"He's been sighted! He's been sighted!" Seamus cried, running in.
"Who?" Ron asked.
"Sirius Black!"
We all gathered around the prophet. "Dufftown?" Hermione read aloud. "That's not far from here."
"You don't think he'd come to Hogwarts, do you?" Neville asked.
"There are dementors at every entrance." I stated.
"Dementors? He slipped past them once. Who's to say he won't do it again?" Seamus reminded us.
"That's right. Black could be anywhere." Someone... I forgot his name... Began. "It's like trying to catch smoke. Like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands."
"That's comforting." I mumbled quietly.

I was walking through Hogsmeade with the twins.
"What do you guys want to do?" I asked. "I'm bored. We've already been around half the village and if you give me one more bag to carry my arms will fall off."
Fred and George smirked before they both dropped every single bag of candy, Zonkos stuff, and everything else onto me. I was so surprised I fell over, everything spilling onto the ground. I hit my knee on the ground.
They were standing over me, laughing. I scowled. "Bloody hell, you two. Help me clean this up."
"No, you dropped it." Fred said through his laughter.
I rolled my eyes. "Seriously guys, help me."
"I'll help you." Katie came by and helped me pick up the stuff.
I got on my knees to pick up the stuff and winced when my knee hurt. I probably scraped it or something.
"You okay?" Fred noticed this.
"Fine." I sighed. "It's probably just scraped." I picked up all the bags. "Thanks Katie."
I dumped half of them on the twins. "There, now we're equal. Wait..."
I took the stuff, muttered a spell, and it all shrunk. I shoved it into one bag, throwing out the rest. "There."
"Three broomsticks?" George asked.
"Sure." I grinned.
We made our way to said pub. There were countless Sirius Black 'Wanted' posters all over the village.
We walked up to the guy at the counter. "Hello, children."
"Hi, sir. Three butterbeers please." I put the money on the counter.
"Coming right up!" He hurried off.
"You know you didn't have to pay." Fred raised an eyebrow.
I shrugged. "Doesn't matter."
"Here you go. Have a nice day." He handed us the butterbeers. I gave him a small smile.
"Thanks, and you two."
We sat down near the fireplace. Fred sat beside me awkwardly. Se glanced at each other before looking away. Why am I so awkward around him? Like what?
Just then Alicia and Angelina walked by us. Angelina glared.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Nothing." She hissed.
"Your knee is bleeding, by the way." Alicia said, before the two of them made their way over to wherever they were sitting.
I looked down to see she was right.
"Damn it. Sorry, guys, I'll be right back." I ran to the bathroom to clean it up.
Someone grabbed my arm. I turned to see Angelina. Oh bloody hell... Here we go again.
"What is it, Johnson?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.
"I want you to stay away from Fred." She hissed.
I blinked. "What?"
"You heard me. Stay away from him." She growled.
"Yeah, I heard you. But what do you mean? We're best friends and I haven't hurt him or anything."
She face-palmed. "Argh. I mean that you don't deserve him. You like him, it's obvious. But it's even more obvious that he should be with me."
"What? I don't like Fred like that!" I blushed but looked at her confused.
"Sure you don't." Angelina said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
I walked away. What could she possibly mean, 'I like Fred'. I don't like him! We're nothing more than friends... Ugh. I might like him, maybe I don't... I physically slapped myself.
Keep it together, Megan! Don't let Johnson get to you!
I bandaged up my knee before running back to the twins. They were arguing about something.
"For the last time, George. I don't-"
"I'm back." I grinned sitting back beside Fred.
They both shut up.
"So, what were you and Johnson arguing about earlier?" George asked.
I shrugged. "I honestly don't know. She got pissed off at me for no reason." I was not going to tell them about Angelina's anger about me 'liking' Fred.
"Oh, okay." We all just sat there in awkward silence.
"So... Should we plan a prank on Malfoy or something? For being such a whimp about the hipogriff?" Fred suggested.
