Author's Note: First up I want to apologize for this taking so long to get out. I'm sorry, I just am not capable of writing as fast as others do, especially when I have multiple things going on. I was so psyched to get the next chapter of Slaying Intersected out, and then She'll Leave You With a Smile jumped out at me. This would have been out sooner than now, I actually finished this yesterday but Smeg's got one of those "real life" things with more commitments than I do so he only just recently finished the beta before wandering off to wherever it is he's going. Thanks again for all the reviews/favorites/follows, they mean the world, and not getting them on something I'm extremely proud of makes me a sad panda. Hopefully chapter 4 won't take this long, but no promises. K, about the only other thing of consequence I can think of at the moment is that Courtney is intended to be Kaley Cuoco. On with it.

"Back so soon?" Aubrey asked when she heard the door open. Glancing up from the video of last year's Bellas' Regionals performance that she was watching, she didn't know what to make of the look of disappointment on Chloe's face. "What's wrong? What did the nasty Hobbit do to you?"

"After telling Tom we're done, I went to find her." Chloe explained, flopping down on her bed. "When I finally tracked her down, she was flirting with this girl in the computer lab."

"So? Isn't that what gay girls do? Flirt with other girls that like girls?" Aubrey asked, getting up from her chair and going over to sit on the edge of Chloe's bed, stroking the redhead's back when she heard the sobs. "You do it from time to time. You did it with me when we first met back in Ms. Webber's class."

"Are you saying…" Chloe trailed off, turning to lie on her side so she could look up at her friend. "Are you saying you do like girls?"

"I never said that." Aubrey pointed out. "But you thought so then, and you flirted with me like the little bisexual pixie you are. You were just so cute."

"That was ages ago." Chloe said as her mind drifted back.

"And how many girls have you flirted with since then?" Aubrey asked, not giving her time to answer since she knew she wouldn't be able to give an exact number. "Hell, you told me your first time was with Ellie Burton."

"She had such a huge crush on you." Chloe said "She was just…she was never the aggressor. And you intimidated her. But you were the reason she dated so many blonds."

"File that under things that will make our high school reunion awkward." Aubrey said. "My point is, you have to move on from that Halfling and find yourself a real girl."

"Why?" Chloe asked as if the concept was completely foreign to her.

"Because you're better than this Chlo." Aubrey said, reaching out and taking the redhead's hand in hers. "You are the best person I know and you deserve someone who wants to be with you. I don't want to see you hurt, I love you Chloe." The blond's words brought a smile to Chloe's face and she sat up and passionately kissed Aubrey. "Not like that Red." She added breathlessly when the kiss ended. She got up and went over to her purse and counted out five bills. "Here's two hundred and fifty dollars, you're going to go to Violet's, that lesbian bar you like, and find a cute girl. You're going to sing to her, and take her to a hotel room and screw the Ewok out of your system. I'm going on that date with Howie from Sigma tonight, I don't want to ruin it by having to think about you here being all sad about some girl who doesn't deserve you. Seriously, if we didn't need all the girls we can get, I wouldn't have taken her. Hell, I still don't know why I did."

"Because you love me." Chloe teased.

"You're so impossible sometimes." Aubrey said as she rolled her eyes.

"It's true and you know it." Chloe teased before wiping the tears off her cheeks and getting up off the bed to find an outfit for the night. "Plus, I'm cute, you said so yourself."

"And that has what to do with me tolerating Tyrion Lannister's illegitimate daughter?" Aubrey asked

"How long are you going to keep up the short jokes?" Chloe asked in a huff.

"Until they stop being funny." Aubrey answered as she planned for her own date.

The door to the hotel room sprang open, Chloe wasn't sure how exactly because she was fairly certain that both of her hands were busy trying to strip off the shirt that Courtney was wearing. Regardless, it was open and now she could go back to focusing on the feel of what Courtney's lips were doing to her neck, because she really wanted to pay attention to that. The blond girl walked backwards obediently as Chloe marched them into the room, her fingernails no doubt leaving marks on the other girl's skin as Courtney found that oh-so-sensitive spot just below her ear. Moaning her approval, Chloe received a growl in response, a very sultry, sexy growl, as her hands dig into the taller girl's hips.

