it is unintentional," I asked.

"It's not bad, but I'm not sure if people will take us seriously," Daphne frowned.

"Not a bad start though," Theodore finally joined in.

"We'll discuss this more later. We have to leave now if we are going to make it five minutes early," Draco reminded.

"Good thinking," Pansy screeched in fear. Slytherins are not late they are always a little early to prove a point that they and in this case we are better than those beneath us.

Surprisingly most of the Slytherins had continued to take Divinations. Only Delina and Jared Stolen had opted out deciding they preferred to take an extra break.

"Okay class today we will first be discussing if any of you have ever had a suspicious dream that reoccurred over and over again this summer," Professor Trelawney said moving about the classroom without always seeming to process everything she stared at.

"Well I did have this reoccurring dream about talking seashells, but surely that means nothing. I mean I couldn't even understand what they were saying," Hannah Abbott offered.

"Oh dear, I fear—" Trelawney started and went on about how Hannah should avoid large bodies of water for this entire year.

"Professor what will happen if she gets near large bodies of water," Hannah's friend Ingrid Kare asked with worry.

"That's the question my dear, I do not know at all. All I know is that it will be dangerous for her to be near them."

I zone out and a quick succession of images plays out in my mind. A hand on my shoulder shakes me out of the zone.

Oh great it's the teacher.

"Miss Ellevan this is your first year here at Hogwarts and I'm glad to have a new student to appreciate Divinations with…"

"What would you know about me liking Divinations," I growled dangerously at the professor.

"You can't hide it from me Jeanette you have the gift," Trelawney smiled, "Go on and tell the class what you saw."

Great everyone's staring at me and he can't find out. I can't let them find out or he will find out. Panic rises in my chest, but my face is schooled to look pissed.

"Divinations only come true when people believe they are true, thus it is easy to come to the conclusion that if one does not believe the rubbish people spout out randomly that they won't come true."

"Then what is this child," Trelawney said grabbing my arm and pulling up my robes sleeve.

"A birthmark I was born with," I snapped shoving my sleeves back down.

"Professor I think you should take your hands off of her," Draco stood up out of his seat and stopped in front of me moving Trelawney away from me.

"Draco dear boy, go back to your seat I meant her no harm," Trelawney looked nervously around the classroom.

"Maybe you actually meant no harm, but you have her crying and shaking in fear that you were going to wipe your crazy germs on her. My father will hear about this, Hogwarts has gone to the dogs," Draco growled.

I hadn't even noticed I was crying and shaking. Fear made me a mess. Draco gently took my hand and had me stand up, with one look at the rest of the Slytherins' in the class all of them were standing up as well.

We ditched the rest of the class, all of the Slytherins did.

"You're a mess," Daphne sighed lightly as soon as we all were out the door.

"I should be mad at you for making us look weak," Draco frowned at me, "However, it seems the other houses will sympathize with us by the Hufflepuffs' reactions and we can use that to our advantage."

"I advise not crying in class ever again," Millicent Bulstrode huffed.

"Well I for one am glad to have a decent excuse to skip the class," Blaise grinned.

"What was that loony lady going on about a birthmark for anyway," Pansy snorted shaking her head in disdain.

"A star," Theodore answered. He looked into my eyes, but they didn't reveal anything.

"What's he going on about a star for," Tracey questioned.

"Theodore means that he thinks my birthmark is in the shape of a star," I sighed wiping away the last of my tears.

"I've read a book about marks that have meanings, this would suggest that the old coot was right," Draco said pulling up the sleeve of my robe to see for himself the birthmark.

"It really does," Daphne said with awe.

"It would also suggest she is the most powerful seer in her life time, though it is more often that no one is marked with the star. History would suggest you are the first," Theodore said closing his book and studying me.

"I've have no such skills, maybe I'm a screw up but I don't have any seer skills," I snapped.

"You're actions would suggest otherwise," Theodore simply stated.

"I see that it won't matter what I say, you won't believe me will you," I sighed, "Well I suppose I'll just have to live with a guilty conscience."

I pull out my Hawthorn wand and quickly before any could block or retaliate whispered, "Obliviate."

Then quickly before they could reorient themselves I cast another spell, "Falsus Memoria."

False memories replacing the ones they lost that way they wouldn't be suspicious of that moment.

Just for a moment my mask falls and all of my emotions leave my face.

"Hey that wasn't a funny joke," Blaise growled using his wand to splash water all over me. Guess their memories believed that I pulled a prank on them.

I turn around and face them with a growl, "You do remember I will be teaching a class you'll be in Blaise. I know just the right person to use for practice."

"Ugh…sorry," he questioned.

"Nice try," I smirk.

"Stupid," I hear Daphne say to Blaise who groaned in response.

Charms class was interesting as we shared it with the Gryfindors'. Professor Flitwick was trying to teach the students the proper way to swish the wand, yet you couldn't really call the angular movement to be a swish. A boy named Seamus Finnegan seemed to make every spell we tried to do in the class blow up somehow.

I had a feeling he has more potential than anyone thinks he actually has including himself. I'll have to talk to him when he comes to my class. It takes talent to make a spell about making a room dark explode. Millicent who sat beside me laughed at him rather loudly, but she herself struggled greatly with charms.

My last elective of the day was Arithmancy and I was surprised to find out how small the class was. Draco and Theodore were the only other Slytherins in the class besides me. Hermione Granger and Melisa Wellsbird were the only Gryfindors in the class. Ernie Macmillan was the only Hufflepuff and the other half of the class was dominated by six Ravenclaws. One being a girl named Cho Chang.

The first day of class was lecture only to Hermione's great disappointment. It was rather complicated, but I had already read many books on the subject beforehand.

Ernie Macmillan seemed to be struggling, but he looked even more determined than Hermione.

Theodore who sat next to me and Draco in the back row looked slightly intrigued, while Draco seemed to be making a concerned face at the numbers he rolled with his dice.

"What's wrong with the numbers you rolled," I asked curious.

"If I'm reading them correctly it's saying that I'm going to get a rather unpleasant letter from my father," Draco groaned and tossed his dice at the back of Granger's head. It was a success.

Theodore ignored everything. I raised an eyebrow at him questioning his actions. He smiled in response then turned his head back to the numbers.

"You jerk, what right do you think you have to go throwing things at the back of my head," Hermione's voice raised in pitch as she stalked up to us looking only at Draco.

"Why aren't you a filthy little mudblood," he smirked tightly gripping a lock of her hair in his hand.

"Don't you dare call me that!"

Her wand was digging into his chest before he even could raise his.

"While this is highly fascinating to watch, I would prefer that we leave and get to the Great Hall early so we can get some good seats. Draco stop bothering her don't you have better things to do? Granger, you resort to threatening a student with prohibited use of magic over things like words?"

"What would you know Ellevan you just got here to this school, you may as well be an outcast," Hermione looked like she did feel guilty about her actions and had mumbled her declaration feebly.

"I'm a Slytherin, we stick together so I'll never be an outcast," I state then turn around to the boys, "Let's go."

This was a true, yet false statement that felt like a lie on my lips.

Hermione turned around and shot Draco a look of pure disgust her lips twisted in a frown.

Draco just lifted up an eyebrow and smirked. Literally saying 'I win' with his face.

Thanks for reading and if it's not too much of a bother I wouldn't mind a review with any sort of feedback. I hope you enjoy and continue to read!
