Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, it's been well over a month like I had originally wanted my updates to not exceed, but here it is. This is probably one of my longest chapters, with two duels and seventeen pages. Yeah, you read that right, you get two duels this chapter. The first may seem rushed and a little bad, but it was me warming up to writing duels again (I'd taken a break and started drafting for a Walking Dead Oc driven story and a Highschool DxD fanfic {Talk about two different sides of the spectrum} ). But, I hope you enjoy them and leave me bunches of reviews telling what you think. I'm a little skeptical to taking flames, but if you wish to just remember I gave the warning that characters would be OOC and that OC would be present.

A/N: As of 2/15/2014 this chapter has been updated to re-write the error I made in Chazz and Jaden's duel, if any more errors are noted please notify me and I will rectify them ASAP. Thank you. (Originally loaded- 2/13/2014)

A/N: (1/9/2015) Correcting a lot of mistakes her and on Chapter 1, while slightly modifying the Character sheet given to you folk. Also, very proud to announce the release of Chapter 3 in the coming days.

Whelp, onto the story, I hope you al enjoy my work. Stay tuned for the A/N at the bottom for some explanations.

Chapter Two: Academy Island

LDX/LDX\LDX

"Good morning, and welcome my young students," A bald man with a goatee said on the large screen at the front of the room. It had been a couple hours since the ending of the entrance exams, the newest recruits being brought over by helicopters. Then, once they'd all landed, gathered in one of the larger classrooms, for orientation.

"I am Chancellor Sheppard, the Headmaster of this Academy," The man continued, a large smile on his face. "You are the best and brightest young duelist in the world, and over the years you spend here, you will become even stronger than you already were. Here, you will refine your skill and become the best at what you do," He stated, looking at the mixture of students with warmth in his grey eyes.

"You will be separated into one of three dorms," He continued, his face being replaced by the image of the three Egyptian gods the dorms were named for. "The ones who scored highest on both test, will be moving into Obelisk Blue," His voice informed, the image of the Tormentor being highlighted. "Those of you who scored higher on the written test, but not as high on the field exam; will be a Ra Yellow," The image of the Winged Dragon becoming highlighted as he finished. "And, those of you who have more heart than any, and scored higher on the field test than the written test; will be rooming at Slifer Red," He finished as the Sky Dragon was highlighted alongside it's fellow gods.

"Now, I want you all to settle in at your respective dorms, I'm sure you will find your accommodations to be most satisfactory," Sheppard continued with the same smile. "Depending on how you placed, of course," He chuckled to himself before the feed cut off.

"Sheppard really can talk," Melanie sighed, she was now wearing the regulation female blue uniform.

"Stop being so melodramatic, Mel," Jaden chuckled, he was wearing a unique variation of the Obelisk Blue uniform. His being unique, because unlike most his was styled more like the Ra and Slifer blazers, not having any tails. But, it differed because unlike theirs, his had no sleeves revealing the long sleeves of his black undershirt.

"Do you even know what, melodramatic means?" Melanie asked, glaring at her brunette best friend.

Jaden got a thoughtful look on his face, "Um, yeah," He began looking at the shorter girl. "You," He pointed, making the girl growl at him as he laughed. "Chill out, Melanie, you've got all year to ring my neck," He laughed even harder.

"Are, are you two always like this?" Syrus asked nervously from Jaden's left. He'd originally thought that people like Melanie and Jaden wouldn't talk to him, him being in Slifer Red and all. But, he was told otherwise by Jaden; that at least, he and Mel where his friends.

"You could say that," Melanie mumbled, rolling her eyes at Jaden. "Well, I'll see you two around, I'm off to the girl's dorm, try and not be late to your welcome dinners," She asked, waving as she walked away from the two.

"So, how about we take a look around, Syrus," Jaden asked, looking down at the short Slifer.

"I don't know-" He started to protest, before Jaden grabbed him by the shoulder and started dragging him anyway.

"You really need to work on that confidence of yours, Syrus, we're just checking the place out," Jaden laughed as he dragged the boy through the hallways.

After, maybe twenty minutes of Syrus being drug around, the two stopped at a large archway. "Would you look at this place," Syrus awed, looking at the large arena.

"I've gotta say, it's probably the nicest duel arena I've seen in a while," Jaden agreed, looking around himself.

"Hey," a new voice cut-in. "What do you think you're doing bringing a Slifer here," a teal haired boy with glasses asked, looking at Jaden.

"Last time I checked, he's a student here just like us," Jaden answered evenly.

"He's a Slacker, and this is Obelisk Blue territory, no Slifers allowed," the spiky haired boy next to him continued. "Hey, wait a minute," the boy stopped, looking Jaden up and down. "you're the guy from the entrance exams, the one who beat Crowler on his first turn."

"Hey Chazz, the guy who beat Crowler's here," The glasses wearing boy called out, looking to his right.

"His name is, 'Chuzz'," Jaden asked, looking at the boy with glasses questioningly.

"It's Chazz Princeton, top of his class at Duel Prep, and you better make sure to show the proper respect, you hear?" He replied, indignantly.

