The Long Trip
*Whoosh* was the only sound I hear as we went flying off into the night. The sound of the wind was quite calming as well as the bright lights of the town in the distance. This is what I loved best when flying at night; it brings a calming feeling to me.
As I was thinking about the way the wind felt on my wings, I realized something important at that moment.
"Wait a minute. Why didn't we just leave the house and go into a forest or abandoned park so that just in case we won't be seen by any of the neighbors." I asked Sasuke, who seems to be enjoying himself making a triple back flips in the air.
"You know, why didn't we think of that in the first place. There could be a possibility that we were seen" Says Sasuke.
"Well, they could have seen our shadows or something after all we are not wearing any bright colors that spell out 'look at us'" I say.
"It does not even matter at the moment. Now then, can I transform now? We are no longer near any civilization or lone humans around" asked Sasuke.
"Sure, be my guest. I haven't seen you in your true form for so many years. I do miss it like my own form but unlike you, I can't transform at all without being seen" I say sadly, remembering I am stuck in this human form because the humans easily, unlike Sasuke, cannot see my real form.
Sasuke seems to be able to read my thoughts for he says, "oh, don't worry. I'm sure you will be able to if we go to an isolated spot like an island or the middle of nowhere surrounded large masses of water."
"Yeah, your right. Than that will be where we go for our next vacation," I say excitedly, thinking about getting out of this form and into my actual one.
I turn to Sasuke and whispered, "You can transform now."
After I said that, Sasuke flew foreword-gaining speed while I slowed down to give him space. You would not be able to compare how awesome it looks to see him transform like something out of an anime where the characters start to transform with lots of affect. Streaks of light started to surround his body, as he shot up into the sky. A large ball of light is what you can see as a large figure started to come out of the light. Finally, the lights disburse like fireworks on the fourth of July. There stood a large bird about 10 feet tall with black feathers covered in metal armor from head to claw.
He stares at me with his bright yellow eyes filled with excitement and says, "Finally, it has been a long time since I was able to transform."
"Yeah, anyways let's continue. We still have a long ways to go before we reach our destination," I say.
"How much further is it?" asked Sasuke flying around in circles.
"We still have about 3 more hours of flight to go," I say, "not to mention we are above the Atlantic Ocean if you haven't noticed"
All was silent, but the sound of our flapping wings and the smell of the ocean under us. It has been a long time since we have been on this planet, watching these inhabitants grow as their civilization rose up.
"You know," says Sasuke, "we should find a better way of travel instead of trying to fly to our location like a bunch of geese. We should buy a jet or something that is super fast or a teleportation device like in those sci-fi movies I keep watching on TV."
I just kept staring up ahead not paying attention to what he is saying for I have spotted land meaning we are soon going to reach our destination.
"Too bad, we are not going to buy a jet or create some teleportation device like you said. Plus we are reaching land soon so keep on your guard. We don't know what those meteors are or if anyone is going to investigate them when they land," I warn my friend.
"True, but if someone does find them before us than what are we going to do?" he says.
"Easy, we follow them and retrieve the relic when no one is looking or we can kill them all and leave no evidence behind. Which would you prefer?" I ask him.
"Uh, I prefer the retrieving the relic, thank you very much. I do not want any blood on our hands or wings from something so simple. Want are you thinking? We can not just go around killing people for something so simple." He says in an unhappy manner.
"Well, that is the pretty of how I think. I didn't think at all when I suggested the killing them part. Plus you know me; I would not go around killing people for the fun of it. Really, what do you take me for?" I said.
"You, my dear, are a lunatic and a blood thirsty monster is what I think of you but I'm used to the way you think though it does explain why you have no friends at all." He said.
I ignored his last comment for we are right in the area where the meteors would crash but there were already a bunch of military men around this desert region.
"Crap," I said, " what the hell are the military doing here?"
"Looks like they're here for the same reasons as us," say Sasuke, "but why would be the question?"
He seemed puzzled by this and so was I. Usually they people would not pay attention to these things unless some scientist wanted to study them. Something does not seem right around her. It almost smells fishy.
"Sasuke stop eating that fish. It's giving me a headache from just the smell. Where the hell did you get that anyways?" I question him.
"What. I caught it when we were still above the ocean while you were in Lala land." He answered.
As he was explaining how he got the fish, my attention was caught on some strange vehicles that these guys brought with them. There was a semi truck, GMS truck, Pontiac solstice, and a search and rescue ambulance. There seem to give off some strange familiar energy like I have seen them before in a faraway memory which to tell the truth is strange.
"Hey, don't those vehicles seem familiar to you?" I asked Sasuke as he was finishing eating the fish.
"Well, no not really but something in my mind is telling me to be weary of them," Answered Sasuke, "it looks strange that the military would have such flashy cars to a meteor sighting."
"We better be careful not to grab their attention," I said, "though that further meteor has the relic so we better come up with a plan to distract them to get that relic."
As we were looking down toward the humans who seem to be a part of a group named N.E.S.T and their expensive cars, something we did not anticipate was them transforming into mechanical humanoid forms. Well, I thought, that explains the weird signal they were emitting.
"Holy cow, what are we going to do now?" Asked Sasuke who seems not to believe what we are witnessing now.
"Wwweeeellll, we have a couple of options to go about this," I answered, " Option A is to come up with some elaborate plan to sneakily go pass them and retrieve the relic, Option B is to take them all out but become heavily damaged as a result and we could possibly not make it, Option C is to follow them and when their not paying attention to grab the relic and get out or Option D which is still in the developing stages. Any more questions?"
Sasuke looked at me as if I was crazy or something, which I would not pass it by him.
"Yeah a real quick one, what is happening to the meteors?" asked Sasuke.
"Wait…. what!" I answered looking back down at the meteors that seem to be cracking open with more mechanical humanoids coming out. Well, there goes our quiet, easy night. All five meteors seem to have contained extraterrestrials inside of them.
"Well, know what are we suppose to do now since our retrieval mission has leveled up." Asked Sasuke looking down wearily now that our simple plan has been complicated.
"Our options still stand but with more details added, we just have to watch them now and see any openings but first we must locate the relic." I answered back watching down on both these humans and their out of this world friends. Yes, all we can do now is wait and observe.
