Prologue

As soon as Anastasia walked through the door, she was spellbound.

Marble floors and sparkling chandeliers. Shelf after shelf of royal purple, cerulean blue, lime green, sunflower yellow, ruby red and rose pink. A cabinet full of sweet smelling conconctions bottled up in neat lines. Mirrors decorating every spare space on the wall.

Or, to any other 14 year-old, a makeup studio.

Just with a single glance, Astra knew, that this place was perfect for the task. A few hours, give or take, and she would come out completely transformed.

And that was she had in mind.

Anastasia strolled over to the counter tucked into the corner of the room, her eyes still dancing across the studio. A young lady stood behind it, flicking through a thick stack of paper.

"Can I help you?" She asked when she noticed the young girl staring around the room in wonder

"Y-yes" Anastasia stuttered "Yes please"

The lady smiled, her mouth a bright flash of red lipstick and blinding white teeth

"What would you like?"

The lady - named Rachel (Not Rachel Elizabeth Dare BTW) - guided Anastacia around the shop and by the time Anastacia exited the door, she carried two large Mecca Maxima bags.

For days after, each afternoon was spent with hours in front of a mirror. By the end of the week, she had nailed it.

Step 1 / looks

Step 2 / personality

Chapter 1

Felix folded his arms around his knees and prayed it would work. It was dark but he could feel the smooth limestone walls under his skin, so cold it sent shivers up his body. If anything, it kept him awake and focused. Two essential things he couldn't afford to lose.

Essential - if you were being hunted.

Outside the stars blinked against a midnight blue sky and the moon hung silvery pale. Usually Felix would appreciate the natural beauty a starry night, but today wasn't usual.

Very unusual

Especially since he was sitting inside a mountain 1,000 meters off the ground.

Felix had spotted the beasts two week ago, they weren't hard to miss, skulking around town center. No one noticed them and they payed attention to no one.

Then they spotted him. Yellow eyes sparkling with malice.

Felix knew that even if he ran, they would find him.

Anyone would be able recognise the hungry gleam of a hunters eye, know that whatever they did, the hunter wouldn't cease to catch them

So Felix had transitioned from a normal term at school to deadly hide and seek in the fjords of Queenstown.

Hey guys! First Chapter, a little short! Sorry it took so long, the planning kinda held me back :) What do you think of it?