"Yeah, he's gonna be the King of Games, the top duelist of all time," The spiky haired boy continued ranting.

Jaden made a look, "That's impossible, the job's already taken," He countered with a smirk.

"Oh yeah, and by who?" Glasses growled, glaring at Jaden.

"Me," Jaden replied simply.

"No, he's right, boys," Chazz interrupted, looking down at Jaden with a crooked grin. "I mean, he did defeat Crowler after all, that's gotta count for something, right?" He asked, his two friends looking at him strangely. "Then again," He scoffed. "It could've just been a fluke."

"A fluke? You want to test that theory of yours, or are you scared I might thrash you," Jaden shot back, his voice portraying his confidence.

Chazz's grin grew, "Heh, I like that confidence of yours, let's get this start-"

"If this isn't a motley crew," A voice interrupted from behind the small group. When they turned around, they saw a dishwater blonde standing there, her arms folded across her chest. Jaden stared at the girl who had caught his eye back in Domino, he just couldn't place the face to a name.

"Alexis, did you come to see me mop the floor with this wannabe?" Chazz asked, staring at the girl with a hint of lust in his black eyes.

"No, I came to tell you not to be late for your welcoming dinner," Alexis said back, glaring at the raven haired boy.

"Oh, right, let's get out of here boys," Chazz called to his two lackeys, "Don't think you're off the hook for this," He called back, looking over his shoulder at Jaden.

"Sorry about him, he thinks he owns the place," Alexis said, glaring after Chazz.

"Don't worry about it," Jaden said, surprising Alexis slightly. "Guys like that are all bark, no bite; it'll take a lot more than him to get to me," He continued, smiling at Alexis.

"Right, well, you better not be late for the dinner either; and, Slifer's dinner should be starting, soon," She said first looking at Jaden, then at Syrus.

"Right," Jaden nodded, beginning to walk off, Syrus running after him. Half way down the hallway, he stopped and looked back at Alexis, "The name's Jaden, by the way," He called, offering the girl a friendly smile.

He again surprised Alexis, most Obelisk hadn't been as friendly or kind as Jaden had. "Alexis Rhodes," she called back, smiling at the boy.

"Nice to meet you, Alexis," Jaden called walking off.

"Hey, aren't you gonna introduce me," Syrus called after Jaden.

Alexis watched them leave, "Jaden," she said to herself, a smile still on her lips.

LDX/LDX\LDX

It had been hours since the little spat in the arena, and all the dorms were well into their welcoming dinners. Syrus, was off complaining with the rest of Slifer about their headmaster being a cat. Austin, was laughing it up with the new and old Ra Yellows, checking his watch as if waiting for something, every couple minutes, or so. Melanie and Jaden, were currently sitting in the Obelisk Boy's Dorm, bored out of their skulls as the others danced around.

"Is this seriously what they call fun?" Jaden whined, his head propped on the fold of his arms.

"You know, maybe if you'd accept one of the offers to dance, you wouldn't be so bored," Melanie teased, though she'd done a fair amount of denying herself.

"Look who's talkin'," He shot back, still keeping a tally for every boy who walked away from the table teary eyed. Jaden lifted his head from the table, looking around the room. He hadn't seen the arrogant trio from earlier anywhere, and he was beginning to get the feeling that they were up to something.

He was brought away from his musings when the holstered PDA on his belt began to ring. When he flipped it open, he saw exactly what his paranoia made him think he would. "Hey chump, don't think that I'm letting you off the hook for earlier; but, don't worry that little Slifer pal of yours is first. When I'm done with that runt, why don't you come down to the Duel Arena. Oh, and the winner will be walking away with the loser's best card. See you then, chump."

Jaden narrowed his eyes, he couldn't stand people who bullied others, and he was going to be sure to teach this spoiled brat a lesson, or two. He abruptly stood, making Melanie look at him, she noticed the scowl on his face and decided it be best to follow him. "This should be interesting," She mumbled, the last time she'd seen that look in the brunette's eyes, interesting was an understatement .

LDX/LDX\LDX

"Hm, I was wondering when you'd show up," Zane Truesdale said, his face neutral as he looked at the sandy haired brunette walking up to him. He'd been waiting for the Kaiba for their annual duel, at the lighthouse for some time now. Both agreeing a year ago that they'd meet at this spot until both graduated, to test the other's skills.

"Come on Zane, since when have I ever turned down a chance to duel?" Austin Kaiba asked, he and Zane both standing in front of the lighthouse.

Zane chuckled softly, "So, are we going to talk all night, or are we going to start?" He asked.

"I guess you want to get us started?" Austin asked, activating the duel disk hanging on his arm.

"I believe I had first move last time, that means it's your move, Kaiba," Zane called, activating his own duel disk and drawing his hand.

"Then let's get it going!" Austin cheered, drawing his first card of the duel.

-Start-

Austin: 4000

Zane: 4000

"Alright, first thing first, I'll summon out my Kaiser Seahorse (Atk: 1700/ Def: 1650) and then I'll set two face-downs, your move Kaiser," Austin smirked at his little joke, crossing his arms.

