Detonate started to wake up as he felt something brushing against his face.

His first thought was Riku had gotten tired of him avoiding his texts and calls and finally showed up in person to climb into bed with him and attempt to get some bonding time, but that was when he realized the sheets of whatever bed he was in were too coarse to be his. They weren't riku's either, he knew that for a fact. And neither was the hand that was touching him.

Then he remembered.

Noctly waking him up, being dragged to the store, trying to eat.

Then Kai. Being chased around the house, being attacked, being raped.

Before Detonate could react to the memory of Kai using him, he remembered what the water type had said.

"Riku beat you. He doesn't need you."

Maybe under another circumstance the typhlosion would have taken the chance to fling himself out of bed and bolt for the door. Kai wasn't expecting that, and he could probably get away if he moved fast enough. But as soon as he remembered the last conversation before he passed out he lost all motivation to try.

Riku didn't want him, but Kai did.

He knew Riku wouldn't admit that, and Detonate couldn't even say it out loud. But someone else saw that, so it must be true, right?

Riku couldn't want what he was now.

Before Detonate's thoughts could continue to run off, he felt Kai's thumb go to his lips and press lightly on the bite mark he gave himself the night before to keep himself from crying out loud and it made him jolt in defense. He practically felt the smirk Kai gave when he saw Detonate was waking up and slowly opened his eyes. The feraligatr was propped up on his side facing him and pulled his hand back, licking his thumb and looking him over.

"Good morning Detonate." He mused, leaning closer to the typhlosion's face. "I hope you slept well."

The fire type stayed quiet, looking away and shifting a little to try and put distance between them. He wasn't ready to fully accept Riku didn't want him and he'd have to go back to Kai. The water type frowned and narrowed his eyes at the younger man before reaching out again, putting his arms around his waist and pulling him closer. Detonate flinched and wheezed as he was moved, a sharp pain going through his lower body and up his spine.

"Ohhh poor baby." Kai whispered, starting to rub the other's lower back when he felt him jolt upwards. "I'm sorry I didn't prep you or anything, I was just so excited to get back to "us"…" Detonate's ears went back and he refused to look at him, even when he started leaving kisses on his cheeks. "I'll tell you what," he let go of the fire type and sat up, starting to get off the bed. "I'll start a bath and we can get breakfast, then I'll take you home. Sound good?"

Detonate was a little too busy messing with the edge of the sheet, lost in his own thoughts to really understand the feraligatr. That bothered him, as he caught the annoyed huff, but he heard him step away towards the bathroom connected to the bed room they were in. Detonate tried to slowly push himself back down on the bed, wishing it would just swallow him, and started to fall back asleep until he felt arms going around him again and lift him up. The typhlosion let out a startled but weak gasp and struggled slightly against Kai's arms.

"Detonate." The tone of the feraligatr's voice made him stop, trying not to shake. He didn't want a repeat. "That's my good boy." He kept himself from flinching and closed his eyes as Kai kissed the side of his head. If he behaved and didn't make him mad he'd be fine.

Kai carried Detonate into the bathroom and sat him in the filled bathtub, helping him out of his shirt before taking off his own clothes that he hadn't bothered to remove the night before. The typhlosion sat quietly in the tub, looking everywhere but at Kai with only partial interest. The older man got in with him and started talking, but Detonate didn't pay attention until he felt his hands on his arms.

Detonate flinched and pulled back, looking at him quickly. The other only smirked and reached out for his arms again without breaking eye contact. Detonate could only imagine how nervous and submissive he looked and it started to make him sick to think about.

"Did you hear me Detonate?" Kai started to use his hands to pour water on Detonate's shoulders. "I asked what you wanted to eat. I'm feeling like I want pancakes but I want you to choose."

"I...those are fine…" his voice was quieter than he wanted it to be and he looked down at the water, forcing himself to breath properly. The chuckle that came from Kai almost made him vomit.

"You have good taste, baby." Detonate kept his eyes down as he let Kai wash him off, managing to block out enough of his talking so that he could start to doze off as he massaged his head with shampoo. Once again, he was almost asleep before he felt Kai suddenly move and he jerked himself awake in time for the feraligatr to press his mouth roughly against his.

