Chapter-3

Shuffle...

That noise again!

The Old Doctor dragged the door open again, looking around once again.

"It's nothing, it's just a wolf."

The Doctor spun around, surprised to see a girl. A girl, just casually dressed in rags, sitting on the-

"Don't be sitting on there!" The Doctor shouted.

"Why not?" The girl even had the nerve to smirk.

"Because it's not a chair!" The Doctor all but flung her out of the old barn. "It's the most dangerous weapon in the universe!"

Clipping the wooden lock back into place, The Doctor turned back to the Moment.

"Why can't it be both"

The Doctor almost fell when he turned around. Surprised once again.

"Why'd you park so far away?" She said. She tilted her to the side and said cheekily, "Didn't want her to see it?"

The Doctor frowned, "Want who to see?"

"The Taardis" She whispered and stood up, strutting in an exaggerated fashion up to him, "You walked for miles, and miles and miles and miles-"

"I was thinking-"

"I heard you." She said mysteriously.

"You heard me?"

"No more, no more" she said. She spoke in a low and fat voice, almost raspy as she went lower.

"Stop it!"

"No more." She twittered one last time.

"Who are you?" The Doctor narrowed his eyes, this girl, she seemed to know everything about him, even seemed to be able to hear his thoughts.

They stared at each other, both with challenge in their gaze, until a quiet clicking interrupted.

"It's activating, get out of here" The Doctor pushed past her and crouched next to the moment.

The girl rolled her eyes, eyes that now flashed gold as she sped up the particles on the surface of the moment.

"Ah!"

"What's wrong?" She asked slyly as she plopped herself down onto a tarp covered box.

"The interface is hot." The Doctor mumbled, still fiddling with the Moment, trying to get it to work.

"Well I do my best." She murmured, smiling widely as she observed The Doctor.

The Doctor peered around onto the other side of the Moment, "There's a power source inside."

Then he paused.

And slowly looks back up to the girl.

"You're the interface?"

"Well they must have told you the Moment had a conscience" She said, raising her hand and wiggling her fingers "Hello!"

The Doctor looked back at the Moment, not knowing what to say.

"Oh, look at you, stuck between a girl and a box. Story of your life, right doctor." The girl said.

"Do you know me?" The Doctor asked.

"I hear you, all of you. Jangling around in that dusty head of yours. I chose this face and form especially for you." She said gesturing at herself. "It's from your past...Or possibly from your future, I always get those two mixed up."

"I don't have a future" The Doctor said quietly.

"You haven't got a-" She stopped. "Rose Tyler. No, yes, no, in this form I'm called...Bad Wolf."

In that moment, time seemed to just hold still. The only thing that still functioned was the girls eyes, which had begun to glow blindingly bright.

Where am I?

What happened?

Rose looked around, somehow knowing that she wasn't on the right plane of reality anymore. She saw The Doctor crouched next to the Moment, wait, the Moment was just in the vault- I was just in the vault.

No, I fused with myself didn't I, I had to rush the merge though, must have lost track of time when I was recharging.

Then suddenly the memories slammed back into me, I remembered the many millennia of guarding the Moment, watching as power hungry mortals sought the power of the galaxy eater and judging them and providing suitable punishment. Rose smirked, the punishments were always amusing...

She shook her head and walked towards the Moment, lightly touching the gold plated corner.

But those memories aren't important, the strangest thing about the merge was the mindset I had had before the mortal Rose had taken in the vortex, in linear time relative to time itself, obviously. This Rose, or Wolf as she had gone by, was capable of retaining far more information than I do now, must be because it didn't have the bodily limitations of the human brain.

She turned to observe The Doctor, she'd never met this one in person before. He looked so young!

But the way she had organised her mind! No wonder she was acting slightly off the bend, all the information she needed was stored in neat and tidy metaphorical bubbles in her head, filed and labelled meticulously. It was so packed the other, not as important features like emotion and social skills were just stuffed wherever they could fit around the bubbles.

It's a wonder my mind was able to reformat it in just, umm two hours forty six minutes and fourteen seconds, fifteen earth time from when I merged. Reformatting was definitely a weird feeling, it was almost like sorting paperwork in the language of gibberish. I must have separated and organised it outside of my body, the two mindscapes are certainly not as alike as I had hoped.

The theory was that we should be the same person and therefore have the same basis and the merge would be smooth, sort of like everything just slots into place automatically. But the guard I placed must have taken on the characteristics of the Moment and became more technical.

She stood up again, stepping back into the frozen time stream and returning to where she had stood. She then took a few seconds to review what had happened just before she'd frozen time.

She laughed, ironic that Rose Tyler would be the one chosen to represent herself. And of course she would finish the moment she said Bad Wolf.

All these years and those words still followed her around.

She readied herself, and in a flash only she could see the world restarted.

Staring intensely at The Doctor, she asked.

"Are you afraid of the Big Bad Wolf, Doctor?"

AN: Hi, I realise it's been quite a while since I've updated this story, but once I had it up, I realised that I didn't really have a full idea of what I wanted the story to be like. I was too excited after the episode came out to show you guys what I had in mind. By the time I'd finished the second chapter I already had no idea what to write next.

So I'd just like to take the chance to apologise and say that I do believe that I have a nice plot inside my head now.

Again, sorry for the random hiatus.

Thank you to to all those who followed and favorited.

I also want to specially thank skidney and the guest for reviewing.