Zane wordlessly drew his card, then added it to his hand. "Since there's a monster on your field, I can summon my Cyber Dragon without a sacrifice," Zane declared, the metal dragon appearing behind him. "Next, I'll have him destroy your seahorse with Strident Blast!" The third year commanded.

"Sorry, but I activate my Threatening Roar trap card to stop the battle phase," Austin declared, one of his two face-downs flipping open. Zane smirked slightly, wordlessly ending his turn with a facedown. "Alright," Austin began, drawing his card. "I'll start by activating my White Dragon Ritual, but I won't be using my Seahorse, because I also activate my Soul Exchange to send your Cyber Dragon as the tribute!" He said, the metal snake disappearing from Zane's field, and a Paladin mounted on a Dragon appearing on Austin's field. "I think you'll remember his effect, because with my paladin out, I sacrifice him to special summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my deck!" He smirked as one of the three aces of his deck appeared on the field.

"Not bad, using my ace as a stepping stone to bring out yours," Zane complimented, his stoic disposition remaining the same.

"Oh, but why stop there?" Austin asked with a smirk. "Because, I'm sacrificing my Kaiser Seahorse to bring out a second, Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" The Kaiba roared, the second of his dragon appearing on the field. "Now, since I can only attack with my second Blue-Eyes due to my Paladin's effect, I'll have him attack you directly. Blue-Eyes, White Lighting attack!" Austin ordered, his dragon unleashing a immense burst of energy from its mouth, and lowering Zane's life points, the third year not even flinching at the attack.

Austin: 4000

Zane: 1000

"Your turn," Austin said, placing the last card in his hand into the Magic/Trap card zone.

"I'll start by activating my face-down, Call of the Haunted, returning my Cyber Dragon to the field," Zane said after drawing one card and placing it in his hand. "Next, I'll activate my Different Dimension Capsule, and place one card from my deck within," He said, a sarcophagus emerging from the ground and disappearing back into the ground after a card was placed within. "Then, I'll set two cards and activate, Card of Sanctity, allowing us to both draw until we have a full hand," He said, both drawing until they each held six cards.

"Now, I activate, Future Fusion, allowing me to fuse two of the Cyber Dragon in my deck, with the three Proto-Cyber in my deck to create, The Chimeratech Overdragon!" Zane roared, a machine dragon with six heads appearing on his side of the field. "Now, his attack is determined by the number of monster I used in his fusion, multiplied by 800!" He explained before Austin could ask about the question marks.

(Chimeratech Overdragon Atk: 4000 Def: 4000)

"That's new," Austin said, feeling a slight amount of worry as he looked up at the machine dragon.

"Don't get worried just yet, I won't be able to use him until next turn because of Future Fusion," Zane said, letting the Kaiba breathe a sigh of relief. "Your move, Kaiba."

Austin drew his card, "And, thanks to your Card of Sanctity, I can make it count. I'll start by activating Polymerization, fusing the two Blue-Eyes on my field with the third in my hand, forming the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" The Kaiba roared, the true ace of his deck appearing on the field. "Next, I'll set one card and then, my Ultimate Dragon will attack your Overdragon!" Austin ordered, the three-headed dragon beginning to charge a mighty burst in all three of its maw.

"Sorry, but I activate my Final Fusion to add the combined attack of both our monsters and end this duel in a draw," Zane said with a smirk, though he only faltered slightly when he noticed the smirk on Austin's face.

"You did that last time Zane, and this time, I'm prepared; I activate Fusion Stalemate, with this trap I can counter the damage of Final Fusion, by adding the combined attack of both our Fusions to our Life points," Austin smirked, noticing the widening of Zane's eyes, however small it may have been.

Austin: 4000

Zane: 1000

"Not bad, Kaiba," Zane complimented, a small smirk coming to his face.

"Thanks," Austin smiled. "Now, before I end my turn, I'll send two monsters with 'Blue-Eyes' or 'Blue-Eyed' in their name to the grave, to special summon a card special to my deck," Austin said, discarding his Blue-Eyes Wyvern and Blue-Eyed Maiden from his hand. "Knight of the White Dragon, emerge!" He roared, a man wearing a set of white armor, with pale blue runes appearing on the field; a deep blue cape billowing behind him.

(Knight of the White Dragon/Atk: 2400/Def: 0000/Type: Draconic- Warrior/Att: Light / Effect: This monster cannot be normal summoned or set, this card must be special summoned by removing two monsters from your hand to the graveyard with "Blue-Eyes" or "Blue-Eyed" in its name. This monster gains 600 attack for every Dragon in your graveyard and on the field.)

"See, the cool thing about my Knight, is that he gains 600 attack points, for every dragon on the field and in my graveyard," Austin explained, a smirk coming to his face.

(KotWD/ Atk: 24005400)

"Too bad you've already finished your battle-phase," Zane said, looking at the mighty Knight with a sense of respect.

"Yeah, but, it still doesn't change the fact that your next turn, will be your last," Austin smirked, placing the last card in his hand in the Spell/Trap card zone. "I end."