"We could make it snow in the Slytherin common room for a day or so." I said. "I'd like to see the Slytherins come to class the next day looking like they just came back from Canada or something."
"Or turn one of the stairs leading there into a ski-slope." George said.
We began scheming and finally decided on making it rain in the Slytherin common room for a night, so that they would arrive at breakfast the next morning soaked to the bone.
XxX
We made our way up to the common room that night only to see a crowd of students surrounding the entrance.
"What's going on?" George asked, trying to get a better view of things.
"Oi! Lee, what's happening?" Fred called Lee Jordan over.
"It's the Fat Lady. She's gone!" He exclaimed.
"What?" I blinked and stood on my tip-toes to see a that someone had sliced the painting. "Oh my God." I covered my mouth in shock.
Just then Percy came running along. "Let me through, please. Excuse me! I'm Head Boy! Get back, all of you. No one is to enter this dormitory until it's been fully searched!"
"Since when did Percy have control over us?" I muttered.
Just some of the students in other houses began to leave and we got closer.
"Looks like someone cut it with a knife or something." I said.
"Maybe your so-called father came by and decides to cut up the nearest painting." George nudged me.
"Shut up, George. This isn't funny. Besides, Sirius Black is not my father!"
"Keep calm, everyone. Break into fours. Back to your common room." Percy was ordering people around.
Dumbledore made his way towards the painting. We all moved out of the way. He began observing the cuts in the painting.
"Mr Filch? Round up the ghosts. Tell them to search every painting in the castle to find the Fat Lady." Dumbledore instructed. But Filch was looking elsewhere.
"There's no need for ghosts, professor. The Fat Lady's there." Filch pointed to a hippo painting.
We all ran up to where the Fat Lady was. Fred grabbed my hand so I didn't get lost in the crowds.
We all made it. Dumbledore walked up to her. "Dear lady, who did this to you?" He asked.
She peeked out from behind the hippo. She was crying. "Eyes like the devil, he's got, and a soul as dark as his name. It's him, headmaster. The one they all talk about. He's here, somewhere in the castle... Sirius Black!" She hid behind the hippo again.
My eyes widened and I tightened my grip on Fred's hand.
"Secure the castle, Mr Filch. The rest of you, to the Great Hall!" Dumbledore ordered.
I was terrified. Sirius Black, a crazy murderer was running around the castle doing who knows what. I was half aware that I was shaking.
"Ow- Megan stop squeezing my hand!" Fred hissed.
I turned to him and blushed, letting go. "S-Sorry!"
"Are you alright Megan?" George appeared.
I laughed half-heartedly. "Yeah! Of course I'm alright. Why would I not be...?" I started babbling random nonsesne for about five minutes when Fred put a hand over my mouth. I looked at him in confusion.
"You're babbling again." He removed his hand from my mouth after he said it.
"Oh... Sorry." I bit my lip and looked at my feet.
The teachers filled the Great Hall with sleeping bags and everyone had to sleep there incase Sirius Black came along and decided to kill some random Hufflepuffs or Ravenclaws or whatever.
They tried to get us to sleep, but as soon as the teachers were off searching the castle, I just lay there, awake, as everyone else tried to sleep.
"Meg?" Someone whispered.
"Hm?" I turned to see Fred. I looked to my other side to see George was asleep. I turned back to Fred.
"You're sure you're okay?" He sounded slightly concerned.
I sighed and shook my head. "I'm not. I'm terrified. I don't want anyone getting hurt." I looked back at the ceiling. "Besides, what if he's after me? What if I am actually his daughter?"
Fred took my hand. I looked at him in confusion. "First of all, you being Black's daughter is just a joke. And second of all, you'll be fine, trust me."
I gave him a small smile. "Since when were you so gentle?"
He laughed quietly. "Just get to sleep."
I sighed and closed my eyes. I soon drifted off to sleep.
