IN YOUR EYES

Chapter 03: "Farewell"

"Please hang in there Kise-kun!" Kuroko cried, soft pale hands holding tightly to the blonde's.

"Keep calm Kuroko-kun. Just believe in Ryouta, he will survive for us." Kise's older sister said, hands caressing the teal head's back in circular motion.

"Please Lord, save him. Save Kise-kun." the teal head whispered. Tears continuously flow from his almost puffy eyes. "Please save him."

They stopped right outside the emergency room where Kise was hurriedly brought in. Kuroko could see from the outside the venturi mask placed in his face as the blonde struggles from breathing. Kise's family began sobbing when they saw the dreadful situation of their dearest Ryouta. Kuroko sobbed as well as he mentally prays for Kise's survival from the brink of death.

After a few more minutes of uttering prayers and hushed tears, the doctor came out from the emergency room. Carrying the most heartbreaking news Kuroko Tetsuya would hear.

"We did our very best to save Kise-kun. We're really sorry."

Everyone in the emergency hallway cried. Kise's mother wailed so loud that she almost ran out of breathes. Kise's sisters and father bawled as they comfort each other with a tight hug. The teal haired guy at the corner weakly kneeled down, his energy in full drain. He can't even utter a word or a soft whisper. His throats ran dry as he felt the heavy tears fall from his tired eyes.

Kise Ryouta's time has finally come.

He is gone.

He will never see him again.

Their seemed to be happy-ending love story closes its book.

Farewell.

Few months after Kise's death, classes' resumes and second semester opens. Teikou students went back to their normal school routines. Everything is normal again. The whole Teikou Middle School sympathized with the Kise Family upon the blonde's sudden death. Depression spread all over the country when the popular teen model met his untimely demise.

Aomine Daiki felt miserable upon his best friend's death, too. But what he concerns more is not him alone, but the one who was wounded most—Kuroko Tetsuya.

Kuroko continues to live though—but not in his usual way. His teal eyes appear to be gloomier than his normal deadpan eyes. His complexion became paler than his natural fair complexion. Not to mention the fact that he grew thinner. Aomine felt miserable for his best friend's current condition that is why he chose to spend most of his time to be with him. The teal head rarely talks and speaks only if it's needed. What's most depressing is the fact that both his parents can't come to his side and give him the courage to fight the catastrophe he is facing.

Kuroko Tetsuya is slowly dying inside. And he wishes to die as well, to be able to see his lover again.

They were there by the seaside, donned in their Teikou Middle School Uniform, two pastel-haired teens standing next to each other. Hands interlocked and eyes glued in a lovely sunset. Orange and Blue hues mixed above the half starry sky.

Kuroko never expected that something wonderful like this would happen to his small existing life.

"I love you so much Tetsuyacchi."

"I love you too Ryouta-kun."

"Promise me you'll never leave me. And I promise I'll never leave you." Kise faced his teal haired lover.

"How will I know if Ryouta-kun is telling the truth?" Kuroko replied calmly.

"Let's do our best in our studies. Then after high school we will live together."

"You didn't answer my question, Kise-kun."

Kise smiled as he picks something from his pocket. Without any word he kneeled right before the man he loved most.

"Kuroko Tetsuya, will you marry me?"

"-tsu!" a strong manly voice rang. Kuroko jolted as he opens his eyes from a deep sleep. Corners of his eyes were wet in tears.

"Are you okay Tetsu? I thought I heard you sobbing. Is it Kise again this time?"

Kuroko didn't reply. He hid his face and wiped his tears.

"Tetsu, I know Kise's death was too painful for you. But you have to move on too! Do you think that noisy idiot is happy seeing you act like that? You never know, but Kise is just around the corner. He is watching you 24/7." Aomine stated as he pats the teal head's petite shoulder.

"You really do have a third eye, don't you?" Kuroko deadpanned.

"You're making fun of me again Tetsu!" Aomine grinned as he softly ruffles the mop of teal hair of his best friend.