"Looks like this comes down to the final draw," Zane said, his fingers laying on top of his deck, prepared to draw. "How many times has this happened in our duels over the years," He asked, a small smirk on his face.

"More than I can count," Austin smiled back, slightly sweating his opponent's next draw.

Zane drew, looking at the card, he lowered his head slightly as he placed the card in his hand. "I suppose that luck wasn't behind me on this one," He smiled, half-heartedly. "I end."

"Don't worry, this rivalry is far from over; we're just evening the score tonight," Austin said drawing his card and not even looking at it. "Knight of the White Dragon, end this duel with, Fabled Lightning Strike!" Austin ordered, his knight charging forward as it unsheathed a blade that seemed to pulsate with electricity. It slashed upwards, cutting the three heads on the left side of the body off, and causing the machine to burst into light particles.

-Final-

Austin: 4000 (Winner)

Zane: 0000 (Loser)

"I guess we're even now, two, to two" Zane said with a smirk as he deactivated his duel disk making the holograms disappear.

"Don't get too comfortable, I'll be taking the lead next time," Austin smirked, feeling more than a little excited by his win. Austin outstretched his hand, offering his third year rival a handshake. "Can't wait for the next one," He smiled.

"You and me both," Zane said, grasping his friend/rival's hand. "But, it'll be me taking the lead in our next duel," He smirked only slightly.

Austin was about to retort, but was stopped as the PDA in his pocket began to vibrate. He released Zane's hand and dug the device out, when he looked at the screen; he was perplexed when he saw Melanie's face on the other end. "Hey Tiger, thought I should let you know Jaden's gone halfcocked on us, again. We're on the way to the Obelisk Blue Arena, I'd hurry if you plan on seeing this one," She said, smirking at the last bit.

"Tiger?" Zane teased, earning a light pink blush from the second heir of KC.

"Shut it, Zaney-poo," Austin shot back, laughing as the ever stoic Kaiser actually sputtered.

"Fair enough, let's get there," Zane finally spoke after composing himself.

LDX/LDX\LDX

Jaden narrowed his eyes as he walked into the Obelisk Arena, the first thing he saw being Syrus kneeling down with his head hung low. He then glared over towards Chazz Princeton, who was staring smugly at the defeated Slifer as he held a card between his fingers. "Now that I took your best card, I'll put that fluke of an Obelisk in his place and add his best card to my deck as well," Chazz sneered, smiling cruelly at the defeated Syrus.

"Y'know, I could easily just call up Sheppard, and tell him about your afterhours dueling," The brunette cut in, earning Chazz's scowl as he walked into the arena. "But, I think I'd rather be the one to beat some humility into that ego of yours, Princeton," He smirked that same smirk from the entrance exams.

"Sorry to cut in, but I'd like to make the terms for this duel," A cold and calculated voice broke-in, making Jaden sigh in irritation and Chazz stare in shock.

"I can handle this, Seto," Jaden said staring evenly at the screen above the field.

"I don't doubt that, but this will not be an unsanctioned match, this will be Chazz Princeton's punishment for after hours dueling, bullying, and dueling for an ante-card," Seto Kaiba said, glaring towards the raven haired boy. "This will not be for the others best card, and you will return the card you won from the Slifer," Seto demanded, glaring at the boy. "This match will be for rank, Chazz if you win, you stay in Obelisk and this incident will be forgotten. However, if Jaden is victorious, you will be demoted straight to Slifer and be given two months of detention," He said earning a glare from Chazz.

"That's not fair, I belong in Obelisk not Slifer," He yelled, earning a bone chilling glare from the CEO.

"Another outburst like that, and I'll expel you on the spot Princeton," Seto warned, successfully shutting the boy up.

"Now, both DAS and Sheppard have been made aware of this arrangement, security has been instructed not to interfere with this duel until there is a winner," He informed, earning a nod from both Jaden and Chazz. "Jaden, you've been cleared to not hold back if you so choose," He told the brunette only to earn a shake of the head.

"No, I'm not gonna use those until I have no other choice," Jaden said with a smirk.

"Very well, you may begin when ready," Seto nodded, gaining a calculating scowl as he watched both boys prepare, Syrus having cleared the field.

-Start-

Jaden: 8000

Chazz: 8000

"E-Eight thousand, Seto what is this?" Jaden asked, looking at the life point counter.

Seto smirked cruelly, "This is punishment Jaden, I want him to last long enough to learn his lesson," He answered, causing the brunette to shake his head in disapproval.

"I suppose there's no choice then," Jaden sighed, looking across the field at Chazz with determination in his brown eyes. "Get your game on, Chazz!" He roared activating his custom duel disk.

"This'll be over soon," Chazz sneered activating his own duel disk. "I'll start things," He continued by drawing his sixth card. "I'm sending out Reborn Zombie in defense mode," He called, a zombie with long white hair appearing in a defensive position. "And, I'll end, with a face down," He smirked.

