Chapter 3
Notes
Prima Donna
Cream Enters the room where Amy was gone with the keys in her hands.
"Amy?" Cream calls out quietly, she looks through out the room searching her and notice a light cracking through the mirror. She walks to the mirror and slides the it on the side, she peeks around the corner and the mirror on the other side was see through glass. Cream looks down the dark hallway and decided to walk down in it, she goes deeper into the tunnels and something grabs her shoulder. Cream gasp and quickly turn around seeing her mother Vanilla standing before her. She took her hand and lead her out of the tunnels.
"Argh!" Knuckles yelled. He was on the back stage filled with women scaring them pretending he was the Phantom.
Knuckles: Like yellow parchment is his skin, a great black hole serves as the nose that never grew,
You must be always on your guard, or he will catch you with his magic lasso.
Knuckle took a hanging rope and wraps it around the woman's waist and pulls her in towards him. But Vanilla enters the room and releases the girl and looks at knuckles.
Vanilla: Those who speak of what they know, find too late that prudent silence is wise,
Knuckles why don't you hold your tongue,
Vanilla slaps Knuckle across his face and took the rope out of his hand and wraps it around his neck.
"Keep you hand at the level of your eyes," Vanilla pulls the rope choking Knuckles and let go of him for a while.
(In The Phantom's Lair)
A music box with a monkey on top plays a heavenly song as Amy woke up in bed, she looks around and gets out of bed.
Amy: I remember there was mist, swirling mist upon a vast, glassy lake,
There were candles all around and on the lake there was a boat,
And in the boat there was a man.
Amy turns to see Shadow on the organ writing his song and Opera, he turns and saw Amy staring at him. Amy walks to Shadow as he continued his work.
Amy: Who was that shape in the shadows? Whose is the face in the mask?
Amy held her hand on his face and removes the mask off, Shadow quickly covers half of his face and pushed her to the ground and walks with rage.
Shadow: Damn you! You little prying Pandora, You little demon! Is this what you wanted to see!
Curse you! You little lying Delilah! You little viper now you cannot ever be free!
Shadow knocks everything down in his path.
Shadow: Damn you! Curse you!
Shadow stood there gazing upon his reflection in the water still covering half of his face as Amy lays there frighten.
Shadow: Stranger than you dreamt it, Can you even dare to look,
Or bear to think of me? This loathsome gargoyle who burns in hell,
But secretly yearns for heaven, secretly, secretly, Amy.
Shadow looks at the dress where the mannequin wears than back to Amy as he walks towards her.
Shadow: Fear can turn to love, you'll learn to see to find the man,
Behind the monster, this, repulsive carcass who seems a beast,
But secretly dreams of beauty, secretly, secretly, oh Amy.
Shadow sat down by her, Amy cries and hands him the mask for covering his face. Shadow grabs the mask from her and puts it back on and looks at her.
"Come," Shadow said. "We must return. Those two fools who run my theater will be missing you.
(In the present)
We are back at the year 1919 when the auction was over. The pale blue hedgehog was in the car looking at the old rabbit. The hedgehog bowed his head as in 'good day' as she did the same. The car started to move as the hedgehog looks back at the rabbit and he remembers the past of the incident.
(In The Past)
Decoe was walking in the streets filled with people lining up at the theater, the robot passes through the crowd and entered the building. Inside was people cleaning, wiping floors, setting up things for tonight gala.
Decoe: "Mystery after gala night",
It says "Mystery of soprano's flight."
"Mystified" all the papers say,
"We are mystified we suspect foul play."
Bad news on soprano scene,
First Blaze the Cat, now Amy.
Still at least the seats get sold,
Gossip's worth its weight in gold.
Decoe headed up on the steps.
Decoe: What a way to run a business, spare me these unending trails,
Half your cast disappears but crowd still cheers, opera!
To hell with Gluck and Handel have a scandal and you're sure to have a hit.
Bocoe was running towards Decoe.
Bocoe: Damnable, will they all walk out? This is damnable.
Decoe: Bocoe, please don't shout, It's publicity, and the take is vast free publicity.
Bocoe: But we have no cast.
Decoe: Bocoe, have you seen the queue? It seems you've got one too.
Bocoe was carrying a letter in his hand and read it as the two robots walk down the hall.