Reluctantly pulling her hands away from the soft skin of Courtney's abdomen, Chloe ripped the blond's lips from her neck, before savagely capturing them with her own before the other girl can protest. Now fully in the room, Chloe broke the kiss, panting heavily, and gave Courtney a gentle shove backwards and onto the bed. Not really looking behind her, Chloe kicked the door closed and moved to stand over the edge of the bed, looking down hungrily at the girl below her. Watching how the blond girl's hazel eyes dilated with desire while her impressive chest heaved as she panted for breath, Chloe grabbed the hem of her own black, low cut top and pulled it off, dropping it to the floor casually as she said, "Now it's time for me to make you sing…."

~~~Three hours earlier~~~
As the cab made its way to its destination, a mixture of nervousness and anxiousness washed over Chloe. As good as it sounded when Aubrey suggested it, now Chloe found herself wondering if it was really what she wanted to do. She knew breaking things off with Tom had been the right thing to do, he was never much more than a fuck buddy. She certainly didn't see a future with him. Not that she was ready to start thinking big picture, there was still grad school ahead, but she knew he'd be heading off to who knows where after their graduation. Plus she didn't find him half as interesting as she did the tiny, dark haired DJ.
She chuckled when the song "Sour Girl" came on the cab's radio. She didn't know why, it just made her think of Beca. And that was why she had to do this. Aubrey was right as the blond so often thought she was, Chloe needed to get Beca out of her system. "You can do this Chloe Michelle Beale. You're looking great, the girls will be putty in your hands." It was the truth too, she was looking amazing, clad in a black shirt cut low enough to show just the right amount of cleavage, a red skirt with black leggings underneath it, and finished off with a pair of heeled, grey, knee high, suede boots. She was sure she'd turn a fair amount of heads.
Soon enough, the cab had stopped in front of Violet's. Paying the driver and giving him a decent tip, she got out and headed for the door. After showing her ID to the bouncer and paying her cover, she went in and looked around. She was in luck, there was a decent crowd, though the place was far from packed. And to top it off, it was karaoke night. As she headed for the bar, she couldn't help but wonder if Aubrey knew that when she sent her here. The other Bellas didn't know it yet, but Aubrey actually did her best to know about nearby karaoke nights. The woman on stage was singing "Another One Bites The Dust" and doing a semi decent job, but she was far from Bella material.
Heading through the crowd, Chloe smiled when she was proven right about how she looked, many of the girls were checking her out. When she got to the bar, she was relieved to notice an empty stool. "Is this seat taken?" she asked the woman in the seat next to it, sitting down when she shook her head no.
"Hey Red what can I get you?" The bartender asked, smiling sweetly at Chloe.
"I'll have a Jack and Coke please, no ice." Chloe ordered when she regained the power of speech after taking in the bartender. The girl was a cute blonde, about her age, wearing a pair of tight blue jeans and a black babydoll t-shirt with the Rolling Stones logo on it, a Union flag on its tongue. The shirt was cut short to expose a fair amount of midriff. Chloe knew instantly this was her girl.
"Coming right up." She said as she got mixing it.
"So, a Stones fan eh?" Chloe asked as she watched the blonde work.
"I dig 'em yeah." The blond confirmed as she handed the drink to the girl. "You?"
"I like some of their stuff yeah, my dad's big on them." Chloe answered. "He took me to see them in Hershey six years ago exactly for my 16th birthday."
"So today's your birthday?" The bartender asked.
"No, it was Tuesday." Chloe explained.
"Close enough, this one's on me." The bartender said. "So redheaded Pennsylvania girl have a name?"
"Maryland." Chloe said putting her drink down on the bar after taking a drink.
"Marilyn, that's pretty. I'm Courtney." The bartender introduced herself, causing Chloe to giggle.
"No, I'm FROM Maryland, my name's Chloe." She corrected.
"Hold that thought, I'll be right back." Courtney said as she got a drink for another woman at her section of the bar. Chloe couldn't help but stare at the blonde's ass as she walked away, earning a smirk when Courtney turned around and caught her looking. "Like what you see I take it?"
"I do." Chloe said, her cheeks red from embarrassment.