"My draw," Jaden announced, taking a card from the top of his deck. "And, I'll start it off by activating Foolish Burial and Mystical Space Typhoon, allowing me to send Elemental HERO Bladedge from my deck to the graveyard, and destroy your face down," He said, taking the card from his deck and slotting it into the grave, Chazz glaring at the destruction of his Chthonian Polymer. "Now, before you ask why I'd do such a thing, allow me to introduce you to Elemental HERO Sparkman," He announced, a man wearing a blue jumpsuit and a golden chest plate appeared in a volt of electric energy.

"Still not seeing the point," Chazz huffed impatiently, a scowl on his face as he crossed his arms.

"It's because I activate the spell, Miracle Fusion, which allows me to fuse the Sparkman on the field to the Bladedge in my graveyard; summoning my Elemental HERO Plasma Vice!" He shouted, a larger and more armored version of Elemental HERO Sparkman coming to the field.

"Only his first turn, and he's dancing a circle around Chazz," Syrus awed, looking at Jaden with even more respect .

"Chazz needs to step his game up if he plans to stay in this duel, otherwise, Jaden will just run through him on the next turn," Melanie added, looking at her PDA to see if Austin had sent a reply.

"Plasma Vice, take his Reborn Zombie out," Jaden ordered, the large hero charging a lightning attack before blasting it at the smaller zombie.

Jaden: 8000

Chazz: 7000

"Why did Chazz's life points go down, his zombie was in defense mode," Syrus stated, looking at Mel confusedly.

"If I remember correctly, Plasma Vice has the same penetrating effect that Bladedge does; meaning, that Chazz will still take damage so long as Plasma can attack," She stated, watching the duel with growing interest.

"Nice memory, Mel," Jaden said with a smirk, only taking his eyes from the field for a second. "Well, I've got two cards left in my hand, so I guess I'll throw them down and end my turn," He said, a card appearing on the field as he ended his turn.

"You chump," Chazz growled, drawing a card from his deck. "I activate Pot of Greed," He announced, holding the blue-green card out before drawing his two cards. "Now, I'll summon X Head Cannon and activate the spell, Frontline Base!" He roared, a purple and yellow machine appearing with two cannons on its shoulders. "Now, thanks to Frontline Base's effect, I can summon Z- Metal Tank to the field," He added, summoning a yellow tank with a singular eyeball on the front.

"Not bad, question is if he can get the third out and make a way out of this turn," Jaden thought with a smirk as he watched Chazz's grin grow.

"Now, I'm going to set two cards, and activate Card of Sanctity, allowing us both to draw till we have full hands," Chazz smirked as they both drew six cards each. "I may have given you a hand, but this also lets me continue the fun," He smirked cruelly.

"Go ahead, I'm looking forward to seeing what you can pull out," Jaden said, looking at the Princeton with a smirk.

Chazz growled slightly at Jaden's laid back attitude, but vowed to wipe that grin off his face. "Alright tough guy, I'll activate Quick Summon so I can summon the last piece of the puzzle, Y- Dragon Head!" He roared, only causing Jaden's smirk to grow.

"He's got all three, this isn't looking good," Syrus awed, looking at Chazz with a smidge of fear.

"Don't get worried just yet," A new voice called out from behind the pair of Melanie and Syrus. "Jaden's had to fight through tougher than some grudge match," Austin Kaiba said, looking at the match with a underlying interest, Zane standing behind him. "Though, I am a little impressed that Chazz is holding his own," He added, throwing Melanie a wink for reasons only known to himself.

Seto nodded towards his son, but didn't say anything, not wanting to interrupt the duel. "Well, I'd hope he could hold up against Jaden, he's supposed to be top of the class from Duel Prep," Melanie added, smiling slightly from Austin's wink.

"Now, I'm going to banish all three of them to summon out, XYZ- Dragon Cannon!" Chazz roared, bringing focus back to the raging duel as his three monsters became one.

"And, I'll activate Neutral Ground," Jaden interrupted, his trap card flipping open. "This trap makes it so that until the end of my next turn, neither of us can wage an attack," He informed, letting another smirk come to his face.

"Hiding? is that all you can come up with, Yuki?" Chazz mocked, though not earning the reaction he wanted from his fellow Obelisk. "You won't stop me from destroying your HERO though, because I'll discard one card from my hand to destroy him, thanks to Dragon Cannon's effect," He smirked widely as he ended his turn.

Jaden growled lowly as he drew his card. " I'll summon Elemental HERO Voltic to the field, and equip him with Voltic Spear," He called, a warrior similar to Sparkman appearing on the field, the mentioned spear in his hands. "See usually the spear would only give a warrior type, a three hundred point power boost. But, since Voltic is the wielder, he gets a one thousand point power boost," Jaden smirked as his monster's points doubled.

"That's still not enough, Yuki," Chazz mocked, his own smirk on his face.

"We'll see about that," He countered, setting two face downs on the field and ending his turn.

"Hm, Dragon Cannon, make that HERO a zero," Chazz ordered, after drawing his card.

"I activate Swamp of the Fallen, this handy little trap halves the attack of one of your attacking monsters; and, since you've only got one, my choice is pretty obvious," Jaden smirked as Chazz's face fell.

