"Who are you?" The question was simple, but held so much curiosity for such a little boy. Lily looked away, pondering what to tell the eye thief.
"I'm Lily, what's your name?" She responded, hoping the boy would stop staring at her with his- her eyes.
"That's my mommy's name!" he exclaimed. The little boy recoiled suddenly, as if he did something wrong. She sighed, twisting hair around her finger.
"Sorry for yelling." He added, just above a whisper. "It's okay." Lily told him. He was rather polite for a kid.
Lily smiled, but inside she was rather uncomfortable. Lily wasn't a real popular name, and this boy did have her eyes... Stop it! She scolded herself, and curled the hair tighter around her finger.
"So, what's your name?" Her voice came out shaky and high.
"Oh, it's Harry James Potter. My daddy's name was James." He stated proudly, like he couldn't be happier about it.
Oh. So this was a nightmare of some sort- and it seemed to be rather happy with itself. Pinching herself, Lily grinned at the wall.
Trying to convince herself that this dream was almost over, Lily indulged the little boy in his game of questions.
"Where are we?" She asked, wondering if the boy knew, considering he was a part of her thoughts.
"In the cupboard under the stairs." Harry told her, the loud energy he'd had gone. He covered his mouth in horror, reminding Lily eerily of house elves when they do something wrong.
"Aunt Petunia told me not to tell strangers that!" Harry mouthed in terror. Lily gaped open mouthed at her wild imagination. Who knew her head was this messed up?
First things first. "Your aunt is Petunia?" She sounded rather meek. "Yep, my mommy's sister." he replied.
This was starting to get annoying. Pinching her leg really, really hard, Lily was quite frustrated when she found herself right where she left off, the boy staring up at her worriedly.
Before panic mode could ensue, she forced a quavering question out of her mouth. If this wasn't a dream, it was some trick of Potter's. Remus must of helped, because there was no way Black or Potter could've made something so elaborate.
"So, you don't you live with your parents?" By now, her last worry was Harry, but amusing Potter might let her out of here. "Oh, they died when I was a baby in a car crash." Harry murmured, Lily not quite catching anything he said.
Yes, she could wake up Potter. He couldn't possibly control three people; especially if Remus was the brains here. He would pity her and stop this stupid experiment.
Hopefully.