"Yeah these jeans paid for themselves in free drinks ages ago." Courtney said as the announcer called off the next name on the list for karaoke. Giving Chloe another look from behind the counter, Courtney nodded towards the stage as she said, "You going to go up there?"
"You want me to?" Chloe asked, giving the blonde her best sultry smile. "You don't even know if I can sing."
"C'mon, a voice like yours, I'm willing to bet you can sing." Courtney said, handing the book and a slip of paper to Chloe. "Sing something for me."
"Well if you insist…" Chloe said, flipping through the book, knowing exactly what song she wanted. Writing it down quickly when she saw they had it, she went to hand it to the announcer.
"What did you pick?" Courtney asked.
"You'll just have to wait and see." Chloe smiled sweetly as she finished her drink. The two continued to make small talk as names were called till Chloe heard what she was listening for.
"Up next we've got Marilyn, where is she?" The announcer asked, scanning the crowd till she saw Chloe make her way over. "Here ya go hun, have fun." She said as she handed over the mic as the music to "Let's Spend The Night Together" started playing. Chloe launched headfirst into the song, putting everything she had into it, directing her performance to the bar, directly at Courtney.
"That was so hot." Courtney said when Chloe returned to her seat. "Listen, I get done in about an hour, the girl who's supposed to be relieving me had to watch her niece longer than planned, and I can't leave Lucy and Mandy in the lurch." She added, nodding towards the other two bartenders. "When she gets here, what do you say we go some place and get to know each other better?"
"I like that plan." Chloe responded happily. The two continued to flirt as much as they could while Courtney took care of her customers. Soon enough though Courtney's replacement showed up and once the blond was settled up for the night, she joined Chloe on the other side of the bar.
"You ready to spend the night together?" Courtney teased as a new girl started singing Halestorm's "I Get Off"
"Yeah I …." Chloe started, freezing when she saw who was at the microphone. It was the girl Beca had been flirting with.
"What's wrong? She an ex?" Courtney asked, seeing the look of hatred on Chloe's face.
"No, I don't even know her." Chloe said. "It's a long story, let's get out of here, I know just the place." She added, taking Courtney's hand and making a beeline for the exit.
"It looks like some girl got very, very lucky last night." Aubrey teased when Chloe returned to their room the next morning. "You have a good time? Get the Oompa Loompa out of your system?"
"I did yeah." Chloe nodded as she sat on her bed, ignoring Aubrey's latest short joke as she pulled out her phone to bring up pictures she took the night before "Cute blonde, you'd like her."
"Topless, really Chlo?" Aubrey asked in a mock harsh tone as the redhead giggled. "Besides, blonds aren't really my type. But I'm glad you had a good time. Things went pretty good with Howie, it sounds like the mixer's going to be quite the event."
"He's a douche, a bigger douche than Tom." Chloe said taking her phone back.
"That's not very nice. Now go get ready, we have eight and a half girls to get ready for the mixer." Aubrey replied, handing Chloe her shower bag.
"They're still funny?" Chloe asked, playfully hitting Aubrey on the shoulder for her latest short joke as she got her things around to head for the shower.
To say the next week of practices went smoothly would be a lie, on pretty much every run through Aubrey found something that she had to correct. Chloe couldn't help but note there seemed to be something else going on with the blond, but she let it slide till she had more evidence. But time went by as it does, and the Bellas found themselves starting their first public performance of the year at the Sigma Beta Theta fall mixer.
"This makes my beer taste bad." Casey's older brother John said to Howie shortly after the Bellas had started "Turn the Beat Around".
"I'm gonna stop this." Howie said, making his way up to the girls "Whoa, whoa. Just stop. Stop."
"I am so sorry, Howie." Aubrey said to the boy, inwardly pleased that her plan was bearing fruit The past week she'd spent with him would soon be paying off. "I know we're not performance ready."
"I wanted the hot Bellas, not this barnyard explosion." Howie said "I'm not paying for this. Let's go. Come on."