(XYZ-Dragon Cannon Atk: 28001400)

"Impressive, even if Chazz made a big mistake by not using XYZ's effect to clear your field," a new female voice spoke from behind the growing group on the sideline. Though when they looked back, they were surprised to find Alexis Rhodes sitting in the stands, as though she'd been there since the start. "They've gone back and forth the entire time, neither side willing to relent," She appraised, looking oddly at the focused Jaden.

Jaden: 8000

Chazz: 6400

"Thanks to Voltic dealing damage to you, I can return one monster from out of play to the field, and who better then Elemental HERO Bladedge!" Jaden roared, the golden armored hero appearing from a bright light.

"I end," Chazz growled, setting another facedown.

"My go!" Jaden called, drawing another card from his deck. "I activate Fusion Birth!" He thundered, confused looks coming from all but, the two Kaibas and Melanie.

"Fusion Birth? I've never heard of that card," Alexis said, now standing next to Melanie.

"It's a fusion card that allows Jaden to discard the top five cards from his deck, and if any of them are monsters, he can summon one fusion monster with that monster in its material section," Melanie informed, surprised Jaden was showing so much of his deck in this duel.

"Well, I guess Mel ruined the surprise for you, so let's see what I can get," Jaden said, drawing and looking at the five cards he'd be discarding. "Looks like luck isn't on your side today, Chazz," Jaden smirked, slotting the five cards into the graveyard.

"Why do you say that?" Chazz asked, but found his answer when a large white HERO with blue and red gems in its body appeared.

"Because, I was just able to discard Elemental HERO Ocean and Woodsman, creating one of the strongest Elemental HERO to date, Elemental HERO Terra Firma!" Jaden roared, introducing his tower of a HERO.

(Elemental HERO Terra Firma Atk: 2500 Def: 2000)

"He doesn't look so tough," Chazz spat, looking at the HERO with a role of his eyes.

"See, that's the cool thing about effects though," Jaden started, his usual smirk growing. "They can take a monster that doesn't look so tough, and make him capable of standing against a God card," He continued, earning a shocked look from the people who didn't know him before today.

"For once, can you not bring that duel up in my presence," Seto interrupted, glaring at the two-toned brunette.

"What's go him so peeved," Syrus asked, gulping audibly.

"Ah, the old man's just sore that Jaden took Yugi and his reproductions of the three Gods on, and held his own," Austin sighed, shaking his head at his dad's antics.

"Hey, who are you calling old!?" His father glared, earning a hearty laugh from Austin and a giggle from Melanie.

"Di-did he beat him, I mean Yugi and the god cards, did he beat them?" Zane asked, his curiosity piqued.

"No, that duel was an eye opener for him though," Austin said, remembering how thick headed and sure of themselves he and Jaden, both used to be. "That duel opened his eyes to the fact that no matter how strong you are, there will always be something stronger out there. And, thanks to his eye opening he gave me mine; which, is exactly what he's trying to do to Chazz here," He said, eyes still on the duel.

"What do you mean, opened his eyes?" Alexis asked, her hazel eyes still looking at the confident stature of Jaden.

"You'll have to wait for him to explain that one, not my place to say, Princess," Austin said, a smirk coming to his face when Alexis glared at him.

"Anyway," Jaden said, rolling his eyes as he brought attention back to the duel. "His effect is simple, I can sacrifice one other HERO on my field, and add it's attack power to Terra Firma," He smirked as his Bladedge disappeared, and Terra Firma got a major power boost.

(Elemental HERO Terra Firma Atk: 2500 5100)

"N-n-no way," The brown haired lackey sputtered, looking at the attack point gauge for Terra.

"Fif-fifty one hundred attack points," The teal haired boy choked out, shock clear on both their faces.

"Sorry, Yuki, but I'm activating Threatening Roar, so you can't start your Battle Phase and go straight to your Main Phase 2," Chazz informed, a smirk on his face.

"Not bad Princeton, I'll end this turn with two face down," Jaden finished, slotting a pair of cards.

(Elemental HERO Terra Firma Atk: 51002500)

"My draw," Chazz thundered, a look of satisfaction coming to his eyes as he looked at his card. "I'll admit, I didn't think I'd be able to beat you, but with this card I'll win this duel and take my place as the strongest Obelisk," Chazz crooned, holding his drawn card over his head.

"The duel isn't over until the last card is played, and it's not won by one card alone, Chazz," Jaden recited, his confident look growing serious.

"Whatever," Chazz waved him off. "I summon Chthonian Soldier, but he won't be around long, because I activate Double Summon and Cost Down!" He roared, laughing like a madman as the two cards appeared on the field. "Now, I sacrifice my Chthonian Soldier, and call forth the legendary, Light and Darkness Dragon!" He thundered, a dragon both black and white appearing behind him in defense mode.

(Light and Darkness Dragon Atk: 2800 Def: 2400)

"Go, Grave Robber!" Jaden called, but he was surprised when the card just turned to light particles and Chazz's Dragon's attack and defense fell. "What?" the Legacy duelist asked, shock clear on his face.