Bocoe: "Dear Bocoe, what a charming gala, Amy was, in word, sublime,
We were hardly bereft when Blaze the Cat left, on the note, the diva's a disaster must you cast her when she's sesasons past her prime?"
Decoe took out another letter out from his jacket.
Decoe: "Dear Decoe, just a brief reminder, my salary has not been paid,
Send it care of the Ghost by return of the post PTO, no one likes a debtor so it's better if my orders are obeyed."
Decoe & Bocoe: Who would have the gall to send this? Someone with a puerile brain.
Decoe: These are both signed O.G.
Bocoe: Who the hell is he?
Decoe & Bocoe: Opera Ghost.
Decoe: It's nothing short of shocking.
Bocoe: He is mocking our position.
Decoe: In addition he wants money.
Bocoe: What a funny apparition.
Decoe & Bocoe: To expect a large retainer he is clearly quite insane.
Sonic: Where is she?
Sonic called out the two robots which startled them both.
Decoe: Blaze the Cat?
Sonic: I mean, Miss Rose, where is she?
Decoe: How do we know?
Sonic: I want an answer.
Sonic rushes up the steps and headed to the robots.
Sonic: You sent me this note.
Decoe: What's this nonsense?
Bocoe: Of course not.
Decoe: Don't look at us.
Sonic: She's not with you?
Decoe: Of course not.
Bocoe: We're in the dark.
Sonic: Dont's argue, isn't this the letter you wrote?
Decoe: And what is it that we're meant to have wrote?
"Written," Decoe corrected himself as Bocoe took the note from Sonic's hand.
'Do not fear for Miss Rose,' Bocoe read. 'The Angle of Music has her under his wing. Make no attempt to see her again.'
"If you didn't write it, who did?" Sonic asked.
Blaze: Where is he?
Blaze and Silver storm across the building.
Bocoe: Welcome back.
Blaze: Your precious patron, where is he?
Sonic: What is it?
Blaze: I have your letter, a letter I rather resent.
Decoe: Did you sent it?
Sonic: Of course not.
Decoe: As if he would.
Blaze: you didn't send it?
Sonic: Of course not.
Decoe: What's going on?
Blaze: Tell me, this is not the letter you sent?
Sonic: And what is it that I'm meant to have sent?
Sonic opens the envolope from Blaze and read it.
'Your days at the Opera Populaire are numbered,' Sonic read. 'Amy Rose will be singing on our behalf tonight. Be prepared for a great misfortune... should you attempt to take her place.'
Blaze builds up her fury.
Decoe & Bocoe: Far too many notes for my taste, and most of them about Amy,
All we've heard since we came is Miss Rose's name.
Vanilla: Miss Rose has returned.
Vanilla startled all the people and Cream was with her.
Decoe: I hope no worse for wear as far as we're concerned.
Bocoe: Where precisely is she now?
Vanilla: I thought it best she was alone.
Cream: She needed rest
Sonic: May I see her?
Vanilla: No, Sonic, she will see no one
Blaze & Silver: Will she sing? Will she sing?
Vanilla: Here, I have a note.
All: Let me see it.
"Please," Decoe said as he grabs the note from Vanilla. 'Gentlemen,' He read. 'I have now sent you several notes of the most amiable nature detailing how my theater is to be run. You have not followed my instructions. I shall give you one last chance.'
(Last Night)
Shadow was writing the letter on his desk to the robots.
'You have not followed my instructions,' He wrote. 'I shall give you one last chance.'
Shadow: Amy Rose has returned to you, and I am anxious her career should progress,
In the new production of 'Il Muto', you will therefore cast Blaze as the pageboy, And put miss Rose in the role of countess.
The role which Miss Rose play calls for charm and appeal,
The role of the pageboy is silent which makes my casting in a word, ideal.
'I shall watch the performance from my normal seat in box five,' He continued writing. 'Which will be kept empty for me. Should these commands be ignored a disaster beyond your imagination will occur. I remain, gentlemen, your obedient servant. O.G.'
As Shadow the letter he put it in the envelope and poor wax on the center of it, he stamp it and form it into a skull.
(Today)
Blaze: Amy.
Bocoe: Whatever next?
Bocoe & Blaze: It's all a ploy to Amy.
Decoe: This is insane.
Blaze: I know who sent this, the vicomte, her lover.
Sonic: Indeed! Can you believe this?