"You know what Howie, enough!" Aubrey yelled, figuring she might as well start the bad public breakup that was all a part of her plan. "I've put up with enough shit from you this week, caring more about your own needs than mine. I'm not going to let you tear into my girls too."
"C'mon on Aubrey." Howie said "You can't be serious; these are nothing like last year's girls. I thought you and Chloe had better taste than this. Let's just enjoy the party, I'll take you out some place nice tomorrow night to make up for it."
"No, I'm done." Aubrey said "You're an asshole, I don't need you in my life when I've got so much to do this year. We're through, I'm sure you'll have no problem getting one of these other girls to let you treat them like shit." She added storming off as the Bellas started to scatter. It was all she could do to keep from smiling.
"So that was something." Casey said, stopping Beca before she could follow the other girls. "I'm sorry for what my brother said, he's such an asshole sometimes."
"Don't be." Beca replied "We were pretty bad, we're just starting to get the hang of it. Sorry I didn't reply to your last text, I had to rush out the door to get here."
"It's ok, thought it was something like that." Casey smiled. "I thought you were good though, and regardless of what Howie said, you're hot in that uniform."
"Thanks." Beca said, blushing from the compliment as she took in the floral print sundress Casey had on "You're looking pretty good yourself."
"You know what they say about flattery Beca." Casey replied with a wink.
"I do, but I'm betting I don't have to flatter you to get wherever I want." Beca teased.
"No, no you don't." Casey laughed. "I saw your redheaded friend, Chloe right?" she asked, receiving a nod of confirmation from Beca. "Yeah, I saw Chloe at Violet's, a local lesbian bar, last week. She picked up the cute blonde bartender. I hear, that's not easy to do."
"Really?" Beca asked, looking towards where she saw Chloe and Aubrey talking. "Well, Chloe does have a knack for making impossible stuff happen. Why do you think I joined the Bellas in the first place? A hot naked redhead invades your shower, it's hard to say no."
"That sounds like fun actually." Casey said. "Maybe sometime we can reenact it."
"Alright." Beca said, playfully raising an eyebrow as she smirked. "We better buy you some red hair dye then."
"So that's what's been wrong." Chloe said when she and Aubrey were alone. "I knew something seemed off with you all week."
"Yes, you were right." Aubrey nodded, tears in her eyes. At times like this she was glad the two of them had done plays in high school, it would make it easier for her to sell the performance she had to give. "He's a douche. He had been really nice to me, but then when I finally started going out with him…he showed his true colors."
"And why do you think I never date frat boys?" Chloe asked
"You date sorority girls though." Aubrey pointed out.
"I have sex with them, they're wild in bed. I don't date them, too high maintenance." Chloe clarified. "There's a big difference there."
"Well I really think I need to reconsider things." Aubrey said, wiping her eyes. "I haven't been able to stop thinking about our kiss all week. Whenever Howie kissed me….it was so hard and forceful. Nothing like yours."
"What are you saying Bree?" Chloe asked, not believing she's hearing what she's hearing.
"I'm saying…I'm saying I think I want to give us a chance." Aubrey said. She knew Beca apparently had the beginnings of something with Computer Girl, but she had no way of knowing how long that could last. She knew the only solution was to make sure Chloe was off the market, and who better to trust with the task than herself.
"Why now Bree?" Chloe asked skeptically.
"Why not now? You've wanted this, you seemed to make it clear last week." Aubrey pointed out. "I've just…..You know my family Chloe. Sure my parents might come to accept it, begrudgingly, but I can almost promise you Grandma Posen would have issues."
"But she likes me." Chloe pointed out. "I really don't get people like that."
"She is how she is." Aubrey said. "The last thing I'd want to do is hurt you. You're like this beautiful ball of sunshine and happiness, and I'll be damned if I let anyone change that." She added, placing a subtle, barely noticeable emphasis on 'anyone'.
"Awww you say the sweetest things sometime." Chloe said, pulling the blond into a hug.