(Light and Darkness Dragon Atk: 28002300 Def: 24001900)

"That's my dragon's effect, it cancels the activation of spells, traps and monster effects at the cost of its own points," Chazz smirked, knowing Jaden wouldn't expect what the real purpose of his dragon was. "I'll activate my Graceful Charity, allowing me to draw three and discard two cards," He said, a smirk coming to his face as he saw what he drew and was able to discard. "And, to finish up, I'll set two cards and turn it over to you," He said, his smirk never falling.

Jaden drew his card, and a small smirk came to his face. "Alright, to start my turn, I'll destroy that dragon of yours with Terra Firma!" He said, his HERO attacking the dragon like ordered.

"Why thank you," Chazz smirked, his XYZ Dragon Cannon coming back to the field.

"What?" Jaden asked, confusion clear on his face, not having expected this to happen.

"It's my dragon's second effect, when he's destroyed I can special summon one monster from my graveyard, free of charge," Chazz answered, that cruel smirk still on his face.

"Well, since your dragon's gone, I'm activating my Call of the Haunted to bring back E-HERO Plasma Vice!" He called, the trap flipping up as his HERO returned to the field next to Terra Firma.

"It won't make a difference, he doesn't have enough to beat XYZ!" Chazz laughed, not seeing the smirk on Jaden's face.

"That's where you're wrong Chazz, because Plasma has his own second effect!" He said, ending Chazz's laughter. "One that lets me discard one card from my hand, and destroy one attack position monster on your field! With only one monster on your field, my target is obvious, Plasma Vice, take that Cannon down!" Jaden ordered, discarding the required card as Plasma charge a huge ball of electricity that he sent flying at the machine. "And, that leaves you wide open for an attack from Voltic and Plasma Vice!" He called sending his two monsters charging in.

"Wrong, because I activate my two face downs, Negate Attack and my own copy of Call of the Haunted! Returning my XYZ-Dragon Cannon to the field and stopping your attack!" Chazz countered, making Jaden smirk.

"Nice move, you're better than I thought you'd be," Jaden praised, looking at the one card in his hand as Chazz growled lowly at him. "I'll activate the spell card, Duel, allowing us both to draw until we have six cards in our hand!" He said, drawing a complete new hand. "Now, I'll activate the card I've had facedown since my second turn, Mischief of the Time Goddess!" He smirked, enjoying the look of shock not only on Chazz's face, but on Seto Kabia's as well. "With this spell, I skip your turn and come back to my next draw phase," He explained, drawing a new card.

"Y-You've had this planned from the beginning?" Chazz asked, the shock plain on his face.

"Not exactly, but I have been prepared for this outcome," He answered, holding up a single card so that Chazz could see it. "With this card, I'll be activating Plasma Vice's effect one more time, destroying your XYZ for the last time!" He said, as Plasma once again cleared Chazz's field, leaving the Princeton wide open. "And now, my three heroes will end this duel!" He called, as all three HERO monsters charged an attack and depleted Chazz's life points.

Jaden: 8000 (Winner)

Chazz: 0000

After the duel was over and the monsters disappeared from the field, Jaden walked to the center of the field. "You duel like a champion Chazz, but you need to learn that nothing is predetermined," He said, causing Chazz to look at him oddly. "This duel, wasn't decided until your life point meter hit zero, until the final card was played," He announced, the cocky/confident smirk from earlier completely gone. "I look forward to our next duel, you've got what it takes to go far," Jaden smirked before turning and walking off the field.

"Who does he think he is, I know I have what it takes, and next time he won't be the one walking away unscathed; I will defeat you, Jaden Yuki," He thought, his face contorting into a visage of rage.

"Chazz Princeton, Terry Reed, and Blake Henderson, you three will report directly to the Slifer dorms for your room assignments and class changes, you have twenty minutes to gather your personal belongings and head to your new home, enjoy it," Seto smirked as the feed cut out, missing the yell of rage from Chazz.

"They seem happy," Alexis commented, a smirk on her face as she watched the defeated ex-Obelisk and his two lackeys mop by. "That was a really strong duel, Jaden," She smiled looking at the two-toned brunette.

"Thanks, it was nothing," Jaden replied, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly as he smiled goofily at the dishwater blonde.

"Nothing?!" Austin yelled, slinging his arm around Jaden's neck and giving him a noogie. "That snob almost had you on more than one turn, you've been slacking on your training haven't you; that 'Prince of Games' title going to your head, boss?" He teased as Jaden struggled to get out.

"Sorry about the new dorm mates, Sy, if you have any trouble with them let me know," Melanie smiled, punching her palm. Syrus laughed at the antics of the Legacy Duelist, thankful he'd made friends with them.

"I wonder how I'd mark up to this freshmen, he's got skill far surpassing his years," Zane thought, his stoic mask on as he looked at Jaden.

"Alright, I think it's time we head back to the dorms, Kaiba may have given us permission to be here, but not to stay out all night," Zane said, turning away from the group and beginning to walk back.

"Care to walk me back, Mr. Kaiba?" Melanie asked, smiling sweetly at her childhood friend.

"Sure thing, you coming boss?" Austin asked, looking back at the two-toned brunette.