Decoe: Signora
They enter the room with the huge mirror Amy last went through, Blaze threw pillows and flowers everywhere.
Decoe: Signora.
Bocoe: You are our star.
Decoe: And always will be.
Bocoe: Signora.
Decoe: The mman is mad.
Bocoe: We don't take orders.
"Miss Rose will be playing, the silent role," Decoe said, Blaze calms down.
Decoe & Bocoe: Blaze the Cat will be playing the lead.
Decoe, Bocoe, Blaze, and Silver rushes through the back stage.
Blaze: It's useless trying to appease me.
Silver: Appease her.
Blaze: You're only saying this to please me.
Silver: To please her.
As the group rushes through back stage Vanilla. Sonic, and cream catches up to them.
Vanilla: Who scorn his word, beware to those.
Blaze: You will reviled me.
Vanilla: The angle sees, the angle knows.
Blaze: You have rebuked me.
Decoe & Bocoe: Signora, pardon us.
Blaze: You have replaced me.
Decoe and Bocoe: Please, signora, we beseech you.
As the group heaed downstairs they were walking towards the exit.
Sonic:I must see her.
Vanilla: This hour shall see your darkest fears,
The angle knows, the angle hear.
Sonic: Where did she go?
Decoe & Bocoe: Signora, sing for don't be a martyr
All: What new surprise lie in store? Our star!
As they went outside a group of crowd surrounded Blaze, they carry flowers, they clap, and they cheered. A man reaches to the front and held out a rose in front of Blaze.
"Would you please give this to Miss Rose?" The man asked as blaze wipes the smile off her face and went back inside.
"Your public needs you," Bocoe said.
"We need you too," Decoe said.
Blaze: Would you not rather have your precious little ingenue?
"Signora, no," Decoe and Bocoe both said.
Decoe & Bocoe: The world wants you.
They went to the dressing room where Blaze gets ready for shows. They were preparing for tonight.
Decoe & Bocoe: Prima donna first lady of the stage, your devotees are on their knees to implore you,
Bocoe:Can you bow out when they're shouting your name?
Decoe: Think of how they all adore you.
Decoe & Bocoe: Prima donna enchant us once again.
Bocoe: Think of your muse.
Decoe: And of the queues round the theater.
Decoe & Bocoe: Can you deny us the triumph in store?
Sing, prima donna once more.
The two robots keeps handing her gift: Flowers, jewels, and another dog only black. Sonic was on back stage thinking about Amy.
Sonic: Amy spoke of an angle.
Blaze was trying to wear her uniform.
Blaze:Prima donna your song shall live again,
Decoe & Bocoe: Think of your public.
Blaze: You took a snub, but there's a public who needs you.
Vanilla was on back stage.
Vanilla: She has heard the voice of the Angle of Music.
Back in Blaze's room.
Decoe and Bocoe: Those who hear your music.
Decoe & Bocoe: Liken you to an angle.
Blaze: Think of their cry of undying support
Bocoe: We get our opera.
Decoe: She gets her limelight.
Decoe & Bocoe: Leading ladies are a trial.
The two robots was carrying Blaze back stage as if they were her slaves.
Blaze:Prima donna your song shall never die.
Decoe & Bocoe: You'll sing again and to unending ovation.
Sonic: Orders, warnings, Lunatic demands.
Decoe & Bocoe: Lunatic demands are regular occurrences.
Blaze: Think how you'll shine in that final encore.
Decoe & Bocoe: Surely there'll be further scenes worse than this.
Sonic: I must see these demands are rejected.
Decoe & Bocoe: Who'd believe a diva happy to relieve a chorus girl who's gone and slept with the patron?
Sonic and the soubrette entwined in love's duet although he may demur he must have been with her, you'd never get away
With all this in a play
But if it's loudly sung
And in a foreign tomgue
It's just the sort of story
Audience adore
In fact, a perfect opera
Vanilla & Cream: For if his curse is on the opera.
Blaze was dressed up and every cast was around her. Everyone was singing including the people outside.
All: Prima donna, the world is at your feet, a nation waits and how it hates to be cheated,
They prepared the stage for tonight as they cleaned evey inch of the place.
All: Light up the stage with that age-old rapport,
Sing, prima donna...
They took a deep breathe to hold the last note.
All: Once more.
Something tells me this is not going to end well.