Thanks to Aomine Daiki's endless support to the teal head, Kuroko could slowly cope up with the world again. Though in reality he only talks with Aomine and rarely on others, somehow he managed to see the world normally. The cruel world where there is no Kise Ryouta.

Oftentimes after classes Aomine would invite Kuroko to watch his practice at the school gym. Kuroko would sometimes come, but most of the time he prefers to go straight home.

This day would be special, Aomine thought. He will introduce his loner best friend to his teammates. He believed that adding friends to the teal haired's social circle will help him get back to his old self. He believed that having more friends will erase the pain he has after his boyfriend's death.

After a strenuous practice, Aomine altogether with his teammates, approached the teal head sitting quietly at the bleachers.

"Hi, I'm Kuroko Tetsuya."Kuroko bowed lightly.

"I think I know him. We're in the same class." A green-haired guy with glasses spoke. "I'm Midorima Shintarou."

"Mmmm. You sound like a robot. Anyway I'm Murasakibara Atsushi, and sorry for the long name." a tall, purple-haired young man replied, custard rolls stuck in his mouth.

"I'm Haizaki Shougo. I think you're too cute for a guy. Are you a girl dressing like a boy?" an ash-gray haired man said.

"I am not, Haizaki-kun. I'm a boy." The teal-haired deadpanned.

"I see. I'm sorry."

"Ah, I forgot. Our captain went ahead of us. He'll meet the club's coach. You'll meet him some other time." Aomine muttered.

"He is a bit scary and so strict. If you're planning to join our club you have to meet him first before you come up with your final decision." Midorima stated, pushing his eyeglasses up.

"I see. But I don't plan on joining the basketball club." Kuroko replied blankly.

"Really? That's quite sad; I'm kinda getting bored with these same old teammates. At least I'm expecting something new." Haizaki yawned.

"Getting bored? Then leave the club, stupid dumbass." Aomine blurted.

"Stop it Aomine-kun. You shouldn't start a fight with your friend." Kuroko said calmly as he pulls the tanned arm of his friend.

"You've got a nice best friend there Mine-chin. I have noticed you're so small, I think you're smaller than our fearsome captain." Murasakibara said, lazy purple eyes gazing at the short teal head. "Nee, can I call you Kuro-chin?"

"I don't see any problem with that Murasakibara-kun."

"Hmm. You speak much like Aka-chin." The purple giant murmured. "Kuro-chin sure is nice."

It became a habit for Kuroko to visit Kise's tombstone every weekend. He spends his whole day staying at Kise's side, feeling the serenity of the cemetery.

"You know Ryouta-kun, I met Aomine-kun's teammates. They are nice and friendly. They seem to be fun." He said, pale hands caressing the marble stone.

"I'm happy for you, Tetsuyacchi."

"Can I be friends with them? If you don't like then I will stop hanging out with them."

"No, you're better off with them."

"I failed to meet their captain. They say he is somewhat fearsome."

"I miss you, Tetsuyacchi."

"I miss you, Ryouta-kun."

Kuroko gently stroked the marble stone as he stares at the name engraved on it.

Kise Ryouta

19XX-20XX

At the farther part of the cemetery there stood a red haired young man carrying a basketful of Pansies and Malaysian Mums. He carefully placed the said basket beside the tombstone with a name engraved:

Asou Kiyosuke

18XX-20XX

He slowly bowed down before the tombstone to pay respect to his late loyal driver.

"I pray for your soul as you rest peacefully, Kiyosuke-san. And thank you for saving my life."

Kuroko is on his way to the exit when he came across a familiar red head. He ceased from his walking as both their eyes meet. Kuroko could only gasp upon the view he saw from the latter, mouth cupped as tears began welling up.

"Tetsuya…cchi."

A/N: Erm. Sorry for the "dull" moment with the Kiseki. I promise to add better part for them. REVIEWS! Do not forget. ;D Thank you and stay tuned. =P /RunsAway/
