Author's Note: Yeah, it's been a buttload of time since the last time I've updated this story, but I felt like we needed some more Koumi stories up in this bitch. In fact, what's up with the lack of Digimon stories in general? Idk if it's just me, but it seems like the fanfiction is kinda dying ito compared to a couple of years ago, and I guess I'm partly to blame for that. To be honest, I'm not as active as I used to be- maybe it's cause the fanbase is getting older, but I think between writing this story and Odaiba Host Club, I might start being a more passive member here. Again, sorry to everyone who's been following, but here's the latest update after years of waiting. Lots of love and candy,

Lily

Chapter 2

"Are you sure you weren't dreaming?" Sora yawned.

"I'm super positive!" Mimi protested.

"I don't know. Remember that time you swore you saw Sofia Vergara in Ikea, but it just happened to be some regular Colombian woman who was very freaked that you wanted to take a picture with her?" Sora shook her head.

"But she looked like Sofia Vergara! Come on, you can't tell me she didn't!" Mimi exclaimed.

"Yeah, I guess...but let's get back on track. So what exactly happened between you and Izzy?" Sora asked.

"So we were dancing and then he kissed me and I told him that he wasn't my type, like at all so he apologized and kinda disappeared the rest of the night. I felt bad," Mimi bit her lip.

"Maybe he just drank too much," Sora shrugged.

"That's the thing. When I went to talk to him about it the next morning, he said he didn't remember doing anything of that sort and that he didn't even drink enough to black out either," Mimi frowned.

"Did it occur to you that he was probably very embarrassed about the whole situation? He's not exactly a risk-taker, and the one time he does it, he gets shot in the foot. Of course it would be in his nature to pretend it never happened," Sora sipped at her tea.

"Well, what the hell am I supposed to do? It's not like I can force myself to like him," Mimi made a face.

"No, I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying that it would be an Izzy move to pull something like that, not that it's right to do. Pretty chicken if you ask me. So you think that's why he hasn't been coming down here for a couple of weeks now?" Sora asked.

"I'm like 99% positive!" Mimi crossed her arms.

"This kinda makes me sad, honestly. Now that occurs to me, I think you guys would make a cute couple," Sora sighed.

"What? Why?" Mimi made a face.

"Come on, you had to admit you guys had a little something as kids. You were always teasing Izzy," Sora gave her a look.

"But I teased everyone. I was rather annoying as a kid," Mimi giggled.

"No, it was a little different with you two. Me, Tai, and Matt thought you guys were flirting with each other...guess it was just one-sided then, huh?" Sora smirked.

"Most definitely! Besides, didn't he have other girlfriends anyways? I highly doubt he was paying attention to me at the time," Mimi scoffed.

"Yes...who if I recall correctly, kinda looked like you. Wavy, long brown hair, small, and thin, very stylish people- I think one of them was named Kimmie, kinda rhymes with Mimi," Sora said.

"Shut up. Now you're really making things up where there was nothing," Mimi laughed.

"And you aren't? Izzy told Tai that he was too tied up at work to visit lately," Sora said.

"I call bullshit, and I'll prove it to you!" Mimi said.

"Hey, Frizzy! Are you coming down for the weekend? Haven't seen you in a while!" Tai asked.

"Love to, but I have a big work assignment," Izzy sighed.

"Come on! A couple of days isn't gonna kill you, is it? Like when was the last time you had some time off?" Tai asked.

"Ugh...," Izzy groaned.

"Sounds like you need a break. You should come over for the weekend!" Tai said.

"I don't know...," Izzy paused.

"Just wanna give you a heads-up that if you do come down this weekend, you might have to hang tight for a bit. Mimi's gonna be in LA for a week, so you might be by yourself unless I can get someone to cover my shift-"

"Yeah, I'll come down. Besides, I guess it wouldn't hurt to explore the city alone for a bit," Izzy said.

"Good news, I got someone to cover my shift! Alright! So I'll see you Friday night?" Tai asked.

"Sure," Izzy said.

"Cool. See ya then! Oh, by the way, take the train this time. I don't wanna find myself having to drive your car back. What the hell is up with the streets in Boston? You like us getting lost?" Tai asked.

"Goodbye, Tai," Izzy hung up his phone.

"He's coming over!" Tai said.

"Did you tell him I was going to be gone this weekend?" Mimi asked.

"Yeah," Tai said.

"Hah, told you!" Mimi said.

"Yeah, what's up with that anyways? He doesn't like you or something? Cause if I remember correctly, I think one of the reasons he came here was because of you," Tai raised an eyebrow.

"What?!" Mimi gasped.

"Wait, that sounds weird...how do I rephrase this? Okay, so he liked coming here because he had fun here. He said there's no one he has a better time with like in Boston and he misses us. He just appreciated that you took time out of your day to make his trips worthwhile, that's all," Tai shrugged.

"Oh," Mimi pursed her lips.

"Yeah, so I don't understand why you would say he doesn't want to see you again," Tai frowned.

"He kissed me at a party, but I sorta rejected him. Maybe I was a bit harsh, but like I... I was taken by surprise, ya know?" Mimi said.

"What did you say?" Tai asked.

"I just told him he wasn't my type. Like not at all," Mimi said.

"Hey, at least you were honest," Tai shrugged.

"I don't know, I just wish that night never happened," Mimi groaned. "And then it sucked cause even I told Sora, she was all 'I always thought you two had some chemistry, you were always picking on each other'."

"Yeah, had to admit...kinda shipped you guys for a bit, but then I grew up," Tai smirked.

"Shipped? What's that?" Mimi raised an eyebrow.

"Ya know, when you want two people to link up, like in a relationship. Shipping, relationship," Tai explained.

"Oh...," Mimi said.

"Look, you guys were just kids and everyone plays around as kids. I mean, me and Matt played around too, but I really hope that people didn't think that we would make a cute couple. Or how everyone picked on Joe...then he'd be the most shippable person on Earth. See, doesn't make sense," Tai shrugged.

"Yeah, you're right. That's what I was telling Sora," Mimi frowned.

"Psh, she's a hopeless romantic at heart. Careful, unless you want to end up with Izzy...not that it's necessarily a bad thing. He's a good guy, but if he's not your type, that's okay," Tai shook his head.

"Thanks. At least someone understands," Mimi sighed.

"Hey, you can't force things. I was watching this court show on TV and you know that the judge said? Force leads to divorce! Look what happened to Ken and Yolei! Who the hell thought that was a good idea in the first idea?" Tai asked.

"But the sex seemed to be good. They had like a thousand kids, right?"

"Gross. Don't even want to think about that," Tai grimaced.

"Sorry," Mimi bit her lip.

"Ugh. Nasty...," Tai shivered.

Friday Night...

"Yeah, just meet up at Sora's like usual. I'll be there in 10!" Tai said.

"Alright," Izzy said. He adjusted his backpack and pressed the buzzer.

"Hey. Come on in!" Sora said through the intercom.

"Thank you," Izzy pushed the door and made his way to the front of the apartment. He had no idea why he felt nervous, it's not like Mimi was-

"Hey, good to see you here."

"Yeah. Same," Izzy could barely muster.
