A Scar of Dreams

Her blond curly hair tickled her nose, which caused her early awakening. The rising sun was peaking over the 109 building and into the gap between her curtains. Realization. Her scorn brought the cloth together and she rolled over.

She wouldn't cry; she promised that she wouldn't. She brought the comforter closer to her eyes.

"It's always a dream, that's what makes it painful."

In her mind, she was able to live the life she had always wanted; in reality, she wasn't close.

"Today... today will be the day...after I wake up."

Her spirit shone as bright as the sun.