"Nah, I'm gonna check a few things before I head back, I'll send you a message to let you know I got back okay," Jaden waved them off, smiling disarmingly at his oldest friends.

"Right, call me if you run into any problems," Austin said, before Mel hooked his arm and began to drag him off.

"Night Champ," She called over her shoulder, before dragging the Kaiba out of the room.

"Thanks for standing up for me, Jay," Syrus smiled, before running off.

"So, where you off to?" Alexis asked, seemingly not ready to head back.

"I have trouble sleeping in new surroundings, so I figured I'd walk some of the island, get a feel for the place," He answered, giving her half the truth.

"Would you mind if I tagged along?" She asked, raising a trimmed eyebrow at the boy.

"Why not," He answered, smiling a charming smile at the girl.

"The docks?" Alexis asked, looking at Jaden confused. "Why'd you want to come here?"

"I wanted to say something to someone," He answered, offering the blonde a small smile. He snapped his head to the left when he heard the engine of a boat start up. "HEY!" He called, getting the figure to turn and look at him in shock.

The figure turned back around and attempted to get the boat moving, "Chazz, I'm not trying to stop you!" He called out, making the figure stop in its fumbling.

"Why'd you follow me out here, Yuki," Chazz sneered, his charcoal black eyes glaring at the brunette and the blonde behind him.

"I wanted to make sure you'd be coming back at some point," Jaden answered, causing Chazz to look at him as if he was crazy.

"You just humiliated me, Yuki, I'd be ranked a Slifer the bottom of the food chain," Chazz said, rather spat.

"So, is that your way, when it gets tough you just run away and give up," Jaden asked, his voice sounding fierce. "You've got what it takes to become one of the best Chazz, I wasn't just blowing steam when I said that. If you want to get back at me, become stronger, apply what I said to you to your dueling and don't stop until you've beaten me," He said, his warm brown eyes narrowing at the raven haired boy. "That is what you want isn't it, to be the best? Then don't give up because someone is stronger than you, turn that pent up rage into your fuel and take the challenge to them," He finished, turning his back on the former Obelisk.

"If you're set on leaving, go to North Academy and become their top student, there'll be a duel in several months between this school and North," Jaden continued, looking over his shoulder at his latest rival. "I'll do what I have to, to meet you in that duel and you can have your second chance to take me down. But, if you don't either stay or go to North and become the best, don't expect a rematch anytime soon," He finished, beginning to walk off, Alexis following behind him, far beyond confused.

"Hey, Jaden," Chazz called, his eyes no longer full of hate, but determination. "I will come back, and I will beat you," He vowed, before turning around and starting his family yacht.

Jaden smiled at the promise, and began leading Alexis back to the girls dorm. "Okay, what was that back there?" Alexis asked as they reached roughly the midway point.

Jaden smiled at her, "That, was me making sure I didn't lose a strong opponent," He answered, turning and looking at the blonde. "Chazz may be a snob, and full of himself, at least in my opinion; but, he's a tough duelist and has what it takes to give me more than a run for my money," He answered, beginning to lead the way again.

"You really are something else, aren't you, Jaden?" Alexis thought looking at the boy, her hand over her chest.

"What Chazz is already leaving? His lackeys are in Slifer? And, I thought you said Austin and Melanie would take time to develop a relationship!" Yeah, yeah, I say a lot of things. But, come on you can't tell me y'all don't have that one friend you blatantly flirt with!

Okay, I'd like to apologize for the long wait on this update, I've been busy with work and class and welding and personal stuff (Girlfriends are major headaches, just saying, still love her though). Now that, that's out of the way, what did you think? Did y'all enjoy the duels and what'd you think about Chazz leaving so soon? Let me know in your reviews, and before anyone says it; yes, I know Jaden and Austin are both over powered, it's to be expected look at who they are connected with. I also hope you liked the cameo, but enough of my rambling leave me a review, much love guys!

A/N: {2/15/2014} I would like to thank those who have already reviewed, while I request that more review. Yes, it is a very tedious hassle, but necessary. If the story isn't reviewed then I do not know what to improve on and what to keep the same. In other words, the more reviews the better the next chapter (might even be longer than this monster). Please let me know what you think, and be sure to follow me for the next update.

A/N: (1/10/2015) Rewrote some more of the duel between Chazz and Jaden, feeling that I could've done better with it. Which I like to think I did. But, I also wanted to explain some of my reasoning behind these two duels and the outcomes of the chapter. I made Zane lose in the match between him and Austin to try and convene the fact that in this series, he may be the strongest duelist on the island, but he's not undefeated.

Chazz left the island, because I couldn't have pictured him hanging around with those two idiot friends of his while in Slifer. Which, would've made his other duels with Jaden pointless and harder to piece together. But, don't worry, those duels will still happen just with different people facing Jaden. Plus, him going to North Academy so soon, will allow me to introduce a..teehee.. love interest for him much sooner than I'd planned. I hope you all re-read the chapter to see the differences and I hope you all stay tuned for the upcoming chapter 3 (Yes, it is on the way).
