Hello everyone, I've taken a renewed interest in writing here in college. I have risen from the dead! During that time I have actually completed a lot of stories, but never uploaded them. I miss an audience, so I have returned! I will finish this one, upload the rest of Rosetta's chapters, and start uploading at least once a week on my three brand new, completed stories on Fawn, Silvermist, and Dulcie. Then I will begin writing my best novel yet that furthers the story of The Pirate Fairy and the Pixie Hollow Games. That story will not necessarily follow the pattern of the Disney Fairies chapter books. I hope you like mild horror, because that's what pretty much all of my fairies stories are about! Enjoy!

The sun was peeking through the curtains on the window. Fawn opened one eye. Was it morning already? She yawned and lousily crawled out of bed. She braided her long, brunette hair and threw on her favorite jumper. After tossing her pajamas down the laundry chute, she flew downstairs into the tearoom. Several fairies were already seated. Fawn spotted Beck and Nollie at the animal talent table and grabbed a seat. They both looked as tired as she did.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Fawn questioned.

"Not really," Beck replied. "Did you?"

"I kept waking up after we visited the bats," Fawn said. She gave another jaw-popping yawn.

"My problem was going to sleep in the first place." Nollie answered.

"I guess we're all tired. Maybe we can have a quick nap this afternoon." Beck said.

They all agreed. Just then the serving-talents began bringing out the breakfast dishes. There were strawberry muffins, buckwheat pancakes, poppy puff rolls, and all sorts of delicious treats. Fawn filled her plate twice. Just after she finished her tea, she heard Rhia clinking her cup. That meant Queen Clarion had an announcement to make. Fawn and everyone else turned towards the front of the room.

"Fairies, I believe I have some distressing news." Queen Clarion had a solemn look on her face. "Late last night, while you were all asleep, a mine shaft collapsed in the caves. Thankfully, the moon was only a crescent, and no miners were in the caves at the time."

Everyone in the room gasped. Beck looked horrified.

But we were in the caves. And so were the bats, thought Fawn.

She was about to ask Queen Clarion about it, but Beck beat her to it.

"Queen Clarion, we were at the entrance to the caves last night. Do you know if the bats are alright?"

"I'm afraid I do not know," Queen Clarion replied. "The scouts just discovered what happened a few hours ago. They haven't worked out all the details yet. In fact, we are unsure of why the shaft collapsed in the first place, given it has sustained much worse conditions in the past."

Just then, Latia, who was an animal-talent also, flew into the tearoom. She seemed to be in a rush.

"I'm sorry I'm late for breakfast, your highness, but I found out some more about the mine shaft." she said.

"You have?" the Queen asked.

"Yes. I was down by the beach cove gathering sand for Melena, one of the glass-blowing fairies, since she's running a little behind schedule. Just as I was about to leave, a huge seagull landed beside me. He told me he had an urgent message. He had been chatting with another seabird who lives north of here, finding out that there had been an earthquake on the island he lives on as well. He thinks Neverland dodged most of it, but not enough to sustain minimal damage."

"Thank you Latia. You have been quite helpful. If you see the seagull again, give him my thanks. In the meantime, I would like all of the animal, mining, and pots-n-pans talents to gather in the courtyard for a meeting. Thank you all for being patient. You may all finish your breakfast." Queen Clarion finished.

The rest of the fairies finished up their meal, and the serving talents began taking up the dirty plates. Beck grabbed a few rolls and a muffin for another Doves breakfast and they all set out for the courtyard. They stopped outside to get their daily fairy dust from Terence, a dust-keeper fairy, and flew off discussing the matter.

"What time does Echo and the rest go out to catch insects in the night!" Nollie asked. Beck had flown off to being another Dove her morning meal before the meeting started.

"I think they go out around seven, and then again around midnight, but I'm not really sure." Fawn replied.

"There is the slight possibility then. But what about the babies? They're too young to hunt on their own!" Nollie said.

"You're right they may have still been inside." Fawn came to a standstill. "Well here we are at the courtyard. It looks like the scouts are here too, so maybe they will have more news for us."

Fawn and Nollie sat down with the rest of the animal talents. Just as Viola, a messenger fairy, blew her horn for attention, Beck flew into the courtyard. She looked concerned.

"I fed Mother Dove the muffins. While I was there she told me she felt the quivering of the trees and knew there had been an earthquake. She's worried that a full fledge earthquake could uproot the Hawthorne tree. I assured her that we would be right there if anything happened and protect the egg. The worst thing that could happen would be for it to fall out of the nest." Beck explained.

Fawn nodded as Queen Clarion flew to the front. The queen cleared her throat. The meeting had begun.

Cliffhanger!!!! I'm busy typing up the next chapter now, so you won't have to wait long I promise. RR and let me know what you think.
