While Phillip was out purchasing their breakfast, Aurora began trying to remember how appliances in their home worked. The easiest for her to understand was the television, as all she had to do was press buttons with numbers on them to change the channels. Her downfall was the dreaded stove and oven in the kitchen. There were too many dials and knobs in her opinion, and almost none of them made any sense. She knew she'd learn eventually, but for the moment in time, it was lost knowledge to the poor Princess.
After a few minutes of struggling with the nasty appliance, she returns to the television to watch the kid channel that the Sheriff had helped her change it to. She was told that it was the safest thing for her and her family to be watching until they had settled down in the world. Aurora smiles as Dora comes onto the screen, watching her curiously. It always intrigued her that someone so small could be so intelligent at some points and unintelligent at others.
Just as she was getting into the show, however, she heard a loud crash outside and saw a blinding flash. She convinces herself it's just a storm, but hurries outside to make sure. Everywhere, people were running about and screaming to one another for help. She stays still in her spot, trying to listen to what people where saying.
"We should've never let those three in!" One man shouts over to his wife, holding her close as they hurried to hide from the magical storm that was settling in.
"Blame the Mayor! She's the one who trusted them." A woman hisses, protecting her child.
More words of hatred were thrown at different people when suddenly Aurora hears the name she'd hoped to never hear again. The name of the woman who ruined her life and caused her to sleep for so long: Maleficent.
Swallowing her fear, she rushes to find Phillip to warn him about the villain's return into their lives. She didn't know what the evil enchantress would do when she found her, her husband, and child. She knew people were glaring at her when she shot through their path, but she didn't have time to lose. Her fear was the only thing that kept her running past the people in the streets and at the shop where Phillip had gone. Nothing could be worse than Maleficent being in town.
She finally finds him struggling to count the money he had with him properly, rushing to hug onto him tightly. Her body shakes with terror as she burrows her face into her beloved husband's chest.
"Phillip, she's here. She's in Storybrooke," She whispers, crying softly. Nothing this frightening had happened to her since the day of her curse. Aurora just didn't understand why today had to be the day that her only enemy came to destroy everyone's happiness.
Phillip tenses up, pulling his precious Princess closer to him. He had made an oathe on the day of her marriage that he would protect her even if it meant his own life. He knew he couldn't let her down now that that witch was in town.
"I won't let her hurt you, my sweet," He promises, stroking her hair gently, "Everything is going to be just fine. We're going to get through this just like we did last time, okay?"
The young Princess nods weakly, gripping his loose fitting red shirt tightly. Tears make their way down her pale cheeks, wetting the soft material. She didn't know if she could make it through another sleeping curse. The previous one had left her so damaged that she hardly ever slept.
Trying to be calm, Phillip gently scoops Aurora up and starts to carry her out of the shop. Doughnuts were the least of his worries now that the wicked Maleficent was in town and on the path of destruction.