It was a typical Tuesday at WBUJ. Luke was in the booth and Beca and Jesse were in the middle of putting albums away. In his usual jovial nature, Jesse took to putting up various albums in front of his face and then imitating their covers to try and amuse Beca. It worked too, Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" earned a smile while The Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Zero"elicited a barely audible chuckle. However Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever.", clearly meant to be his masterpiece, was met with a "You're a goofball" smirk.
"Don't tell me he does that here too." Josie called out as she entered the studio and walked over to her brother.
"You love it or you wouldn't be here watching me do it." Jesse shot back, hugging her. "Jo, this is Beca who I've been telling you about, Beca this is my sister Josie." He introduced the girls.
"Nice to finally put a face to the name." Josie said, nodding at Beca.
"Likewise." Beca answered simply.
"Don't mind her, she's harmless. Mostly." Jesse joked as he led his sister to the couch "What are you doing here anyway?"
"You know how light I am on Tuesdays, after my morning Chem lab, I don't have anything till 4, and that's just Philosophy 101 which is skipable. It's not like I'm going to learn something I didn't already know from the Monty Python song." The brunette engineering student explained as she pulled out her tablet. "So what better way is there to kill time till Voltage practice than hanging out with my favorite brother and the surrogate sister he's trying to replace me with?"
"Only brother." Jesse pointed out.
"Details." Josie waved it off. "I hear it's fun here and I don't have to put up with my roommate and her boyfriend du jour. If I could go the rest of my life without ever seeing another Samoan's penis, I would die a happy lesbian."
"Can't say as I blame you." Beca agreed with a laugh.
"I hear they can be problematic." Jesse quipped.
"All right, I've done all I can do, you should be ok for now, but I'm going to let IT know they need to get you a new computer in here, that one's just sad." Casey said to Luke as they exited the booth.
"It's got character." Luke said with a shrug.
"If it had character, it'd be Holly, and trust me, that computer is not Holly." The recent redhead replied before turning her attention to her girlfriend. "Hey cutie." She greeted, kissing the younger girl.
"Still no sex on the desk Beca." Luke reminded her, rolling his eyes before taking notice of Josie. "Jesse, I'm starving, so could you…"
"You want me to get you lunch?" Jesse asked, it not being the first time he'd been given the task. Trying not to look put upon he added, "You should probably lay off the burgers. You're not going to be 22 forever, you know."
After a brief, disbelieving look, Luke lifted his shirt to reveal a rock-hard, carved set of washboard abs. Glancing down at his stomach he looked back to Jesse and said "Yeah I think I'm good." He then purposely faced towards Josie and gave her what Beca now recognized as his "I'm flirting with you" grin.
"You're good, but I'm on their team." Josie replied, nodding towards Beca and Casey.
"Luke, Casey, this is my sister Josie." Jesse once again introduced her as she waved to the two she hadn't met yet. "I'll be right back with your food, anyone else want anything?" he asked. All three girls shook their heads no.
"Is that a Surface?" Casey asked noticing Josie's tablet. "They don't come out till later this month."
"Our Uncle Erik works at Microsoft and was able to snag me one early." Josie explained. "It's really great, I love having a keyboard and a USB port."
"I'm sure." Casey nodded, turning to Beca "Speaking of USBs, did you give it to him?" she asked.
"No, I haven't had the chance." Beca said, shaking her head.
"You should, your stuff is really good." Casey urged.
"Ok." Beca said, going for her bag and getting a flash drive which she handed to Luke. "This is my new mix, so if there's anything you wanted to play…"
"Yeah ok, I'll put it on the pile." Luke said, taking it and putting it in a bin labeled submissions.
Beca was once again sitting on the grass with her laptop open when she heard a familiar voice call out.
"What's up, weirdo?" Jesse asked, tossing a juice pouch to Beca.
"Okay." Beca said as caught it. "What's this?"
"As much as I love spending time with you stacking CDs… And I do." Jesse started as he unpacked his backpack "I love it, like, more than life. I figured we could do some other fun things that don't make us wanna kill ourselves, right?"
"Yeah." Beca agreed, taking the straw off the juice pouch.
"So, brought some movies. Jaws, E.T., The Breakfast Club, Star Wars, and Rocky." Jesse listed off as he tossed the cases on the ground. "Best scored and soundtracked movies of all time. That's what I wanna do when I grow up. I wanna score movies. Bring people to tears you know. Blow their minds. I feel like only music can do that."