Detonate let out a muffled squeak and slunk down in the tub, eyes wide as he started whimpering. Kai's hands pulled Detonate's face up and closer, not letting him get farther away as he forced his tongue between his teeth and into his mouth. The fire type gripped the side of the tub hard to give him something to hold on to as he gave in and let Kai have what he wanted.

The bath took longer than Detonate ever would have wanted it to, but before he knew it he was curled up on the living room couch's corner in front of the tv in a clean shirt and jeans that belonged to Kai. He let the plate of pancakes sit on the cushion next to him as he picked them apart with his fingers, cheek resting on his knee as he tried to focus on the show that was showing men looking through storage containers. Kai sat on the recliner to the right of him, having no trouble eating.

Only after did a man on the show answer his cellphone did Detonate remember his own. Where was it? He couldn't remember if he had dropped it or if Kai had took it, but he quickly glanced around the room that he had frantically tried to get out of the day before. It had to be there somewhere if he did drop it. He hadn't noticed Kai look over and he met his gaze when he turned his head to look around the ground for his phone near the recliner.

Kai didn't look too pleased, already mildly annoyed with the typhlosion for not really eating the food he made, but he put his plate on the coffee table and got up.

"Looking for this?" he reached into his short's pocket and took out Detonate's phone. His ears went up when he saw it and showed more alertness than he had all morning. Kai smirked and walked over. "I thought so." He held it out to Detonate but pulled it back when he reached for it.

"Wait." The tone sounded dangerous and Detonate sunk back in the couch, his eyes going down so he wouldn't make contact with the other's. "What do you say?"

Detonate shifted slightly, trying to think of what he meant.

"Detonate."

"Th-thank you…"

"Excuse me?"

Detonate kept his eyes away, not knowing what else the feraligatr wanted. After what felt like an hour to the fire type, Kai made an annoyed grunt and tossed the phone at his legs. "Guess we're going to have to work on that huh? Fucking again. Took you months to get it last time." detonate didn't respond and didn't move until Kai stepped away to take his plate out, grumbling crossly under his breath.

Once Kai was in the other room he turned his phone on. It took seconds for it to be flooded with texts and missed calls, and he noticed his voicemail was full. He sighed and exited out all of his alerts, not up to checking them anymore. Seeing the mass of texts and calls from Riku sent his motivation out the window. Why was he contacting him? He didn't need him.

Detonate put his phone back down and went back to trying to eat his pancakes, trying not to let himself doze off. Kai came back not long after and sat next to him on the couch, making detonate tense up slightly. He took his phone and started to look through it and detonate held back the urge to take it from him, anticipating a punishment.

"There's something you need to do baby." Kai leaned back on the couch, scrolling up through some messages. "Preferably today. That way it's done." Detonate glanced at him, narrowing his eyes slightly as he waited for an explanation. "Fuck who the hell leaves this many texts…" the water type growled crossly but soon stopped scrolling and leaned closer, holding the phone in front of Detonate's face.

He was in Riku's messages, stopped at a message that was sent from Detonate's phone last night.

We need to talk.

Detonate felt his heart practically sink into his stomach. He didn't send that.

His eyes went back to Kai's face, starting to tear up, and the feraligatr smiled at him. "I'd do it for you if I could, but this is something you need to do. Your team wont even let me in the drive way." He locked the phone and put it in Detonate's lap before putting his hand on his face, pulling it up away from his knees. "You need to tell him you know he doesn't want you. How dare he lie to you, you know? That's so shitty." He moved closer and tilted the younger man's face up, moving his thumb over the light bruise forming on his cheek from when his hydro pump threw him into the wall. "But I'd never lie to you. You know that, you know me."

Detonate did his best to keep himself from crying, he knew that Kai wouldn't mind him crying this time but he still refused to let himself do it. He shouldn't be so upset over losing Riku, he's had weeks to come to terms with it. He just didn't want to.

But Riku deserved someone who would help him get stronger, not drag him down.

Kai let him go and Detonate put his head back down, looking at the plate of torn up pancakes between them as the water type got up. He heard him say something about leaving in an hour.