"Yeah." Beca said after taking a drink. "You must really sweep your girlfriend off her feet."
"Oh I don't have a girlfriend." Jesse said.
"What?" Beca asked, feigning shock. "You have juice pouches and Rocky! What straight girl wouldn't love that?"
"You know a lot about straight girls?" Jesse asked.
"Too much sadly." Beca answered with a sigh. "So many of the cute ones are."
"But you've got a girlfriend now." Jesse pointed out. "And a cute one to boot. So, what do you wanna watch first?"
"Wanna do something else?" Beca asked "We could relive my parents' divorce. Or visit a gynecologist."
"What, do you not like movies or something?" Jesse asked. "Like any movies? You don't… What the hell is wrong with you? How do you not like movies? Not liking movies is like not liking puppies."
"They're fine, I just get bored and never make it to the end." Beca explained.
"The endings are the best part." Jesse said, disbelief readily evident in his voice.
"They're predictable." Beca began her defense. "Like, the guy gets the girl and that kid sees dead people and Darth Vader is Luke's father."
"Ok, right, so you just happened to guess the biggest cinematic reveal in history?" Jesse asked, truly surprised.
"Vader in German means father." Beca explained. "His name is literally Darth Father."
"Huh. So you know German." Jesse said. "Well, now I know why you don't like fun things. Though I'm betting there are some girls where that can work in your advantage, if you're into that kind of thing"
"Not having that conversation." Beca said, rolling her eyes.
"You know, you need a movie education." Jesse said. "You need a movie-cation. And I'm gonna give it to you."
"Yeah in between spending time with Casey and Bella rehearsals, which are always." Beca scoffed.
"Are you guys getting ready for the riff-off?" Jesse asked when she mentioned the Bellas.
"What the hell is a riff-off?" Beca asked, not having heard of it.
"So, we just pick any song that works?" Beca asked, finally catching on to how things worked. The riff-off was quite the spectacle, attracting a fair share of onlookers, including Casey and Josie.
"Yeah, any song." Chloe confirmed.
"And you just go with it? Nice." Beca said while they waited for Justin to announce the next category.
"And our next category is…Stadium Rock!" Justin called out. Before either the Harmonics or the Bellas could pick a song, Jesse jumped right out to the middle of the pool.
"Well they blew up the Chicken Man in Philly last night. Now they blew up his house too…" Jesse launched right into Bruce Springsteen's "Atlantic City".
"Oh my brother's GOOD." Josie said to Casey as he sang. Looking around she pointed out as the Harmonics clearly had no clue how to respond. "Look, the other groups are clearly flummoxed."
"I don't know, my girl's got something in mind." Casey said with a grin as she caught Beca looking up at them and smiling before whispering something in Chloe's ear. She could tell Beca was just waiting for the right time step up and cut him off. She also didn't miss the way Chloe seemed to react so positively to Beca's presence, even though the redhead was happily hanging off Aubrey's arm.
"Well now, everything dies, baby, that's a fact. But maybe everything that dies someday comes back. Put your makeup on, fix your hair up…."
"Pretty woman…." Beca sang, staring straight up at Casey with a very sultry look as the rest of the Bellas joined her on Van Halen's version of the song, "Walking down the street..."
"Told ya." Casey said, not taking her eyes off Beca. Unfortunately though, Beca's serenade didn't last long as one of the Harmonics cut her off.
"Don't go for second best…" The girl sang before Justin made his way to the center of the pool to stop her.
"I'm sorry, but the category is stadium ROCK." He emphasized. "Madonna is not rock, she's pop. Respect the genres. You are…" He started, clapping twice as everyone else joined in with him, "CUT OFF!"
"That's too bad." Josie said as she watched the Bellas retreat to their area. "But you are so getting laid tonight."
"I am." Casey agreed, not taking her eyes off Chloe who was stealing glances at Beca every chance she got as the riff-off progressed. She also couldn't help but note the subtle look of panic in Aubrey's eyes as the blond obviously saw the same things she was seeing.
A/N 2: So yeah, throwing this down here because I didn't want to tip my hat up there, but Josie is Ellen Page. That's a wrap for now awesome nerds! Stay tuned, and have a great whatever it is whenever you read this.