Detonate sat tensely in the front seat of Kai's car gripping his bag of clothes tightly in his lap as he stared out the window. They were turning on his street. It was nearly three in the afternoon and he wasn't even considering how frantic his team would be, all he could think about was Riku.

Kai pulled up close to his house and he slowly got out of the car, still sore and trying not to aggravate the pain more by moving around too quickly. He hardly understood Kai saying goodbye to him and watched him drive away, standing in his front yard for a good minute or so before heading to his door and pushing it open.

"He's been gone almost twenty four hours!" Noctly was shouting into her phone as he stepped inside. "What do you mean you cant do anything? I called last night and you told me to call today!" His team was gathered in the living room, them sitting on the couches while the noctowl paced in front of the television screeching at what Detonate assumed was the police. Rett was frantically texting on her phone and Toka and Shocks were huddled together trying to breath properly as they listened to Noctly. Jewel was pacing by the sliding glass door, rubbing her hands together nervously.

Detonate stayed in the entry hall, watching them and trying to figure out how to make his presence known, when the nearby bathroom door opened and Riku stepped out rubbing his stomach.

Detonate tensed up, and felt his legs almost give out when he saw Riku look over at him. His sad and scared expression turned into relief when he saw Detonate and he threw himself on him, holding onto him tightly and nearly screaming.

"Detonate! Detonate you're okay!" everyone stopped and looked over, frozen for a second before copying the other typhlosion and suffocating them both in hugs and worried questions.

Detonate tried not to tense up too bad, but kept his head down so he wouldn't look at Riku. He could feel the other typhlosion shaking and crying as he held onto him, and it made him start to tear up.

Finally, Noctly made everyone separate from their team leader and tried to get him to sit down but he shook his head and refused.

"I-I'm really tired, I'll tell you guys what happened later…okay?" he said, managing to get his voice at an almost normal tone before stepping towards the stairs. He saw Rett open her mouth and move closer, but Noctly stopped her.

"That's fine Detonate, we'll all be here."

He glanced at Riku and felt sick when he saw the worried look on his face. "C-can you come up with me?" Riku perked up and nodded, and Detonate could practically feel how badly he wanted answers. He just didn't want to give them.

The two went up to Detonate's room and he made sure to shut the door all the way, Riku going right for his bed and sitting on it to wait for him.

"A-Are you okay though?" he asked, looking him over as he got closer. "You haven't really looked at anyone um…"

Detonate nodded and stopped near his bed, looking at it for a moment before going around it to stand in front of Riku. Before he could ask another question he grabbed his hands and held them tightly, trying not to shake or even look at him.

"De what's-"
"Riku I cant do this to you anymore…" he cut him off, able to hear his voice shaking. He felt Riku tense up.

"What…what are you talking about?"

"I know you're just…still here because you feel like you have to be." He started, unable to look up. "I-I know I'm just keeping you back, you can be stronger and…I cant make you stronger anymore…" Riku yanked his hands away from Detonate's and got up, making the older typhlosion back up a little.

"Where did you get that idea?" Riku tried to sound firm, but Detonate caught the small crack in the middle of his question.

"I didn't get it anywhere…I know you feel that way…"

"Bullshit!"

"Riku you wanted me b-because I was stronger than you! You looked up to me! A-and now I'm…" he trailed off, his tears finally making their way down his cheeks as he shook his head and pulled his hands closer. "You need someone better…I'm not who you want anymore…"

He heard Riku reply with some kind of yell, but he couldn't understand what it was. He just kept his head down and held onto his own hands tightly, keeping them pressed against his chest as Riku's voice grew more and more frantic, wanting Detonate's attention.

"I cant do this to you anymore…" he repeated, backing up more and turning to the side so Riku couldn't see his face. Out of all of Riku's trembling replies, the only one he could make out was "I do love you…" but before he could decide on to turn around or stay put, he heard his door slam shut and Riku run for the stairs.

Detonate stayed still for a little bit before slowly sinking to his knees, resting his head against the wall as he tried to keep his sobs quiet. He didn't want his team to hear him. But they probably were waiting for him outside, and they were probably going to ask about Riku. He couldn't handle that yet.

He hesitated, but once he caught his breath and managed to control his crying a little he took out his phone and texted Kai.
